These guided tours travel to all five regions of Alaska – the Artic, Inside Passage, Interior, Southcentral, and Southwest – and with group sizes ranging from only 24 to 40 guests, John Hall’s Alaska provides a more intimate “real” Alaska experience. Wildlife encounters, native cultural experiences, behind-the-scenes access, outdoor activities, and the finest lodging in Alaska are highlights of every departure. Combined tour offerings feature six of Alaska’s eight national parks and optional trips to the other two can be added before or after any scheduled tour.

Mar 15,2021I thoroughly enjoyed my Iditarod and Aurora Tour of 2020 with John G. as our guide and host. It was well planned and executed. This tour company has inroads to the Race event that you will not get otherwise. A plane to fly you to one of the Iditarod checkpoints to get close to the action and then on above the Arctic Circle to Bettles is one example. And it's a small group too. Loved it!!!

Mar 14,2021We took the 14 day land/cruise tour in 2010. It was such an awesome time and our tour guide Colleen was exceptional. (Now retired). Using John Hall's Alaska was the way to go as it was all inclusive, got to do more and see more than a neighbor did on a land/cruise tour with another company. We went all the way back 90 some miles into Wonder Lake in Denali. (Other companies go 60 miles back to the museum and turn around) We also were the first car in the train with the dome with a remarkable view and had a wonderful dinner served. The tour bus was very comfortable and roomy because John Hall has his bus customized with less seats for more leg room. I can't say enough good about our time with John Hall Alaska Tours. I would not hesitate to recommend him (and I have recommended him to many friends) and I would definitely use him for another tour someday. I would recommend the 15 day tour to stay overnight at Wonder Lake. We did the 14 day tour and the overnight was the only thing we did not do which I regret, so make sure you choose the overnight tour in Denali. It was the best vacation we ever took. His company is excellent and I highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed.

We met many nice people, some who still correspond with us years later. Special about tours is the company’s connection with places we visited. They know them inside & out! Any questions you have can be answered.

Mar 13,2021Our Alaskan vacation with John Hall was absolutely the best. We experienced so much of beautiful Alaska and met some wonderful people. Our trip was relaxing because we did not have to think about where we were going to eat or where we were going to stay. Everything was taken care of including putting our luggage on the motor coach and setting it outside our hotel room door at night. We will do it again in the near future.

I can always count on all details being handled at a superior level, the trip itinerary being magnificent and and my personal needs attended to. They look after you like you’re family. Meals and accommodations are first rate. The tour guides are fantastic, they give you details on everything you see or answer any questions. Mar 12,2021Our John Hall Alaska Tour / Cruise trip was our second one to Alaska and for sure the very best. And how did we manage that ??? Well we wintered [4] months each year for 23 years in a South Padre Island RV Campground. This one particular year we were experiencing some nasty wind, rain and cold weather. One of those days my wife Gloria said enough of this weather, lets go to the Convention Center to watch an Alaskan Tour seminar just for the heck of it. It was a very good presentation and we felt our first Alaskan Land and Cruise left out much of what w e just had seen on the John Hall presentation. Afterwards we went up to the front and talked to the representitive about what we missed and thanked them for a very nice time there. Upon completion they asked everyone to sign a visitor registration slip and we went on our way. Well again another great surprise. Later that summer I received what I thought was a "crank call" regarding a free vacation award. Darn near hung up on the caller but she insisted that I was "the one" picked out of several thousand registration slips and won a [2] week John Hall Alaskan Tour and Cruise. Our re-trip to Alaska was just so much better in terms of land accomodations, trip adventures, scenery, rail travel, especially the bus trip out to the Denialli Outpost and all due to our excellent land host. Then on to the [7]day cruise. Another nice surprise, our tour host was married to our land host and she assisted everyone to their special requests on board and selecting the various shore trips. The ship was great, bedrooms roomy, onboard activities and food excellent and to top it off great weather thru out the whole trip. I have to apologize for not remembering the names of our hosts and the names of the specific places we visited as it's been awhile. However that does not effect in any matter how much more we enjoyed our second trip to Alaska.

Mar 12,2021This trip was awesome from beginning to end, from the hotels we stayed in, the food, and the knowledgeable bus driver & tour guide. The back country lodge was incredible, and we wish we could have stayed there one extra day. The scenery, and picking wild blueberries and looking at Denali was amazing, and the weather was great! this was a trip we will never forget, just awesome!

Mar 12,2021The John Hall staff does a great job executing a well planned itinerary that gets you to places most tourists don't experience. Cruising on small vessels provides access to areas that are breathtaking and the tour sets a priority on visiting native peoples and learning about their culture. We really enjoyed our vacation and fell it was worth every dollar we spent.

We got such excellent individual and small group attention on both the bus and on the cruise ship. Excellent guides, excellent attractions and stops- what can I say, it was a great experience!

Mar 23,2021During an Iderod trip, I was injured during a snowmobile trip that caused me to have to leave the tour to return home for surgery. I was so very disappointed. The staff stayed with me and helped throughout the entire process and facilitated the entire thing. I don't know what I'd have done without them. We tell everyone who wants to go to Alaska, they must go with John Hall's Alaska. They're the best - including the best tour managers. Of course, I have my favorite.
