Mar 28,2025just had my renewal..omg its gone down for the 1st year ever ,,,been driving over 20yrs and the next years quotes always gone up, if staying with the same insurer.i might never have to change insurers again...there was a slight downside free rac cover when i needed it messed me a round, broke down clutch went at 4pm giving me 3 hr recovery slot 6pm till 9 pm not bad i thought ..then texted to say my slot had moved to 12am till 3am i was a female on my own so i canceled the pick up and arranged to return to the car the follow2803ing morning they said to call when i was at the car 11am..came out at 6 pm got home for 8pm still better than having no break down cover at all. i did put in a complaint but because i chose not to wait with my car till 3am they took my callout time from 11am the following day. just a headsup for anyone else having the free rac cover in.

Mar 27,2025The price quoted on the comparison site was not the price I paid in the end (+15%) despite not changing anything except the addition of a tracker which then comically increased the price further 1% and didn't undo if I unchecked that box. If I hadn't been in pressing need of it I would have binned it off. The only reason for an extra star is their customer service made some superficial attempt to look into though parroted the usual lines about changing things would adjust the premium - even though I didn't.

Mar 26,2025I took out car insurance with this company and completely overlooked the fact that I had signed up for automatic renewal with another company. Budget were incredibly kind and tolerant of my stupidity and gracefully cancelled the policy immediately. I will definitely seek to sign up with them next time, knowing that I will receive excellent service.

Mar 26,2025I've been with Budget for a few years and it's been the cheapest so I've stayed. My car just completely broke however so I had to change my policy half way through the year and when I tried to put this through my policy amount almost tripled from 50 to 130 ! I ran a quote online through comparison tools and the quote offered by budget for the same details was 50. So they purposefully hiked the price because I was mid contract and backed into a corner. They tried to charge me 90 to cancel plus my usual monthly premium but I complained and got this dropped to just my monthly premium, but this took a lot of back and forth! So I've had to cancel and pay for a new provider, just because Budget tried to take advantage of my situation. To update: Budget called me to follow up on the review to see how they could've improved the situation. The damage is done for me sadly but hopefully they will improve their practices in the future.
