Listen to the bad reviews! They were right! I ordered some snacks from JapanTaste back in November. I wanted them relatively quickly, so I purchased one of the expedited shipping options (about 7 business days). Fast forward 3 weeks later, I email support asking where my order is. Hadn't even gotten a shipping notification yet for it. Support actually replied to my email and stated my order was ready to go and they would be shipping it out soon. They apologized for the delay. Great. Well another week went by and nothing, so I emailed them again and was told the same thing. It was ready and would be shipping soon. Then, you guessed it, another week went by and I emailed them yet again. I WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. So I replied back saying that its been 5 weeks, either ship it or I'll chargeback my card cause this is ridiculous. Support emailed back almost IMMEDIATELY basically saying "oh wow. Look at that. Here's your shipping label." I still never got a shipping confirmation email. Only knew it was coming because i Subscribed to shipping updates from the carrier, so I got an email from DHL. Another week later and I have finally received my order. Everything came fine and is as described. I have a feeling that if I didn't threaten to chargeback my card, they never would've shipped my order. Only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because I actually got the stuff unlike some others on here. Avoid this website and just use a japanese reshipper like Buyee.
I ordered from this site when they had a sitewide sale. After two weeks with no update, I got worried that I had gotten scammed. I emailed the company to check the status of my order and got a response within 24 hours saying that my order was still being prepared. After another week, I got an automated email from the shipping service with tracking info for my package, and the package arrived 2 days later with the correct items. So, not a scam, just a little slow to pack and ship.

I was very skeptical reading the reviews - I almost cancelled my order of a Takamura SG2 Gyuto 210mm, which has been impossible to find anywhere. My order arrived 3-4 working days earlier and the item is authentic and in perfect condition. I was exchanging emails and speaking on the phone daily with the reps. Granted they respond more quickly over the phone. Also keep in mind that the company is based in Japan, so you will only get responses during Japanese working hours.
Bought cookies got charged for cookies and shipping immediately but haven’t received anything. If I don’t hear from them in 2 days , I will report them as fraud and thieves
I had a such a terrible experience with this website. i placed an order two months before and had no update regarding my order and when I contacted FedEx to follow up regarding my order they informed me that the shipment has been returned back to the seller's warehouse due to a lack of contact details (my phone number and email )that Japanese taste forgot to include in the parcel so FedEx can contact me to receive the order. when I contacted the Japanese teste to inform them with this attaching the FedEx email that says good has been shipped back to them, they keep delaying my refund even after confirming the receiving of the shipment in their warehouse and till now received neither the goods nor my money back. I opened a case with PayPal in order to get the money back and till now the case requires their response and is still on hold. Plllllllllllllllllllllllease do yourself a favor and keep your money unless you don't care then go and purchase from them I spent 115$ and I didn't receive either my order or the money back.

The company should not get 1 star at all. I order 3 bottles of oil and paid additional for 3-day shipping. About later I contacted the company that then provide a tracking number that couldn’t be found via the FedEx website until an additional week later. The package was constantly saying that it was on hold awaiting delivery date. I then contacted the seller who told me that if I have any shipping issues, my $70 would not be refunded since all cancellations should be done within 60 mins of purchasing. Now over a month later, still no package and FedEx say that they have returned the package to the seller without any explanation! I contacted the seller with the FedEx return tracking info and they are saying that I am out of luck since the package was a disposal. What!!!! Very bad service.
I have done two orders with Japanese Taste. Both arrived quickly, the most recent was ordered on Sunday and delivered on Wednesday using their standard shipping option. Everything was well packed and arrived in great condition. I will absolutely order from them again.
Very bad. Even not worth a star. I ordered two collagen powder two month ago. I still not received. There is yes customer service. I don’t know the tracking number. Sent emails to them never replied. Don’t purchase with them! !!!
They will not send to a PO Box. They didn't send my product and didn't refund the money either.
I spent over 300 usd on this website and was a little worried after reading some of the reviews on this website. But thankfully I received everything, well packaged and extremely fast. I'm super happy with my purchase!
