Oct 08,2024I took out insurance through Keith Michaels in 2022. I was a returning expat then having lived in France for 8 years. I had accumulated 8 years no-claims discount with my French insurer, but transferring this to any 'major' UK insurer either seemed to create major difficulties or very high premiums. Keith Michaels dealt with the transfer of NCD easily and at a substantially lower premium than other providers. The French NCD still seems to present difficulties to 'major' insurers: I have just renewed with Keith Michaels for a third year. When I checked their quote against a 'major' provider, they were 35% cheaper. I have made one claim via Keith Michaels since I started to use their services. That was for a windscreen replacement. That claim was processed promptly and efficiently.

He was very realistic, down to earth and really helped. Made everything easy to understand and I would recommend Keith Michaels to anyone as they quoted me considerably less compared to more known insurers such as Adrian Flux for modified classic cars. Sep 20,2024I called the company over a week ago. It took several attempts to finally speak to Fraser and at first it felt like a good personal level of customer service. I needed quotes for my two vehicles owned by my limited company. Basic details were taken and I was told I would receive a quote. After waiting for a week, still no reply. I rang and left a message on the voicemail and within minutes got this brief emailed reply: "Sadly I have had word from the underwriter and it is a decline due to the bankruptcy history". First of all it seems like there was no intention to update me once it was not an option with this broker. Secondly I find it bizarre to be approved on £65k finance on an EV to be given this kind of feedback in such an impersonal manner. Frustrating, especially as another company has now given me a very competitive quote. Maybe a little more communication in future?
