Nov 02,2023We have been coming to bents for about 30yrs and we have always been a very enjoyable experience, I have marked it down of late as I think it is becoming a victim of its great success. At busy times the restaurant feels a bit like a motorway services albeit the food is far superior. This being said we still enjoy our visits but try to do it on the quieter days.

Oct 26,2023Had a brief chat with the restaurant manager Linzie Millward after a slight issue and so impressed with such remarkable management skills and customer service, cannot recommend highly enough will most definitely be visiting again due to Linzie’s management skills and friendly approachable manner.

Oct 25,2023Love this garden centre. However took my granddaughter today and sandpit still outside when temperatures 5degs. Sand was wet and when we went into kids play area she fell on slippy decking so we didn’t stay there either. I hope they reconsider putting sandpit back inside for winter as lots parents used it when it was cold and got hot drinks while watching too. The sand was softer and much more child friendly. Every child today had wet bottoms when they came out of sandpit

Oct 21,2023We often go to Bents for a few hours but today was disappointing. I took my 87 year old mum to have a look at the Christmas displays and for something to eat. Because it was getting on we decided kid’s meals were enough. Things started bad when I asked for a small ramekin of coleslaw than the beans. Was told that would be extra, explained did not want the bean could I exchange them for the coleslaw. Yes that would be extra. So asked for a smaller ramekin of beans. Seems that was fine but the price did not change. We were told to go and get our drinks and the young girl would bring them over. Well thinks did not get any better mum had ordered sausage and mash. One wad burned and the other one was only just cooked. Mine was a small ramekin of bean, a lovely hot tub of fries and cold chicken nuggetS. Now I know it was late 07:30pm but they were open until I would guess 08:00. Now for the price I would have expected a better effort. The price does not bother me because I know their prices it was the quality that was disappointing.

Oct 12,2023OK. I go every year on Xmas opening. Unlike most other years was really disappointed this year. Food was warm and boring for the £20 it cost me. One small cold jacket potatoe. Small ceramic bowl of beans and small ceramic bowl of salad. One small coffee and one gf cake. The GF quiche was once again goats cheese. No thankyou. Then to the Xmas displays and ornaments. Some felt like last years left overs. Displays are not what they were. None with the wow factor. I used to love the table displays but they haven't done those for years. The trees decorated and not decorated left a lot to the imagination. To be honest had to visit Newbank down the road to get the Xmas spirit feeling. I do not know what is going on with Bents. But it feels like the food is less appetising for more cost. And it feels like the decoration staff have run out of ideas using old stock. My sister-in-law who has come with me for the past 30+ years didn't even purchase anything apart from her food. She had a cold plate, cold quiche and two veg? . What is wrong Bents. I have never felt the need to complain before. Never. I do not even recall seeing a Bents Xmas bear?. Anyone travelling on coaches for this will not be happy. Too far to come for less than usual. I live close by but I doubt I will visit much more this Xmas. I usually come with my grown children. I have warned the 1 daughter who relishes going to be prepared. And that I won't be purchasing food as usual. Sorry Bents but you need someone with a critical eye to overlook the store. First time ever I walked out wondering what the heck.
