Aug 23,2024I could not more enthusiastically recommend Diabetes Life Solutions and Matt's team for life insurance for diabetics! I'm a Type 1 diabetic and have been denied by my workplace carriers for additional coverage for nearly a decade. I was always met with a blanket "declined; history of diabetes", which is frustrating since my T1D is rather well controlled and I'd consider myself overall healthier than many average Americans. It just felt that there was no personal consideration to my individual situation at all. When I found Matt's team on the internet, I reached out thinking I might get a policy, but that it would almost certainly be prohibitively expensive. I thought it didn't hurt to try. BOY WAS I WRONG! Within 30 minutes of submitting the initial inquiry form, Matt personally reached out to me with a ton of helpful information. He explained exactly what the process would look like, that he was nearly certain we'd find a policy for me, and was even able to give some "back of the envelope" numbers on what to expect for premiums. I was shocked at how affordable they seemed! We talked on the phone within a day or so of that initial contact and Matt patiently answered many questions I had, gave me a ton of helpful insights in what to expect, and overall provided a top-notch customer service to a new client. Then, the roadblocks came up. Based on my unique diagnosis of T1D and a less-than-stellar A1C reading, the underwriters who initially processed my application did not immediately like what they saw and declined my application. In the past, this is where everything died, with a simple "sorry, declined" message. Not with Matt though! He contacted each of the underwriters and got detailed feedback as to what the concerns were. He passed this along to me and explained how we could resolve the issues; in my case, they were concerned about some specific notes my endo had made in my patient chart that was being misunderstood by the underwriters. I was able to work with my doc to amend the patient notes and provide clarity as to the reality of my condition. Matt then personally took all of these updates, including further test results with improved A1C levels, back to the underwriters and explained my personal situation to each of them. In the end, we were able to get me approved for a very affordable policy for me and my family! Overall, the process took 8-10 months of starting the conversation to having a policy in place; however, these delays were completely due to waiting on my doc and occasionally waiting on underwriter review. Matt and his team move FAST! Whenever I sent an update to his team from my doc, they had updates for me within 1 or 2 days. I suspect that for 95% of diabetics (without confusing doctor notes slowing things down like I had), you could have a policy in place within 2-4 weeks or less! Not only did Matt secure a series of great policy options for me, he has helped plan out a roadmap for my coverage with recommendations that, with some better A1C and diabetes management, we can expect to see some better rates in the next 12 months or so be available to me. The key to me is that I now have a very meaningful policy to take care of my family should something happen to me. We have a security blanket that has been unreachable to us for the last ~10 years thanks to Matt and his team. In a world where everything seems to "suck" and customer service and people simply caring about their work is mostly gone, working with Matt and his team has been a breath of fresh air. Whether you have a simple or complicated situation as a diabetic, I strongly encourage you to reach out to Matt and Diabetes Life Solutions right away - I know you'll be thrilled like I was.

Aug 12,2024I stumbled upon Diabetes Life Solutions when researching online for reasonable Term Life insurance for Diabetics. Despite some of the negative reviews you can find online, I had a fantastic experience working with Matt Schmidt. He was very knowledgeable in his field and is a stright shooter. Across multiple interactions (text, email, phone calls) I found Matt to be very professional and I appreciated the level of information he provided around the insurance I was shopping for. Matt and his team are doing a great service to the Diabetic community and I am extremely grateful he was able to secure a Term policy much cheaper and quicker than I was able to find without an agent.

Jun 18,2024ZERO stars. Should of read the negative reviews first. MATT L. SCHMIDT was harassful and burdensome. It's clear I haven't been the only one to feel this way (see previous reviews with the same experience). Sending multiple emails repeating his last email (to which I had not yet replied to) then "closing my file" which is clearly a tactic to try to pressure someone to quickly buy the insurance, because I hadn't responded within his allowed time frame (3 days). His exact words were that I was the problem because I couldn't "answer a simple question". He sent a 2,600 (!!!!) word email for me to try to comb through and then didn't approve of me taking time to look it over. I've never experienced a sales tactic as bad as his before. It became more clear with each passing email that he didn't want to spend any time finding me a policy but instead wanted to quickly make a sale and move on. Never ever ever would I recommend. There are so many other companies out there that will take better care of you without pressuring you into a policy. These policies are long term so think very wisely. Sure as heck would not want a 20/30 year relationship with him or this company as my policy holder. -Ashlee (wife of T1D) ***Editing after their response: Proof here in the way they handle their clients. Condescendingly saying "we hope this reply isn't too long for you". Being upset an inquirer didn't respond within 72 hours!!! in the middle of their week, about how they'd like to move forward with/without testing??? and then typing that out and still posting it as a representation of how they treat others. This shows that they will continue to treat prospective clients the exact same and don't see their actions as childish/unprofessional as they are. Thankful to actually be a part of the T1D community so I can share this review not only online, but in person with others who should steer clear. How disappointing to have this company represent the diabetes community. They don't deserve to have such a distinction. We have found someone that doesn't claim to be diabetes "life solution" and they were more sincere and helpful to us in the first conversation and we couldn't be more thankful. There is much better out there. Please go look, talk to more than one person/company. But skip this one, save yourself the time and trouble.

Mike was able to get coverage for me at an affordable price and within the time deadline I needed it by. I highly recommend Mike Schmidt. He is caring, he listened to what I needed and he found a policy within my budget. Mike kept on top of the process with updates and delivered. I could not ask for a better agent than Mike Schmidt.
