We called Geroge Browns to get a full service of our Kubota lawnmower. We were quoted £500 +VAT for a half day service. An eye watering amount but bearable, given would take a half day and we heard George Browns were reputable. Engineer arrived promptly was friendly enough but then left promptly, not an hour and a half later. We found out later that the oil had not been filled nor was it clear that a full service had been untaken as described on the phone. A month later we received an invoice in the post (no electronic correspondence was made). I emailed to query the invoice, with no reply. Rob Adkins called at 8.27am three months later in a frustrated tone asking why the invoice had not been paid. I explained we had sent an email and that the £500 charge was not acceptable for an hour and half service. He was combative on the phone, called back several times, before finally agreeing to reduce the invoice to £383+VAT, arguing that there were over £100 of material costs. His justifications were flimsy and illogical - £383 for an hour half work is ridiculous. We would not recommend Geroge Browns to anyone, there service is no better than average, extortionate costs, antiquated invoicing systems and unpleasant staff.

From start to finish I got prompt efficient service. Excellent price too for the product I purchased . The person i dealt with was Keith. Cannot fault my experience and would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic Service and Assistance in choosing the correct Ride On Lawnmower for our garden. The mower was fully assembled and swiftly delivered to our house by Henry - who then did a very thorough handover, running me through all the relevant safety and operational details. Could not have asked for a better service.

Exactly what you want from a local business. We needed a few different bits of equipment to maintain the greenery around our industrial units and the George Browns Team were extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and finding the right kit to suit our requirements. We are getting on really well with our Mountfield Lawn Mower and Stihl Strimer and even our customers have commented how nice our entrance looks. Thank you

I was really impressed with their customer service as i had a few questions about what ride on mower would be best for my set up. I also needed to purchase a strimmer alongside and again the team was very helpful. I will definitely be coming back to George Browns for more Garden Machinery and have already recommended to my friends.

After a recent visit to the Leighton Buzzard store to buy a ride-on mower, I was pleasantly surprised at how many were available to view. Their showroom sales person gave great advice and I have a New Stiga heading my way ready for the start of the season. Would highly recommend for all garden machinery needs.

Having recently started my own gardening business, I have found Browns of Leighton Buzzard very helpful indeed , they are all very knowledgeable and give you impartial help and advice. Which I found to be a massive positive for myself and the business, it's enlightening to know that locally there is a store that will go that extra mile to support their customers. First time buyer for a ride on mower. George Browns were recommended by another retailer who were really helpful with information but I lived outside their delivery area so they suggested GB. I was very impressed with the way I was handed to the web sales team and then I met Henry, who advised, quoted, PDI'd the equipment, delivered and did a great handover. Then I went back and bought another tool from him....excellent service, well done that man! No hidden costs, don't be fooled by what may seem cheaper at first from other suppliers, who then hit you with hidden costs.

This company also sells fishing equipment and supplies. I placed an order for goods and the next day received a telephone call to say one of the items was out of stock. I asked for a refund to my card as this is one of the options I was given. So far so good. I have never received this refund. I waited for a week or so and then telephoned the company, leaving a message. I have found the number given just rings and rings so I had no other option. I then emailed the company using there own enquiry form (twice now) and nothing happens, no reply at all. The amount of money involved is just over £11.00. It is not huge, but it is a lot to me. They have been told this in my messages. I would avoid this company, they do not seem to care to much once they have had your money. Order:187817 Update 30/11/23: I have now received the credit to my account.

Brilliant service. Prompt replies to email queries, quick turn around for delivery from order date. Spot on delivery time with a full explanation on hand over of mower. Also followed up with email with notes on hand over and warranty details. Very professional and extremely pleased with the service. Thank you

My mother took her strimmer in for repair during the summer when we needed it most. They kept it for nearly a month without telling us what the problem was so I called into the shop one day. I was told that the person who does the repair was on holiday so it would be ready the following Monday or Tuesday. I gave them the benefit of the doubt but there was still no call 1.5 weeks later, so I phoned for an update. This time I was told I'd have to wait ANOTHER MONTH for a part, making a total of over 2 months, again when we needed the strimmer most. I couldn't afford to wait that long so, in frustration, I went to pick up the strimmer to make alternative arrangements. I was then told that I would have to pay £51.30 for investigative work (!!!) before I could take the strimmer away. I tried to remonstrate with the manager concerned but he told me it wasn't their fault because of supply problems and I had to pay. (I asked who I could write to with a complaint but was told it was the manager I'd just spoken to, which would have been useless.) I got the strimmer sorted and it turned out the part Browns said was delayed wasn't actually needed in the first place. The investigative work couldn't have been more than pulling the starter cord a couple of times! What they should have done was warned my mum PRIOR to repair that it was going to take a while and called their customer BEFORE we had to chase it up. Also, if the main repair technician is on holiday they need to get someone else trained to cover him. Lastly, they should have offered us the option to take the strimmer back free of charge and we would have kept using Browns. Now, we will never use the shop again because of their terrible customer service.

I purchased a Stihl Petrol Blower brand new from George Browns in August 2022 for £325 to help clear the leaves in my garden and only ever used the ready mixed fuel also purchased from George Browns. Earlier this month the leaf blower stopped working and would not start so I took it back to George Browns. They have just confirmed they want to charge me £204 to repair it as they say the carburetor is blocked and it is not under warranty even though it is only a year old and it must have been blocked by me. This is totally unacceptable as I have kept the leaf blower in the garage when not using it and used the recommended fuel supplied by George Browns.

I purchased a chipper shredder online and it arrived disassembled. This isn’t made clear on the website. I had to get a local dealer to fit it together and transport a very heavy, cumbersome object in my saloon car. When I finally began to use it, the Stihl chipper shredder didn’t work properly. Browns want me to return the chipper shredder, disassembled in the original box. It’s difficult to get hold of people as they are out of the office. I have one contact now, but the whole business has turned into a nightmare.
