Our cat wouldn’t touch it, so we have $90 worth of food to throw out.

My experience with Darwin’s overall has been really good. I have two bengal cats and our breeder recommending this feed to us and my older bengal LOVES it. My younger one has kind of started to turn the turkey one away and the chicken one away so I’m excited they came out with beef. I’m super excited for him to try it and hopeful that he’ll love it. If anyone had recommendations to get him to stop turning it away please respond! Only one of them has started to do this. I started feeding them twice a day now I’m down to one. But so far the experience has been wonderful, my order always comes on time and well kept. Thank you!

I ordered the product awhile back and it never arrived. Suddenly I receive 2 boxes. With barely any room in my freezer for anything else. I open the first box and put the product away and it seems ok. I opened the second box which wad clearly damaged and bloody and wet all over the outer box. When I opened a product from the second box to serve my kitten it smelled horrific. The second product I opened from the second was also terribly smelly again not suitable to eat. Clearly the entire box was spoiled. I do not ever want your product charged to me or mailed to me again. This is a chance I cannot take with my pet. I need to have reliable safe food source on hand for my pet. Clearly, this service is not that, especially not for the price.

I’ve been a customer for several years and am happy with the product. However, the customer service has fallen off. My card was charged on the regular day, but my dog food will be arriving nearly a week late?? When food is shipped on a schedule it causes TREMENDOUS anxiety to not know how you’re going to feed your pets. I contacted customer service twice with no response. I was left hanging in the wind with no information. I had to go buy supplemental food, which I am lucky enough to be able to do. What about people who strictly budget for this?? Feeling very let down by people who purport to care about feeding animals.

My cats have been on Darwin's for almost 2 months now. I thought I was going to have a hard time getting them to switch from dry & canned food to raw food but surprisingly it took about 4-5 days. I slowly went down on their dry food and increased the raw food daily, also, I would not leave the food out longer than 30 minutes. To get them to actually eat the raw food, instead of just smelling it and being turned off by it, I would put a little bit of Delectable's Squeeze Ups, which is basically cat junk food, on top of the raw food. At about the 5th day they were eating 100% raw food and boy are they loving it. Almost immediately I saw a difference in there activity level and there is at least 50% less poop in the litter box and it doesn't smell...seriously there is no smell. Mordachi (who is overweight) & Blue are excited about eating and Mordachi is starting to feel just a little bit lighter. I was spending a little more feeding them a Rx canned food, one for weight loss and the other was for Blue who would throw up the dry food due to hair balls. He hasn't thrown up once since he has been on the raw food. I know if I feed them quality food now they will have less health issues later.

We have been working with Darwins for more than a year now and we have been happy with the raw diet for both our German Shepherds. We tried Darwin's raw diet for more than a year and recently (about 2 months back) decided to switch to Darwins 100% for both of them. Recently we have been having problems with billing – initially it was our problem. We got into some fraud and our cards had to cancelled and new ones had to be issued. But later on, we ran into tech issues on your side where your payment processor couldn’t process our payments since we had changed more than 3 cards in their system. Their customer agents / specialists told us that the system can only work up to 3 cards max and after that things don’t work. I find that very silly. That was a frustrating moment for us. But this week has been one of the worst experiences. Here is what unfolded: - Friday early morning billing failed due to their tech issues. No communication was sent out to us. - I checked later Friday morning and realized billing failed. Called customer agent – she wasn’t able to place an order. She promised a call back that never happened. - Monday came around. I called again - another customer agent tried to push the order through this time for a UPS delivery and that failed. She promised a call back and that never happened. - I waited for 2 hrs and made another call – another customer agent tried to push the order again and it failed again. She promised a call back and finally did (I was so glad). She said she worked with Tech Support and figured out what was going on. Finally she took my card details and put the order through and made notes on the order to be sent through UPS (picked up on Tuesday). - Tuesday came around – I waited for a confirmation from UPS – that never happened. So I called Darwins again (this is the 4th call by the way) – and this time the customer agent said there was a miscommunication and the order was not picked up. This customer agent re-scheduled the order for pickup and I can only wonder if it will ever show up at my door step. Technically this order was supposed to be delivered on Friday and today is Tuesday and it still hasn’t made it yet. Its delayed by 4 days and all due to their problems – technical difficulties + incapable customer service / agents + confused scheduling systems. Looks like an absolute disaster in how they run the company – at least the delivery side of it. We are spending close to a thousand dollars each month with them and this type of customer treatment is just disappointing. All this while we ran out of food for dogs on Sunday evening. German Shepherds have sensitive stomachs and changing their food because of the stupidity of a few people on their side and causing them discomfort is ridiculous. I wished I never transitioned our dogs 100% to Darwins. This is my personal assessment as a long standing customer. This is the not the first time this happened. Last time (2 weeks back), the same thing happened. They missed but luckily we had some extras and they shipped it on Monday. But this time they absolutely screwed it up.

