I've noticed Mukuru has a lot of Bad reviews all over the internet. I dont disagree with most of them. I've also had my fair share of Mukuru bad experiences. The Company as a whole is made up of people who have no idea what they are doing or how to deal with most of the situations. Despite this I am giving them 5 stars because of an unexpected world class service offered by one of their employees by the name of Nomvula. She listened carefully and solved the problem systematically and orderly with regular follow ups and updates which were initiated by her. Well done to her. She is one of the few people who realise that its the employees who make the Companies image. I dont know if Mukuru offers rewards to outstanding employees who better the Company's image, but if not they should start doing so because we need more people like Nomvula. Well Done!

I am very disappointed with mukuru.com. I sent some money with them which l end up cancelling due to their inefficient services. They said the will take a small amount of money which will be paid after confirming the bank visa card. Mukuru only paid back the money l transfered but the small amount which was deducted from my account was never paid back. Phoned several times and they stopped picking up my phone

Not even worth one star, very bad customer service, slow to transfer mobey as if you are doing it for free. Dissapointed with you service you need to improve.

I was sent an EFT payment on Monday the 2nd today its the 5th and I haven't received it. I've sent proof of payment and called countless times but nothing. m soo disappointed I've been banking with u for 4 years and u don't show care to your customers. m very inconvenienced and have lost a lot because of this

I have been with Mukuru since 2014. But i dont thnk they value their business or their clients enough to care about your experience as long as they make money .Mukuru has great packages but some of the agents or consultants or administrators have such horrible customer service and treat you badly. I had a terrible experience with a payment administrator called Moyra Ngirazi . How the company has survived employing such personnel with a bad attitude I have no idea. I have made orders and payments via eft without problems and recently was told I can not pay orders on Sunday or public holidays only by this one person mention above. But only during the week On 07. October 2019 at 2200 I created an order and made a payment instantly via eft and got payment Notification and emailed it to mukuru so that the recipient could receive money as early as possible since it was a medical emergency. Instead I got an email from this person that the money was not in mukuru account because the order had been paid after hours. Its the same bank that mukuru uses so it just an internal EFT Having a great relationship with my bank I contacted the bank I bank with which is the same bank mukuru has an account with and they informed me funds had been moved from my account to mukuru account and cleared by 11 am already and I should ask the recipient (mukuru) to check their account to verify. Guess what my day was about. ? This horrible consultant or administrator insisted the bank was wrong and she will not release the money to the person I sent to until 24hrs had passed because mukuru rukes state that, the payment had been made after mukuru business hours . What a lot of rubbish I have made many payments outside mukuru business hours and my recipient received their collection vouchers within hours. My whole day was wasted trying to convince her to please check and release the sms which I assume is what she is paid to do since mukuru says they assist people moving money. We dont send money orders to spend the whole day arguing but to assist whoever needs assistance and in this case it was a medical emergency but apparently this person could afford to give me arun around on Mukuru time all because she can get away with itbecause no one will hold her accountable I then asked if she can confirm for the last time if the money had not gone through so I can reverse the transaction and make another order and eft during working hours in order to meet her new rule which was custom made for me, which was that EFT payments were to be made during Mukuru working hours , (note this EFT transfer was made during the week as she had previously insisted I do) And just to be clear it only her that has these rulesbecause as I said earlier I never checked or worried what time I payed an order most of my previous transactions had gone through within a reasonable timewith little or no reminder from my side. only if they but instead She ended up now demanding for my bank account so she can send me money refund for payment she claims she hasn't received the whole day. Then I finally woke up this person was targeting me for some fraud or scam because the whole time she claimed the money had not been released or cleared now she want "my bank account number to reverse what money" I refused with my banking details because I was sensing a scam and told her it was illegal for her to ask for my personal banking information and I had emailed my proof of payment with a reference and since the bank had cleared the money into mukuru account she could use that reference The bank knows where the funds came from. Thats when she went silent First she hasn't received the money now she wants my bank account number to send a refund Really. SO PEOPLE BEWARE OF SOME OF THESE MUKURU CONSULTANTS AS They have their own agendas and make up laws to frustrate people so they can scam you As I write this email my recipient still has not recieved their collection voucher its been 24hrs and this person is still seating on my order I have a relative who cannot get medicine because a consultant puts her need to run a scam above mukuru business

I have been using Mukuru since it started. Last week I wanted to send money to Nigeria and was happy to find out that Mukuru can help me. There are many other options I could have used but Mukuru has never disappointed me. I created my order and there were two options one for mobile money transfer and the other was a bank account. I chose the mobile money transfer. I received a message that the money has been paid into the recipient's wallet. I enquired from the recipient to find out if he had received the money and he said they are saying there is nothing for him because he has no wallet with them. I called Mukuru only to be told mistakes that happen with orders to Nigeria can not be rectified. When the money is gone it's gone. My question is where is my money. Who can help me retrieve my money if Mukuru can't. If the person did not have a wallet why didn't it reject the order. Isn't this fraud. Was that mistake I made worth the R4000 I have lost I want my money.

I have been using Mukuru for years but this time. It went well for quit some time. But now their service is very poor. They keep telling me about technical problems, asking for a proof of payment. As a long time customer this feels very bad!!

