I sold my house using Jellis Craig Doncaster and they make it very obvious once the house is sold that they don't really value your business. Settlement was in December and they didn't even bother sending a gift. It's now February so I assume I won't be getting one. Most places at least send a bottle of wine or a voucher. If you want to feel appreciated as a vendor go elsewhere! They got thousands out of me as a vendor but couldn't even spend $10 to make me feel valued!!
This review relates to the Geelong West branch. This company has no regard for “No Junk Mail” stickers on letterboxes. I rang their MD recently and complained about receiving their junk advertising material. He apologised and said it wouldn’t happen again. Two weeks later, I received another one. This is typical of the arrogance of real estate agents. They are quick to blame the contractors who deliver this junk, however, it’s their sole responsibility. It’s no wonder that real estate agents are at the bottom of the list of trusted professionals. Next time this happens, I’ll be taking legal action.
Terminated rental early due to several circumstances including lack of maintenance by owner and repair work by Jellis Craig Doncaster. Minor items to be taken out of bond money ($350) but agency claiming we owe them $8000. Just unbelievable!!!!!!
Absolutely terrible property mangers. Communication was shocking but worst then that they did not do their job they were pid for. They stopped paying land rates and water bills half way through their management leaving me with $4000 of accrued rates owing which had not been paid from the rental income. The agent also lied to me about authorising use of the car space to a builder. Lie after lie after lie. Untrustworthy and useless.
Avoid like the plague! Anything for a quick buck and easy sale, at anyone’s elses expense. They inflated the property value and what they could sell for to get me onboard, promised they were going work hard on getting a great price, then underquoted it in the marketing materials… advised it was a “tatic”. I requested multiple times the auction be pushed out as it only had been on the market 3 weeks (campaign quote base on 4), pushed me into having it and the relentless pressure put on me the day of auction, after they had lost my tenants, with a 60 day settlement and claiming I would “get early access to the deposit” (which I could not), well under my reserve, and resulting in much worse hardship. I won’t even go into how they handled the transfer of my rental to them. BIGGEST MISTAKE. This is after charging $8500 for a 4 week campaign (market is around $2500) and an exorbitant commission fee. Took full advantage of a single mum, in financial hardship, heavily reliant on the rental income and this property being sold at its reserve. Pretty low hey. They brand themselves as a genuine, transparent, and ethical business culture. If anyone has experienced similar with these guys, please reach out. Particularly with Team Francis and Greg Cusack.
Delivered junk advertising despite two signs including addressed mail only which this advertising material did not comply with. Please fix and refine your practices to be less harmful to the environment and comply with the law.
My recent experience with Will Bennison was an absolute joy. I found Will to be polite, punctual, knowledgeable and, more importantly for me, not pushy. He achieved a great price within a week of the property going on-line officially. I was in the fortunate position of having two prospective purchasers putting in offers and the end result was a very positive one for me. THANK YOU WILL
Can't be contacted for several days, don't refuse for accept my application for 11 days
Probably one of the worst property management teams (Northcote) I've ever had to deal with. We've been without air conditioning or heating in our house for over a month now due to the mismanagement and sheer lack of apathy by Jellis Craig. For any landlord wanting to sign up their property to be managed by this group, please think again!
Jayde Cashion, Claire Reordan and Patreace Gannon were amazing in renting out my house in Fitzroy in very competitive conditions. They really worked tirelessly above and beyond, and gave great feedback about the house and the viewings. I would highly recommend them to rent and manage rental properties.
Everyone my husband and I corresponded with was both professional, energetic and passionate. Our direct leasing agent Tom Cross was fantastic and he should be promoted XD Thanks Jellis Craig!
Disgusting experience from start to still not even finished. Was given a mouldy filthy house and the horrible women Nicola and Zeina at Jellis Craig Inner North did nothing to progress my urgent repairs that were required. I am in a legal battle with them now because of how useless and disgusting they are. Avoid at all costs. I warned you.
Nicole Qui worst agent. no work ethic. Stuff us around with deal after taking deposit.
Was renting an apartment through Jellis Craig based at their Hawthorne office for three years. In that time I had 3 agents that were all great, however Kaylah Kennedy was amazing! She was fabulous to communicate with and always did her best to assist me throughout my tenancy. She was warm, accommodating, friendly and easy to get ahold of. I needed to exit my lease agreement early and she just made the entire process a breeze! I've been in the rental market for a long time and I have never experienced such amazing service! I will miss having such a lovely agent!! Thank you again Kaylah. The team at the hawthorn office were perfect from start to finish.