Giving our cats the best is paramount to our family's hearts and minds. And when it comes to the food that we feed them, only the best will ever do. About seven (7) years ago, we decided to move our cats off of canned and dry foods, due to the amount of mystery preservatives that were added to them, in order to keep them shelf-stable. After a whole lot of research, and an in-depth conversation with our veterinarian, we concluded that a raw diet was the best way to keep our cats both healthy and happy. But switching to a raw diet was not that simple, as there were so many companies out there that all claimed to be the best. When we first started the raw diets, we originally were feeding our cats a brand that I will not mention by name, as I don't want to defame them with what I am about to tell you. While our cats enjoyed the raw diet right from the start, and where we noticed in the first month a positive change in their daily wellness, we one day noticed one of our cats pawing at his food. On close inspection, we found a 1-inch strip of plastic lodged in his food. Working with that brand's customer service, they would not take responsibility, and had the audacity to blame us and the retailer we bought the food from, for this unfortunate occurrence, when it was clearly a manufacturer default. This put us in a bind, as we could see that a raw diet worked, but where we now needed to find a new company that we could put our cat's wellbeing into full trust, while also finding a company that would stand behind their product, where we as pet parents would not have a similar negative experience again. This is where Darwin came to the rescue, and across four (4) cats and seven (7) years later, we have not looked back, but have only lived every day with Darwin in a positive light. Our cats are very finicky when it comes to food - be it from their meals, to the treats they eat, down to the water that they drink. Doing our own research, and speaking with our veterinarian (and a couple of our vet-techs) again, we trialed several brands, where every time we pulled-out the Darwin, our cats would happily eat their bowls clean (just in case you are curious, we feed them Darwin's chicken for cats). When you open a package of Darwin, there is no freezer burn (like you will see with other brands), where the meat itself has a nicely fresh and pink hue, and where the food itself has a "fresh" meat smell (just like when you buy meat for your family, where you can smell a clean meat scent, without any hint of of spoilage). Each packet of meat is clearly labeled with the lot number and date of manufacture, so that you can confirm the levels of freshness that you are paying for. This level of freshness is what you want in a raw diet, where Darwin does everything to ensure that you are only feeding your pets the best. For years, our cats welcome meal-time, where Darwin was (and still is) front-and-center. And having a relationship to one single brand for this long, it is expected that there will be hiccups along the way. And our relationship with Darwin has seen a hiccup or two, but for any hiccup that has ever occurred, Darwin has always been quick to accommodate us without question, and do so very comfortingly and quickly. On one (1) such occasion, the issue was on the fault of the shipping company, where Darwin without question sent us a new batch immediately and overnight. And on two (2) occasions (one as recent as today), our cats snubbed the food in the batch, where Darwin kindly worked with us to get the batches replaced, so that we could keep our cats happy and healthy without interruption. This level of customer service from Darwin is not only very professional, but also very kind and supportive, where even the customer service representatives demonstrated heartfelt care and concern for our cats' wellbeing. This type of customer service experience from Darwin is truly the cherry on-top of a brand experience that we (our cats included) already love. A big shout-out goes to the Darwin customer service representative that helped us today (Anna, you rock!!! Thank you for your kindness, Anna, and thank you for your care of our cats). If you are looking for a healthy alternative to food for your pets (be they cats or dogs), our family highly recommends Darwin. Between food your pets will love to eat, to the peace of mind it will give you (and your veterinarian), down to the excellent customer service you will get when you need it... you simply cannot beat Darwin. Give Darwin a try and see for yourself... you'll be happy that you did.