I sent cash pick up via Worldremit to South Africa. Was told the receiver could collect the money at any Mukuru branches. This has however turned out to be a nightmare situation. Yesterday when the receiver went to one of Mukuru branches, was told to open an account with them and have the money deposited into the account. Was told if he wanted cash he should go to their Kempton branch which was quite a distant away. Following day he went to the Kempton branch and was told they did not have any cash at the moment and were not sure when they would get their next batch of cash. However they told receiver that since he now had an account with them, they could transfer funds into the account. However what they didn't tell the recipient was that the money would take 2 to 3 days to clear into the account. Now as things stand we will have to wait to wait for 3 to 4 days for what was supposed to be an instant cash pickup. I have never dealt with this company directly, but from this experience, understand why they are getting bad reviews. I have spoken to Worldremit whom seem not to be aware of the challenges people face when trying to collect money from Mukuru. Worldremit should choose another partner to work with in South Africa and forget about Mukuru.

always a no network situation at the youville branch. been waiting for hours. some customers even end up leaving the branch due to frustration. I honestly don’t understand why this is always a problem and nothing is done about it. I keep giving a benefit of doubt to keep trying but it’s the same situation on and on again. I am really fed up with this sort of mediocre service.

The ladies cant even explain to customers the right infomation about the bank.the guy who is called Keith Chineka is recomended to be the top leader on explaining the right informatin TO the customers.i had the worst service today.Until i spoke to Keith who helped me. 100% to Keith Chineka.Yes

EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE! I’ve been using Mukuru for sometime now but of late their service has gone downhill it’s appalling. They take time to clear monies sent (hence the money doesn’t arrive in minutes as they state), and if there is something that hinders this security confirmation nobody bothers to communicate with you to explain the delay. I had an emergency and had to send money to my sister in law on Saturday morning. The poor woman waited for over 4 hours in vain until the Mukuru office closed at midday which meant that she had to wait for Monday before she could get anything. This was despite numerous phone calls and emails to try and get the monies across to her. All because she has 2 numbers (one which she used to open the account and one that she preferred a confirmation sms be sent to). Nobody bothered to explain the hold up until I rang in only for some guy to casually offer to reverse the money (of which the money reverses in days) and have me sent again...like we are dealing with commodities that one can just pick and drop anyhow. This guy then put me on hold for close to 5 minutes whilst he consulted with his supervisor before assuring me that the money will be released “in 5 mins”...which of cause never happened despite my constant calls until they closed shop and the number stopped going through. This is not the first time this has happened. The other time my poor mom waited for hours on end “due to a technical issue”. These people have to realize that they are dealing with money and in some cases people have situations that need to be addressed hence opt for the fastest mode to get money across. Their false advertising is costing more than just a waste in people’s time. I’d say unless you are really at the luxury of time and money, don’t bother using their service. The comments I’ve seen here are just a snippet of the horror experience that they offer. Despite the complaints, you just a get a generic response that someone will look into it. This is not good enough. They have to be investigated for false advertising and compliance to financial regulation. Something is definitely not right here!! Extremely disappointing service!

Corrupt Company. We sent some money two weeks ago to a colleague's sister. We used Mukuru in Cape Town for collection, the receiver was given a barrage of exudes, first she was told to go to a different branch and she did this. When she got to s different branch she was told that there was no money available, she immediately informed us. To cut a long story short she finally received the money after threatening to sell her story to local papers. Now we are not going to promote corruption in Cape Town by allowing Companies of such calibre to continue operating. We are raising the matter with with relevant authorities. Mukuru can respond if they wish but their response can't undo the damage already done.

If you want to have a bad day, try Mukuru. Firstly, the Hillbrow branch always has stories, either they are offline, they have no electricity, or you'll just sit there for hours only to be told there is no cash. Recently, I went to the Braamfontein branch to collect money, as I had experienced the tastelessness of the Hillbrow branch more than 5 separtate times and they could not help me, so they told me there was no cash at 2:30pm, and I only wanted abt 5k,on asking what if I come tommorow... the teller said, there will still be no cash! Ok so what can I do, then they say we can send the money to your account. I tell them, I do not have a personal bank acc, but I have my niece's acc that I am more than happy to receive the cash into... then I hear "Sorry we can only send to your personal acc", I asked that I can even sign for this and verify with my ID/Passport, and sadly they can't do that. To get there I had to take an uber which was waiting for me outside as I stay in a far remote surburb, so now the other 'option' that they gave me was to proceed to Kempton Park or the OR Tambo Airport, and to think I had to uber my way there cause I had no cash still, and so with no choice I had to go all the way to the airport which was more than 150km to and from my home with an uber! because of their incompetency! Honestly I hate Mukuru and next time I will just use Western Union because this is appalling and recurent with no solution in view even in the near future... Honestly I wish to challenge them with my own solution, and show them how business is done in 2019! So watch the space

This is fraud I have sent money to Zimbabwe using mukuru to ecocash account, only to realise I have been robbed. The receiver was supposed to receive the money in USD only to receive a 1:1 bond note value of which the market rates are at 1:3

I have used Mukuru on and off since 2010 and always found them reliable, that is until this time. Their communication was appauling, saying that they had phoned when they hadn’t, sending me a text asking me to call an unobtainable number. They promised to send the money to South Africa within 5 minutes of receiving the recipients ID, that was 4 days ago! In the end after wanting yet another copy of a document right at the end, I sent it and said that they either sent the money that day or cancelled the transaction. They cancelled the transaction. They have had around £200 of my money for 6 days and done absolutely nothing. They should realise that they’re dealing with finance here not T- shirts. Are they still in business? I will not be using them again.

I have received money from Mukuru more than 7times and I send money home sometimes .I'm not a person that will ever look for reviews of any company or whatsoever ,let alone write one .I reside in Jhb ,my nearest pickup point is Hilbrow mukuru.com .Everytime I come here people will be complaining and the cashiers take their time ,Stretch their bodies while working and just stare at us .Waiting period here is always more than an hour .So unprofessional. Why not give this job to people that really need it and know the value .Its really disappointing.May we be taken serious as customers please .its always one or maximum cashiers working.
