What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.
OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.
From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.
And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.

Had a mirror on order before Xmas. Oka have delayed it twice (now been waiting for 4 months) and just got an email saying its going to be another 2 weeks for delivery. Spoke to Nickie in so call 'customer service' who was no help and said thats how long its taking at the moment. I thought (wrongly) that Oka was a premium retailer with great customer service. management wake up!!!

Awful customer service!!!! Probably the worst I have ever experienced from a well known UK retailer. Not surprised to see other people complaining too. I ordered 2 coffee tables. They were late by months and couldn't get any update on timing. When they eventually arrived, I decided to return them because quality was not that great. Had also ordered some cushions separately which I also wanted to return. Agreed with customer services (e mail from them 2 days before pick up of tables) that I should give the cushions to the delivery men, so I did. Now they won't refund me because they say there was no paperwork showing they had been returned even though this is because nobody in customer services told them or gave them any paperwork and their delivery men did not record receiving the cushions. How is any of that my fault? What should I have done that I didn’t do? They can’t get their act together so I don’t get a refund? Will never buy anything from them again.
I am updating my feedback. Oka has gotten back to me very quickly and refunded the whole money thanks for that
I was recently in Knutsford Oka shop and assisted by Catherine. I revisited several times unable to make decision but eventually purchased 2 chairs. Catherine was friendly and very helpful, checking dimensions, matching cushions etc. Thank you Oka and Catherine especially.
I'm shocked at how my case has been handled. I had a £7k sofa delivered two weeks ago and immediately emailed OKA customer service with photos of damage found to a leg and lining. No one replied. I called customer service two days later and was advised no email had been received. I was asked to email in again and it would be dealt with as a priority case. I did this and amazingly, I received a reply to the first email I sent that they couldn't find! I was told this would be escalated and someone would be in touch. I chased on Tuesday and today and no one replies to my emails. I would not recommend OKA as they ignore you and one star seems like a star too many.

We recently purchased a sofa, arm chair and side table from Oka. We received such a warm, helpful service from Linda in the Bath store and friendly, respectful delivery less than 2 weeks later from Darren and Neil. We are delighted with our new furniture and cannot fault the service we received from start to finish.
Oka’s communication through the delivery of online orders is awful. Placed an order on the 23/3 I didn’t hear anything from OKA. I called them on the 2/4. As one item was out of stock they had held the whole order. I wonder why they didn’t phone, text or email to ask to spilt the delivery. I think the service is below what customers expect for the brand. As of the 3/4 I still haven’t received the partial delivery.
Efficient, friendly delivery of our order today by Chris & Darren. Arrived promptly. This was the 2nd attempt at delivering our order as the original order was faulty but hadn’t been noticed by quality control. However, to their credit OKA resolved quickly and we are pleased with purchase.
Staff member Nooria was excellent both in attitude and helpfulness. Nothing was too much bother despite our visit being near closing time. Very impressed.

We bought two Kirkwall leather chairs in October 2019. After only four years of occasional use, the leather on one of the seats has split, and we are frankly amazed at just how thin the leather is. We were told by the manager that our complaint would be referred to Customer Services, and their response was that we would need to employ a leather specialist. Subsequent visits to the Tunbridge Wells store have resulted in a very offhand response - we were told that four years is a long time in the life of a leather chair. A very helpful employee in the Bath store however, told us that these chairs ‘should last a lifetime’. We won’t be giving any further business to OKA. We would reiterate that we bought 2 of the same chairs, treated them the same - kept out of direct sunlight and away from any heat source, used them equally (one does not get used more than the other) - one has performed satisfactorily as we would expect and one has not.