I have been a customer for 3+ years and my pets do very well on this formula. Wish they had another protein that is more palatable to cats than lamb but I am able to feed the chicken and turkey. I have found that I have to keep an extra week of product in the freezer because periodically they do not ship and tell me that they are unable to track it or find out from the shipper what happened to it. Then I have to wait another week to receive my shipment. Makes no sense but there is no getting to an answer and at the end of the day, I can’t go to the grocery and buy cat food.

BE CAREFUL WITH TURKEY: Darwin's worked for my dog for about 2 years until quality of Turkey started to become very inconsistent. We'd find 4-packs of grey/ discolored turkey patties placed within our shipments frequently (fortunately we were able to salvage some by cooking thoroughly) and eventually my dog began refusing the food all together. I was pretty desperate to make this work - he has GI issues that restrict the meat-portion of his diet to, essentially, Turkey only - but customer service didn't want to bother looking into the problem. Then the same issue happened to my mom's turkey orders, from several states away. Customer service failed her too so we've both canceled out subscriptions. Oh well, my dog's happier without it.

We have been Darwin's customers for two years. Our latest shipment arrived totally defrosted (I received it directly, it didn't sit, but we are in the midst of a massive heatwave). I contacted Darwin's immediately. Customer Care suggested we measure the temp. to salvage anything possible and offered to sent a complete replacement shipment right away. Sadly, all of the food was above the safe temp. and I hate that it is going to waste, but I was extremely pleased with the Customer Care I received.

Do not order from this company or even attempt a trial. They are a scam. I did the trial for my dog and cancelled my subscription immediately after placing the trial order in case my pup does not like the food. This was on 08/09/22. Well of course he did not enjoy the food no matter what i tried, especially the turkey. Then two days on 08/24/22 I was charged $421.20 from Darwin’s and of course I'm confused because I know for a fact that I cancelled the Autoship, just to see that the cancellation never went through. I sent an email to Darwin immediately requesting a cancellation. The next morning, 08/25/22, I checked my email and saw no response, so I had to step out of work to call because I did not want the order to ship. Well the customer service told me that the order has already shipped and there’s no way to stop it. I told him that I sent an email immediately after the money came out of my credit card, so why wasn’t it cancelled then? And he said that emails take about two days to be responded to, which means that by then it’s already too late? WHY would you wait TWO days to respond to a customer, knowing full and well that orders normally arrive within two business days and there’s no way to return or get a refund?? So now I’ll be out over $400 with food that my dog will not eat and I have no freezer space for. This is ridiculous. And their only solution is for me to donate with half a refund. Fast forward… Received the packages today, 08/26/22, and most of the food was thawed already with blood leaking in the box. This is just a huge mess. I don’t know what kind of mishandling happened during shipping for this to happen. Of course valet trash will not come and take this, so I had to lug these big boxes all the way to the dumpster because I am not even attempting to donate something that has already thawed. I will not put some other dog in danger and I can’t leave these boxes in my kitchen just leaking like this. I am highly upset and have never had this bad of an experience with a pet food company before. I wish I could post photos of the bloody mess.

I have been purchasing Darwin’s for my dogs for over 9 years. The quality is the best and the customer service is amazing. I have never once had any issues with the quality and standards of Darwin’s raw food. I stick with the organics select and have tried all the options of meats. I was referred to Darwin’s from my veterinary who was treating our dog that had cancer at the time. I wish I had known about Darwin’s sooner! Thank you Darwin’s for providing high quality nutritious food for my fur babies.

