I got a message about a discrepancy between a past accident date between the central database and the proposal form. It could have made premium higher, but when I got onto Budget, they took all the details, checked into the facts and confirmed it was just a mix up - and in fact reduced the premium by a couple of pounds. The reduction was nice, but the great bit was that it could have been a big issue, but they dealt with it politely and quickly, without fuss.
Have a policy and needed to make a change which should be simple and quick. Waited on hold for ages, then was told would be transferred- but was just cut off. Now spent another hour trying but no one answers. Meanwhile I can’t drive the car. My advice would be to pay the extra and go elsewhere to a company that answer the phone. With insurance more than anything, you need peace of mind. Thankfully it wasn’t a claim, would be even more stressful if so. **edit, interesting to see how quick they respond to negative social media, but still can’t get through on the phone. If only the same effort went into customer services (answering the phone) as it does into trying to have a positive image on review sites!

Speedy competitive and professional service
A non-fault claim was raised on 22/12/2024, the adviser was great who initiated the process, I could not fault them and was advised I would be contacted by Enterprise repair and car hire the following day. Unfortunately, from here on in, things went downhill as I never received a call the following day, so I called the claims line. I was advised there was a system error and the claim would have to be processed manually, which I accepted and was then advised I would be contacted again shortly by Enterprise, however, still no phone calls. I have had to chase everyday (except Christmas and Boxing days) since for progress with both Enterprise (who always advised and insisted they hadn't received anything), and Budget/Carpenters who kept advising me they had sent everything manually to them, again, saying I should be contacted soon. It is now over a week since raising my claim which is non-fault and I am still having to chase to get this claim to the next phase which is very frustrating and not to be expected from a 5star defacto and 4+/5 trust pilot rated company. I have had no acknowledgement communications such as emails to confirm my claim had been raised (and nothing is visible on my account relating to ongoing claims) nor any links sent to upload evidence relating to my claim. I am still none the wiser whether I am allowed to drive my car which is needed for commuting, or the process to replace the isofix car seat as per policy, so sat in limbo. Carpenters today advised that they will call me back and would progress the claim and force it through, no call back received as promised, and blamed the festive period and no staff available which I cannot accept as people are clearly working with me being able to contact numerous people already. A formal complaint will be made which I didn't want to do.
In my experience, their attractive pricing seems to come at the cost of excessive checks and measures, inconveniently scheduled during the Christmas week without any regard for the timing. I have no problem providing the data they are asking and I will, but the underwriter behind them clearly doesn't trust their initial offers which is now just a big waste of my time. Their customer support feels as 'budget' as their prices.
