We have been using Darwins for about a decade. We didn't have issues early on, but the last few years have been pretty rough. Not receiving orders when scheduled, being told our credit card wasn't working when it was fine (month after month), picking up order at the warehouse and having it wrong. Still hanging in there, but (maybe) cutting jobs there has made a difference.
The first dog we started on Darwin's had a life expectancy of 12-14 years. He lived to be 17+ and was puppyish healthy up until the last 2 months of his life. We have been giving our dogs Darwin's for 14 years now. When we acquired one of our current dogs, Cha, on 11/21/2019. He had an almost daily problem with bowel movements and we accepted the challenge. We switched him to Darwin's the same dog food as our other dog, Di. A month after starting Cha on Darwin's, his bowel problems began to lessen, and about six (6) months after giving him Darwin's, we realized that Cha was NOT having regular problems except on EXTREMELY RARE occasions and now it has been years since his last bowel problem (2021). Also, after a couple of months on Darwin's diet, his coat had gone from course and dull, to soft and shiny. Cha has not had any more problems to this day, he is a healthy dog. We moved to a rural town and we love having the food delivered to the door. An email from Darwin's notifies us of the date of its arrival so we are prepared. Darwin's worked with us to determine the exact amount to send for each delivery. As long as we have dogs, we will purchase Darwin's to feed our dogs. We are extremely appreciative of Darwin's.
I have had some troubles with GLS with your deliveries - wish you’d go back to UPS.

My dog, Gracie, loves the food. In fact, she wolfs it down! It is convenient to store and use and I love the auto ship program. I never run out and if I need to make adjustments to quantity or ship date, it's easy to do. My dogs have been on Darwin's for 20 years and I can't say enough good things about their product.