Received my order and the majority had a variety of other health issue packages, particularly in canine, not feline. I spoke with customer service and manager Daisy and they reshipped a replacement overnight, which was even worse from the original order received. All the food enclosed were not mine and they did not place freezer packs inside, so all the food had to be thrown out. When I stated my concerns from the first order being wrong, they deliberately sabotaged the second order on a holiday weekend. I strongly advise purchasing from another company for your furry companions meals. The owner states he provides all animals safe and quality food. Then why all the recalls involving salmonella? States on FDA website that Darwin’s has failed to acknowledge food safety as a top priority. This company needs to be shut down before it kills more dogs or humans for handling the food.

We switched our 2 homemade-raw fed cats to Darwin’s when our oldest was about 6 months old — and our younger kitten at about 4 months. They absolutely love their meals, and Darwin’s is significantly cheaper than buying them wet food on a monthly basis, or feeding them homemade raw beef-based meals. I wish everyone knew the benefits of raw feeding and just how convenient it can really be!

Our Great Pyrenees Loves Darwins. When we first got her as a pup, we tried so many commercial kibble and canned foods and she was so sick all the time and vet visits for allergies and ear infections, etc. When we switched her completely to Darwins Naturals, she began to shine, and no more vet bills. She is 85lbs now at 10 months old and worth spending the money for a raw diet. Darwins customer service has always been good to us. The online autoship system works great, just don't forget to remind yourself when your next order is due to ship because it's your responsibility to change it if needed. Thank you Darwin's for offering great quality raw food. We wouldn't buy from anywhere else.

I had purchased the trial thinking I could just sign up for the actually autoship if my cats liked it but they would rather starve then eat it so I didn't log back in to the website after that. I woke up this morning to find out I had been charged 178 for a subscription I never wanted or agreed to. I called customer service and they said there was nothing they could do and that they need a 2 day notice to cancel a order but I never even got an email telling me it was coming so how would I cancel something I didn't even know I had. Customer service is a joke.

I did a few trials from various vendors of raw pet food, but Darwin’s ended up being the clear winner. They offer high quality food for both dogs and cats; in my experience shopping online it seems like most places specialize in either/or. They also offer different price tiers, and although the less expensive food isn’t organic, it’s still very good quality. There’s some things to keep in mind when deciding to switch your pet(s) to a raw food diet, though. First, it’s going to be expensive. Really expensive. That’s just the reality of buying from a vendor that does all of the work for you. From the extensive searching I did, you’re unlikely to find it for less than what Darwin’s charges. Second, it’s not as easy as filling a big bowl of kibble and, frankly, the whole thing is pretty effin gross. You have to be sure to be sanitary, meaning, using a fresh bowl for each meal, washing your hands, A LOT, and probably most importantly, you have to be sure to put any remainder in the fridge. Letting it sit out can get your pet sick (probably pretty unlikely), and if you don’t keep this is mind, you may be quick to blame the company for giving you “bad food”. I would only go for it if you have enough freezer space for a lot of food. If you buy over a certain amount (20lbs I think), you will get an extra 10% off with free shipping. It makes it much more justifiable in my mind, I’m able to buy enough food for two medium sized dogs and a 16lb Maine Coon that will last for 3 months, and the total is about $430. Seems like a lot, but as far as raw food diets go, it’s a killer deal. Lastly, if you are like me, you may be turned off by their packaging. It’s the only gripe I had with them, they use a LOT of styrofoam and plastic. BUT, I just got my most recent order (5/13/22) and they have completely switched over to fully recyclable insulation! Do the trial, it’s an awesome deal, and see what you think! It’s very easy to cancel, they have the button right below your subscription tab and you can cancel/pause within seconds. No calling, no back and forth emailing (if they even reply) and guilt tripping, like just about every other company.
