Terrible experience. Still awaiting a call back from management. Bought a car Jan 2021, since then it’s had an engine light on 2X and now the clutch has completely gone along with another engine fault (thermostat needs replacing). This car has 47,000 miles and 65 plate Mercedes and simply shouldn’t be having all these major faults. The car was sold staying ‘12 Months MOT’ however was delivered ‘not road legal’ 4X tyres threading, all break pads and disks all dangerously worn. The car didn’t even have a single check on sale which they’ve admitted fault for. I’m a district nurse and rely on having a reliable car. I’m now day 8 still no car again for the 3rd time I’m 9 months with a £2,200 bill for repairs on a dodgy car that should never have been sold in the first place. I was sold a dream and now living a nightmare with added stress of no car and a bill I refuse to pay.

I put my existing car in part exchange and paid the balance due on the car I was buying in cash. So, I was worried about having to pay 2 working days in advance of the new car being delivered. This aspect was particularly important because the Financial Conduct Authority deals with credit lenders not buying/selling cars for cash. I found the members of the BuyaCar sales team were, as you would expect, more interested in making the sale than dealing with my concerns about the security of my cash payment in advance. However, once I signed the contract and was transferred to the BuyaCar operations team, I felt much more comfortable and the transaction went very smoothly. The Car Buying Group collected my existing car at 11.00 am on the appointed day and the new car was delivered by BuyaCar about an hour and half later. The new car was exactly as described. This was my first experience of buying a car online and, in overall terms, I can recommend BuyaCar for making the whole transaction pretty stress free.
STEER CLEAR AND BEWARE! THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE SIMPLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE HAD THEIR CAR DELIVERED AS ADVERTISED! IF THEY DELIVER IT FAULTY, THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CARE! As with a few other Google/TrustPilot reviews, this company are 10/10 up until the point they have your money and delivered the car. After that, if you experience any issues they don't want to hear it. In my particular case I bought a car off them and it turned out to be faulty. As with literally any other half-decent company, you would expect them to collect it and repair it or issue a refund. Instead, they have been sending me on a wild chase from garage to garage telling me to identify and solve the problem myself, then send them invoices. Different garages have been diagnosing the problem differently and I'm no mechanic to understand what the issue is. Of course, they used this against me claiming that it's my fault different garages have been telling me different things and I couldn't identify the issue. Then, after two years of trying to get the car fixed (and two years of payments, no less, for a faulty car that was delivered NOT as advertised), they tell me that too much time has elapsed now and that there's "nothing further they can do regarding my concern". I would urge anyone else in the same situation to obtain legal advice as I have and file legal proceedings against this morally-bankrupt excuse of a company. First time I've ever reviewed anything negatively as well which just says everything you need to know about BuyaCar

Contacted buyacar as o was interested in an Auris Estate on their website. Unfortunately it wasn't available when they check with the dealer, but the staff there worked hard to find and secure me an alternative which they did quickly and effectively. Given the challenges in the used car market at the moment, this is no small feat. They led me through the paperwork. The security checks are quite stringent but necessary when everything is being done remotely. Finance was quickly and easily secured and the car was delivered promptly. Great service, doing all the legwork for me and I'm really grateful. Thank you!

Oct 05,2021I was going to delete my review but decided that everyone makes mistakes and businesses are no exception. I gave a one star review as I was really let down. However, a manager from Buyacar called me this evening to apologise for what had happened. He did not try and cover anything up, explained that he understood the error was made. This to me is honourable and if this is how a company responds to its errors then they are going in the right direction. Obviously I was very disappointed with what happened but Arthur assures me that they are very sorry for the error and they will learn from it. Original review: Initially I was really pleased with Buyacar. They’re friendly on the phone, very responsive initially. They got me to put a load of my personal details in for a credit check, got me to put down the £199 deposit for the car, only for three days later (after numerous times chasing them) to tell me that although I reserved the car, it had been sold to someone else. I can only take from this that they are selling in numerous places. Not trustworthy at all. You can also imagine the disappointment! :(
