What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.
OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.
From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.
And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.
I purchased a Panama Foldaway Luggage Rack which chipped and dented after the first use. I used the online contact form to raise a complaint, so I had proof of the contact. After a few weeks of no response to my contact form submission I called the customer service line to be told that an email had been sent to me. It had not. I was then asked to send images which I did to the customer service email address. Again my email was ignored. I then called customer service for the second time and was offered to send the item back (I said no as the item is large and I would have to wrap and post) or a £35 refund as the item had sold out and wasn’t being replaced. I said I would reluctantly accept the refund and asked for my order to passed to the complaints team. Again no response or refund. This was at the end of June. I have bought from OKA since they started over 20 years ago. Customer service is now sub par in fact non existent and the luggage stand, plastic and not fit for purpose. I am guessing I will have to call customer service again to ask for the £35 refund that was due over 2 weeks ago. I won’t buy from OKA again. Order number is WUK00286970 Update: I have now received the refund 14 days after I requested it. Emails: If an automated thank you for your email is a response then yes I did receive a reply to my email submissions. Return of item: I was told by the customer service agent I would have to arrange for the item to be returned. At no point was I offered a collection service.
Tony and Elliott were superb at the delivery of an occasional table. Removed packaging and positioned table perfectly. Very courteous.

Love the Broadway shop, I have bought lots of furnishings lamps etc., over the past few months. It is much nicer to actually see them rather than online.

Had a delivery today and I cannot praise the delivery guys enough, so polite and helpful. We had some issues getting the furniture into my garden but they didn’t complain and we found a solution other companies would have given up, also need to praise a member of staff in the Tunbridge Wells store I wanted to add to my order a chair that was out of stock they had one on display in the store whilst it couldn’t happen she went out of her way to try and get the chair added to my order no other store would have bothered. Would definitely order from this company again.

I ordered online so my first experience of the OKA service was the delivery team (Tony & Sean). They unpacked the items for me and took away all packaging and were very friendly and helpful - so much more so than most delivery teams I’ve encountered. There was an issue with one of the things I ordered which they resolved for me on the spot with the customer service team. Genuinely impressed!
Mark and Alf did our delivery today (SW10). They were totally competent, polite and friendly. We would like to thank them very much.
Purchased various items from their Fulham Rd Branch and was very impressed by their service and suggestions/advise received. All added to a great experience. Delivery/unpacking etc. by Chris and Sean was also faultless, they were extremely helpful and professional.
Today I visited the Oka store in Harrogate just to browse and ended up purchasing nine cushions. Michelle was incredibly helpful, suggesting a combination of cushions I wouldn't have chosen myself. Michelle's approach was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. Despite my purchase not being a high-ticket item like a sofa, she made me feel that my selection was just as important. As an HR professional, I must say congratulations—you clearly hire and train your staff exceptionally well. If only all customer service was like this! I will definitely be back and hope Michelle is there to assist me again (though the other colleagues seemed just as friendly). Wonderful experience. Thank you, Alison
Outdoor garden table. After 1 month it has started to rust. Reply from oka customer service manager Scott that outdoor garden table is not made with protective coating andi should have rust sealed or seek professional advise. I believe that Oka should not sell without stating this on website. It feels like a misrepresentation to sell an outdoor garden table and say I have to spend more money and effect to ensure it’s usable. I accept this advise if I had table outside for numerous months but less than 1 month. This brings into question quality of garden table. I might as well have gone to B&Q or Wicks to buy my garden table. This is poor for a high end shop. Shame on you OKA lost trust in your brand.

Great delivery by Chris and Sean, they installed my rug perfectly and were very helpful with moving my furniture. Love the rug and pleased with the overall experience with OKA, made better by Chris and Sean.

The parasols we had ordered were delivered on time by two very polite & helpful couriers! They set the parasols up in our courtyard, efficiently, but unfortunately we didn’t like the colour! The couriers courteously, repackaged them and left - the interactions were positive - we were happy to be given time to consider our decision’
Tanka and Udaya were very friendly and efficient. They unpacked everything and took the boxes away with them in less than 5 minutes. Would highly recommend.
Furniture is beautiful, high quality Couldn’t ask for better delivery service. Darren and Phil were exceptional.