I've unfortunately had a really negative experience with Japanese Taste. I placed an order for 2 different sunblocks that I was excited to try on May 9. During the checkout process, and in the confirmation email I received, there was a note that shipping may be delayed due to carrier-related issues, but that I would get an email notification upon shipment with my tracking information. I totally get that, especially with international orders. After about 2 weeks, I reached out to their customer service team since I still hadn't received any tracking information or shipment email, and when I clicked on the "see more details about your order" link in my confirmation email, I simply got a blank page. I was contacted by a customer service agent who said that the package had not only shipped, but was marked as "delivered" by FedEx, and claimed that they had sent me a shipping confirmation email automatically. I double checked with my landlord, neighbors, etc., about a misplaced package (generally not an issue in our neighborhood), but it was nowhere to be found, and I even asked my landlord to look at the Ring doorbell for that day to see if there was a FedEx delivery (there was none). I also searched through my email, junk folder, and deleted folder, but couldn't find any shipment email from Japanese Taste (I had received other emails from Japanese Taste and emails from FedEx about other packages in the interim). I wrote back to the customer service rep letting them know all of this, and asked about a refund or a replacement as I really wanted the product that I had ordered. They told me that before issuing a refund, they had to do "an investigation" and that they would contact FedEx, and they asked me to do the same. I submitted a missing package claim with FedEx, but from previous experience doing so don't have much hope about resolution from that end anytime soon, but have kept following up with them as well. After another week or so, I followed up with the JT customer service rep, and they said that FedEx informed them that the package was left at my front door "because you didn't chose sign option", and they asked me to check for the package again (it had been about a month since the alleged delivery date at this point). I was pretty annoyed at this point as the customer service rep seemed to be putting the issue back on me about not choosing a signature delivery option, even though I never received any tracking or shipping information for this package, so I couldn't have done so anyway. When I reiterated this, they simply asked me to double check for the nonexistent tracking email once more. They asked about the video footage that proves that I didn't receive the FedEx delivery. I know that companies are worried about getting ripped off by customers, but it feels a little ridiculous to have to share 24 hours worth of video doorbell footage with them to prove that I'm not trying to scam them out of 2 bottles of sunblock that I don't have. This is one of the most frustrating customer service experience I've dealt with, and I'm disappointed as I was excited to make other purchases from the site initially, but I don't want to risk losing money on products that aren't ever going to arrive, and then getting stuck in an endless loop with the customer service team. For a company that lists a "Money Back Guarantee" on their website, and states that one of their values is to "put our customers’ interests ahead of our own and know how important it is to earn their trust and long-term loyalty", my entire experience with Japanese Taste has left me feeling like I've been given the run around, and am somehow being blamed for a situation that I had no control over.
Made a first time purchase at JT for Tojiro bread knife on 12 May, and paid for 3-6 days Express Priority shipping. On day 5 i was checking shipping status and realised no shipping information was given. I emailed customer service support on day 6 (18 May). Reply from Ayumi was prompt, I was informed with apologies that manufacturer updated a shortage and JT will receive on 21-28 May, and to allow more time for delivery. I requested Ayumi to process the difference in shipping and it was completed promptly within 4 days. On 26 May, I wrote again to check on status and requested for full refund if there was no update of shipping from manufacturer. 31 May I was updated the Tojiro knife model was discontinued (????!!!) And asked if I like to have a different model shipped to me. Almost 3 weeks later, I did not receive the order, but customer support and processing of refund was very prompt. So JT order system is not reliable, company does not seem to be aware of item availability and status. I decided to order from the usual Amz platform (work out to be a slightly lower price with platform and bank promo, and expect to receive the knife next week.
I ordered Yamaroku Tsurubishio Shoyu Japanese Soy Sauce and House Mayu Black Garlic Oil from their website on May 24th. Both bottles arrived on the 28th, wrapped and packaged well. Don’t pay attention to these negative people who are putting the shipping process down. I was provided with an order number of JT-50724. Although I didn’t receive a tracking number, people need to understand, different country, different shipping process. I will absolutely order from here when I need any Japanese related products! Great job JT!
I ordered from them a few days ago despite reading the comments saying they don't answer emails and you can't track your order etc, and after emailing them yesterday for an update on my order I received a the nicest response no more than 2 hours later. They apologised profusely for the delay, an out of stock product being the cause, and promised to honour their 6-9 day shipping promise. I really don't know where all the hate for this company is coming from, they are very easy to get in touch with and respond quickly to all queries.
I ordered a lot of random items (tokyo banana, some ramens, incense, etc.) and got a quick confirmation of the order. I know that tokyo banana is a very limited shelf life product so I expected the "dry goods" part of the order were assembled first then the perishable items were the last in the box for shipping. So things went a little quiet for about a week after the order when I suddenly got a DHL notice that the package had been scanned in and was in transit. The DHL notice was on Monday 2 May and I received a drop-off notice around 15.00-16.00 Tuesday 3 May. Wow. Just wow. Fast delivery, all the items were carefully packed in the box and it was everything I ordered. I look forward to shopping with Japanese Taste again soon.
Really Sceptical about my recently placed order from India Bearing Order No.: JT-49101 Dated: 07.05.2022 for Takahiro Kettle Shizuku Coffee Drip Pot 0.9L x 1 The contact number mentioned on the website of Japanese Taste is picked up by someone else and not by Customer Support of Japanese Taste themselves. Now I am really worried about my order placed.