Easy to order, customer service is always helpful, and my dog's tummy issues cleared right up after starting to feed. I also like how easy it is to use (my kids can even feed the dog safely) - as a vegetarian, I don't want to deal with a lot of portioning and mess!
We moved from Washington State to NM almost 7 yrs. Ago. We had a holistic vet and we made our own food for a while. But, when we heard about Darwins, we turned to them to save us a lot of extra time. Our dogs loved the food and we never had any problems with any dogs. The Darwins helped with their prestine health. So, when we moved to NM, we thought we couldn’t get Darwins anymore. We only have 2 dogs now and although we had to down the amount we bought for 4 dogs, we wanted to continue to include this very excellent food in the lives of our dogs now. We have an Aussi who is 12 yrs. Old decided we would continue 10 that would be part of their diet. I do believe that it is a very excellent food and have never had any recalls or problems with it at all. This company is an excellent company with very good customer service. If you need help with anything, they are there to help you. That’s something I value big time. Our dogs love it, have thrived on it and eat their food with relish. It’s worth the money and sure saved us a lot of hours trying to make our own. Thank you Darwins for being with us so many years.
Darwin’s is the best pet food company out there. It is definitely expensive, and difficult to travel with, and requires a lot of freezer space (we bought a mini freezer just for the cat food) but I decided long ago that truly loving my pets means giving them the highest quality food there is. The minimally processed ingredients have kept my cats healthy for years. It shows in how much energy my cats have, how healthy their coats are, and they’ve never had any bathroom issues. No living being should eat highly processed food for their entire lives, and Darwin’s is the perfect raw, whole food option. For as long as I have cats or dogs in my life I will always choose Darwin’s to keep my companions happy and healthy.
Both of my dogs started eating Darwin Raw diet when they were pups and have never had ear infections and have beautiful coats. Darwins has kept my dogs health and fit. I highly recommend this food and found the customer service is excellent and alway able to answers any questions I may have.
I have used Darwin's for many years. Darwin's helped my last old dog live to over 12 years, he was ill too and Darwin's helped him keep his food down and live many more years. Now we have two dogs that eat Darwin's, one could not eat kibble at all, she came to us as a rescue, vet was trying all kinds of kibbles, we knew what to do and put right on Darwin's, immediately she kept her food down and there was NO MORE puking. I always receive excellent help whenever I call for any reason. They bend over backwards to help you if there is a problem. This is an excellent company and their product is wonderful, high quality and they have a budget line and a higher quality line. I recommend this company and their product wholeheartedly!
I have been using Darwin’s since my dog was just a few months old and still using them 9 years later..I decided to cook the meat rather than the raw diet and my dog has never had any medical conditions at all on this diet..he is still running around like a 2 year old border collie even at 9 years old..I wouldn’t bother with all those other expensive real dog food options..been a happy customer for years
This Company has the best Customer Service and I do use two other companies for my dogs raw food. I have been using Darwin's for over 5 years and they have always stood by their products and service!
I switched my cat over to Darwin’s after increasing weight gain from prescription urinary food. Since the switch 2.5 years ago, my cat has lost 4lbs, his coat is much smoother and shinier, and he has not had any issues with urinary blockages. I have been very pleased with his results on Darwin’s and would not hesitate to feed it for any future pets!
My two dogs have been eating Darwin's food for about 8 years now. And they are 11 and 12 years old. They are extremely healthy, and do not have any of the bad side effects from eating commercial processed kibble. Because they have been eating a species appropriate diet for so long, they do not have to be treated for pests( fleas, ticks, mites etc) because they have strong immune systems. They have great skin and coats. They have ample amounts of energy. I worked at a pet supply store for 7 1/2 years and educated myself on why I don't ever want to feed my dogs kibble. It is dead food with poor quality ingredients. That creates health problems in the long run. My dogs only go to the vet for senior screenings. And occasional teeth cleanings. Thank You Darwin's for making it easier to feed good quality raw food to my little fur babies.
We have used Darwin’s for 12 years now. The quality of the dog food has changed drastically. We always have to pick huge chunks of fat out of the meat. It is so bad, that even after picking out the chunks, our dog feels need to rub her tongue on the carpet after finishing a meal. This is a new behavior of hers. We noticed the quality changed about a year ago. We have called and spoken to representatives but nothing is done. With 12 years of ordering this food, we should definitely be able to notice a change, especially chunks of fat. The food is not nearly as clean as it once was, just a year ago. Something changed. Looking for new vendor now.
This has to be the most ridiculous company I’ve ever dealt with. I have been using them for 3 months now and I have never been so unbelievably stressed out and angry with an organization in my life. They will only use UPS despite every single employee they have knowing that the customer will not ever receive any sort of tracking information whatsoever unless you take an hour or two out of your day to call them on the phone and go through multiple reps then they will email it you. Then UPS won’t deliver the package until a day after they are supposed to. The products like many other reviews state are haphazardly packaged and have severe quality issues. Nothing you say or do has any effect whatsoever. I spend 250 every 3 weeks and they treat me like I am an inconvenience to deal with when all I want is to know where my package that I’ve paid for is. They charge your card 2 weeks before they ship for some ridiculous reason. I have literally never heard or seen some of the practices this company routinely uses. It is beyond ridiculous and disrespectful and borderline negligent. You will never get what you pay for. You will be charge ridiculously early and when you do get your product it’s 25% non edible and has a packaging problem. Then they can’t even be bothered to reply to this review with my name. Idk who Joe is but it further shows their ignorance and arrogance. Leave me tf alone!!! I literally hate everything about you!! Stop fing sending me a thousand messages and emails. This is literally the definition of harassment you cockroaches!!
I am a new customer and have sent multiple emails asking for a consultation and explanation and all I hear is crickets. My dog is supposed to have about 1.2 pounds of food per day, yet they sent me 20 2lb packages, enough for 40 days -- but they scheduled my next delivery in 3 weeks. On top of that, the only delivery notification that I received about my order was on the day it arrived and it was 3 hours earlier than the notification indicated. It was 70 degrees here that day, but fortunately, the food was not thawed. My latest email advised that I would be canceling my subscription if I did not hear from anyone by the close of business today. Again, crickets. True to my word, I am canceling this subscription and going elsewhere.
We have 2 dogs on a Darwin’s diet. One of our dogs, Gilbert, is 14+ yrs old and was showing signs of kidney failure this summer and at one point we thought that we were going to lose him. Our vet had us shift over to the Darwin’s Kidney Support diet along with added Phos-Bind powder and he has done a 180 turn around! He’s peppy, wagging his tail and smiling. Food is truly medicine! The kidney diet is lower in protein to help kidneys and it smells amazing. It has turmeric and cinnamon in it as well. Not to mention, the customer service at Darwin’s is amazing! Thank you again for a superior product and for giving me more time with my little old man that I love so much.

Mar 12,2024Darwin's was early on the raw food market, and provided a good service. But there were usually aggravating problems: leaking packages, misdeliveries, recalls. I'm the first one to acknowledge that there can be different standards for food for dogs and people. But why not go out of your way to raise the standard, and stay above criticism? Our dog has been sick ever since the last recall. The lot numbers on food we fed her didn't match but were packaged on the same date. Her vet bills have been in the thousands of dollars. The time and effort involved in caring for her and working out a new diet have been extraordinary. I don't know if there's a connection to Darwin's, but had the company not been so casual about its practices, it would not be even plausible.
