The lock is great and gives me peace of mind that it will not be cut off like other locks I have bought. Would be better though if it wasn't black! Had to buy a handlebar string to remind me it's on the bike and also to point it out to thieves as a deterrent. Would be good if there was a way to attach it to the bike without having a back box or having to carry around a rucksack. It is very heave and could potentially be slimmer as the protection lasts so long. Even 10% lighter would make it more useful for using on a road bike, if there was a holder for it.
If you want a manageable lock that doesn't weigh 15 pounds but will also hold off an angle grinder for 20 minutes, this is the one. It's pricey, but so is a nice bike. And no one wants to have to replace a bike they've grown attached to. Plus, you can always use it on your next bike. I also say this having written a comprehensive essay on the topic: "The Completist’s Guide to Bike Security". This is my top e-bike pick.
I bought the D1000 on the Kickstarter, great product so far and service has been great, good communication.
Lock is great. The bag has had some struggles staying completely stable (might be user error).
The lock looks really well made. No attempts at stealing my bike yet so don’t know how effective the lock is yet!
Ok so ...... perfectly happy with the crowd funding side of things and delivery - no problems there. The slight disappointment is the internal dimensions of the lock which limit its usefulness ..... it can't be used with my Aventon Sinch - chunky frame 4" tyres .... and is very difficult to use on the Reise Muller Multicharger ..... so a good idea ...... maybe a new model will solve these issues.
Seems like a very secure lock!
The lock looks good but remains unused.
It’s on the heavy side and needs a pretty small and close-by object to lock to but it’s a great product overall.
Excellent angle grinder resistant locks. Well constructed. This was a kickstarter project and I was kept well informed of the progress.
Easy on line purchase, several videos are available showing its size, shape and capability, Excellent lock, easy to use, just fits rear wheel of my motorbike, ‘protective’ surround can be a bit tight to fit smaller diameter chain links, I’ve made a ‘carrier’ to securely mount the lock to the bike when not in use,
The product is great and I use it to lock my best bike. The process of purchase and delivery was fine, if lengthy, but communication was comprehensive.
Delivered on time and product surpassed expectations. Great quality and beyond any standard level of bike security.
Worth the wait…hopefully it will deter people.
I truly believe this new Hiplok D1000 is the most secure U-Lock on the market. Form factor is great as well - it fits into bags my larger New York U-Lock won't.
The D1000 is well built and definitely gives me a sense of additional security on my motorcycle. The Kickstarter was well organised and we got plenty of messages.
Came across this "un-cuttable" U-lock last year on Kickstarter and just went for it. Peace of mind I guess. It's fine for my racer and fixie around town. I'm not sure it would be good for mountain bikes because it's pretty short and the large frames on these bikes might be a problem. I like the carry bag on the frame. So all in all, good for me.
Extremely well made and substantial lock. Not lightweight but clearly very secure. I've seen the videos of attempts to cut it - all unsuccessful. The carry bag is useful - helps as the lock is heavy and the bag can be attached to a rack etc. I use this lock when in high risk zones - London - and when I'm using my better bikes.
Very solid lock that doesn't damage the frame. Only weak spot: it's a little short and you need to park very close to the poles you want to secure your bike to

Oct 26,2022Good product, easy to use. The good thing about the company was all the updates telling me the status of the product, a lot of firms just leave you hanging hoping your parcel will arrive.