We purchased a house whilst living abroad. Sellers agent was Jellis Craig. We agreed to rent house using Jellis Craig. We paid Jellis Craig rental commissions for over 10 years. We constantly informed to conduct annual inspections with a family member. Jellis Craig opted for their own approach by conducting it themselves. We threatened them multiple times to listen to us or lose the business. We advised Jellis Craig on many occasions the house and gardens were were not being maintained to a satisfactory standard. Each time we were advised the tenants were wonderful. We had to point out that smashed kitchen tiles, broken kitchen draws, holes in curtains, damaged carpets, pests in the roof and significant garden overgrowth, trees dead as they would not water, blocked drains - all indicators of inadequate care. We believe Jellis Craig willfuly withheld information on damage from us so as not to inflame tensions with the tenant. When the tenants finally left, Jellis Craig stated the house was fine. They gave us the tired old line that any damage was fair wear and tear. Tenants did not clean a window, mow lawns, replace dead plants, clean oven, clean curtains, etc. we were advised by Jellis Craig as landlords we could not do anything. If we went took tenants to VCAT we would lose. Everything we said to Jellis Craig fell on deaf ears. We can only assume Jellis Craig did not give a damn. They only wanted their commission and were prepared to do nothing meaningful. Our biggest regret was persisting with Jellis Craig. We should have dumped them years ago. Jellis Craig were less than supportive. When we persisted on the damage and opted to go to VCAT we received some small compensation from the tenants. Jellis Craig claimed they “pulled off a miracle” negotiating the small sum of compensation. I can tell you, this comment fell on deaf ears. I should have listened to my instincts years ago.
I engaged Jellis Craig Richmond 2 years ago to manage my property, worst decision I have made.. I live overseas so have to rely on them to do the right thing - I now know I placed my trust with the wrong company. It has been a dreadful process. The first property manager lied about doing maintenance repairs requested by tenants, which I only found out 9 months later and I had to raise multiple complaints they did not resolve. Senior managers didn’t seem to care or be responsive. Then the accounts department keeps paying invoices late which incur late fees which then gets charged to me - every month I find the late fee charges, ask for the refund and ask them to fix it. they apologise, say it’s fixed and then it happens again. If I didn’t check the invoices this would be hundreds of dollars a year. You can’t trust them, you have to check what they charge each month, ensure you are not paying extra cost in late fees. Sadly many landlords are probably paying for things they shouldn’t. If you want peace of mind, good service and value then avoid Richmond Jellis Craig property mnge office. Frankly the low ratings tell the story that I am not alone in this bad experience. I wish I had checked these ratings initially as it could have saved me time, money and anxiety. Yes they contacted me recently as per their reply below. However this was afterb18 months of many ongoing issues. It's to late for action now so I moved my property to another company.
I have not rented for many years but working with Wendy the whole process went seamlessly and without stress. Wendy was extra helpful, approachable and made you feel that she wasn’t just a company worker but was invested in you having a pleasant experience in the process. I highly recommend Jellis Craig and Wendy.
We bought a property from Julian Campagna, and from start to finish it was an unpleasant experience. From my first meeting him, he didn’t even have the decency to turn around when introduced. His unprofessional and casual behaviour was memorable. For example: Settlement day, exciting day, when we collected the keys from him in his track pants, I asked what the key fob was for, he then tapped his AirPods to pause whatever he was listening to and asked me to repeat the question because he didn’t hear it. It’s very easy to be a bad salesman in a sellers market, it was clear at every interaction that Julian knew he did not have to work for his commission. And it is due to our experience with Julian, that we chose a different real estate agent to manage our investment property, despite being being informed that we would “be taken care of” if we went with Jellis Craig. I have explained our disappointing experience to the manager at Northcote, and advised him that this review would be posted. Would not recommend Julian.
Claire Smith took over management of our rental property almost a year ago and we have never looked back. She leased our property in 5 days for the best price, and manages the property seamlessly. The tenants are excellent and Claire is always very responsive and attentive to any issues that are raised from either myself or the tenants. Our beach house is in the best hands! Thanks Claire.

Mar 08,2024This company would do well to inform people that apply for their rental properties when the property has been leased . Not showing any courtesy to inform applicants if their application was not successful . Just deleting the properties off realestate.com.au without any notification by email is very unprofessional . Will not deal with them at all
