I've been using coin flip for a couple years. They are very convenient and the customer service was very good. Today I get a text message from them saying they're closing my account. I typically would just put cash in the machine and transfer the funds to my Exodus account which is my main account I use for digital investing. I use coin flip so often that they actually gave me a small discount on their fees. So this was truly a strange text message. I called coin flip to ask why the account was closed. But for some reason they say they can't give me the reason why , nor do they have the information. They told me to to read their terms and conditions which I did but I don't see where I did anything wrong and they won't provide any information. I spoke with the manager about it and he said the same thing. This is very unusual from a company. If I did something wrong you would think that they would provide information but they absolutely provide nothing . This actually can be very dangerous because if you create an account with coin flip to store funds they can actually close your account and your funds are lost. you will not get them back. I do not use them for a wallet so I did not have this problem when they closed my account But because they are not willing to even discuss the problem with me I have to give him a low rating and I'm very suspicious of this recent activity as a company. I would be very very careful. Strange decisions in closing an account who is a regular customer are red flags. Sometimes it is an indicator that the company is about to go under
This is the best place to buy bitcoins
I've never ever had problems with calling them. If you sit and listen and don't try to talk over them you'll get your explanation. Just be patient. If you have sent it to the wrong address or to a scammer there's nothing they can do... Good system and cheaper
Good rates - transparent fees
I used the CoinFlip machine near my work at lunch time. The screen wouldn't read my phone's QR code so I called the number. The person who answered helped me get the process right ( have to hold the phone right flat and then move it backwards slowly) AND gave me a discount for my troubles. They also seem to have the best prices around. Couldn't be happier.
I recently had to deposit a large amount of cash in a BTC ATM located in the BP on the corner of Washington and Ogden in Naperville IL. I usually buy my BTC from the exchanges and every once and a while I would utilize the convenience of this ATM by Bitcoin of America . I made the deposit and received an emailed receipt. After looking at the amount of BTC I realized two things were very off …. The amount I was suppose to receive and the price in which they charged for the BTC. They charged me an amount that turned out to be 15% of my deposit and their bitcoin price was 7k higher than market. After emailing and calling I have been blown off. 2 days later I used another machine which I found very user friendly and had all the fees listed transparently. As I was driving away I called them to inquire as to the rules of these machines etc…. I was helped by a very intelligent and pleasantly helpful man named Logan. In summary Coinflip has the lowest fees around and has great customer service . Thanks Logan
I generally stay away from these sorts of things. If I feel wronged by a company, I generally express my displeasure by simply taking my money elsewhere. But for this company, I will make an exception. First, let me say that for 7 months, I have been very happy with CoinFlip. Their transaction fees are lower. I am not the most computer literate person on the planet and some other companies would verbally belittle me for not knowing terms like blockchain and that QR code. I was used to typing the wallet address manually. I got in touch with CoinFlip, explained my problem with the BRD wallet system and said, I wish I could just deposit the coin into my husband’s wallet instead. I have the JPG on my phone. The rep said, “You can deposit it into any wallet you like.” So for 7 months, I have been sending my husband bitcoin so that he can get the supplies he needs to complete his offshore contract. Earlier last week, I needed to send more than 900. I phoned customer support to update my account and rep asked if would still be same phone number. I said it would. He was very pleasant and asked why I chose CoinFlip. I said that I chose it because was easier to just send to my husband wallet. Right away, he said that is non compliant with Coin Flip rules. He sent me a link and by this time, I am more familiar with the QR wallet scanning process. I sent my husband a larger sum of money and then a smaller sum of money the next day. Less than 5 minutes after I sent the smaller sum of money (still over 2000 though), I received a text from CoinFlip compliance team that my account was on hold for non compliance and asked me to send them an email. I explained that I had been told that I could use any wallet and was unaware that I was breaking rules. I asked to please be reinstated, that I was happy with CoinFlip I did not receive any reply, so several hours later, I sent another email to them, going into greater depth and explaining that an employee had told me I could use any wallet I wanted to use. Has been 4 days, and not even the courtesy of a “We will review your claim and respond.” My husband still needed assistance, so I needed to go to different company. Is more expensive, but they respond to every text within 10 minutes. I was at one time very happy with CoinFlip, but pay attention to the name. CoinFlip can come up heads or tails. Maybe you will be treated politely, maybe you won’t. Coinflip has shown me irrevocably that I won’t
Selena was awesome. Patient and courteous. Thank you sweetheart!!
I was contacted to host a CoinFlip ATM in early March. We signed an agreement to lease space in my business for $175/month with three months paid in advance. Fast forward six months and I haven't seen a penny from this company. I sent numerous messages and emails over those six months and no one was able to help me. I would get promised a callback but never did. Now they want to remove the ATM without paying me what is owed. I would avoid this company at all costs. They appear to operate in a shady manner.
Machine shut off during a purchase and they refused to acknowledge the problem. If you have someone telling you the machine shut off after taking money, your machine telling you no issues occurred means your machines need to be improved. Maintenance tech did not report overages, but honestly who would when you can easily pocket the money knowing the machines don't register random shutdowns. Anyway, go elsewhere - they don't care about their mistakes and will read back the same tired line when you try to rectify issues with their ATM's.
BS irresponsible company. Use bitstop or local coins. First they should've hired an engineer for there product (there machines) I can't explain to you that there machines literally cannot read QR codes, never had this problem with local coins or some every other place. Don't waste your time with the two way atms you can get here and have to go home because there's no money yet the atm still shows on the map. this business makes no sense as us citizens can just open bank accounts and connect it to coinbase. Tried to give me discount codes, in pretty sure there's no option to enter them. They just sent me messages of codes I probably couldn't/literally I couldn't get to using for the machine models they need to fix.
