What is OKA all about? Simply put, it’s a love affair with living well. Since the very beginning, we’ve been on a mission to create things that make time spent with friends and family more memorable. We believe that’s the secret to living beautifully: enjoying it.

OKA started small, with three women bringing unique designs from the Far East to shoppers in the West. Lady Annabel Astor, a serial entrepreneur on a mission to find special items to decorate her holiday home with, invited two friends along: her sister-in-law Sue Jones, whose decorating pedigree included stints at Jasper Conran and Colefax and Fowler, and Lucinda Waterhouse, a skilled horticulturist whose company made exquisite faux flowers. Together they set out to create a catalogue of charming home upgrades.

From the start, the OKA team has called on talented artisans from all over the world to bring its ideas to life. Our furniture and homewares prioritise beauty, comfort and style, but we choose items for their integrity, not because they fit a prescribed look. The magic of OKA is the mix: hand-picked global treasures, rich textures and patterns, and timeless furniture profiles. It’s ever-changing but unwaveringly British; elegant and easy-going; sophisticated but never stiff.

And our name? OKA is a phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, yet feels innately British. A blend of cultures and aesthetics working in perfect harmony, which is at the heart of everything we do.

Building on over two decades of collections, 13 experiential stores in the UK, a website, and an ideas-packed magazine, we’ve become a destination for lovers of home, season after season. And the more we continue to follow our passion for design, the more we inspire others to find theirs.

Tony and Neil were courteous and helpful when they delivered the rug we ordered on line. Unfortunately we had to return the rug to the Guildford store (colour didn’t work well with our furniture), where Eglee and Gina were super helpful in contacting Customer Services to arrange a refund. Great service from Oka, as always. Thank you.

bought the "Mini-Grisewood Wireless Lamp and Shade" in green from the US store. Took over 4 months to deliver. To be fair, it looks and feels beautiful. But it doesn't work. It worked for 2 weeks and now won't turn on despite full charging over night testing several different outlets and charger that all work to charge other items. And now OKA US is bankrupt so no customer service/replacements. Stay away from this mess of a company.

Just had a piece of furniture delivered by Tony and Neil, they were simply the most charming gents and delivered and built my sideboard impeckably…so professional, friendly and polite - would highly recommend Oka and their delivery team, a big thank you from one very happy customer

The flagship store on Fulham Road is really an excellent store. The choices are varied and stylish. But additional is the exceptional member of staff Sarita. She is so professional, extremely helpful and her kind, friendly matter helped with my decision. I was so happy I decided to visit this store.

DO NOT TRUST THIS RETAILER - appalling disgusting service and store- no update on orders made a month ago!! I made an order on 22nd May. I received the usual automated order confirmation reply from oka, and the monies were earmarked and taken. I have since received no update (it is now 16th June!) I tried to find a customer service email and found an online enquiry form and email. No one replied. I looked at the product item page on 13th June and saw the item now stated “only 2 in stock” I made a second order as I anticipated if oka eventually respond to say they lost my first order; that I would need to order a replacement before the item goes out of stock. I have now received no update on my second order and the product item is now stating “out of stock delivery in 6 weeks” If this is correct it will be 10-11 weeks since I made my first order (2 1/2 -3 months!!!) - no one is updating me or bothering to advise that having taken your money the item is not going to arrive for months!!!! Update: Oka have replied below to state they did reply and I did not answer - there is nothing in my inbox or junk mail. They are a terrible retailer - DO NOT TRUST THEM

Tony and Dave were absolutely fantastic - they were so helpful and put up a four poster bed up two flights of stairs with no problem at all. They were extremely tidy, helpful and the whole process was effortless. Thanks for a great service.

I’d like to give this zero stars but that is not an option. I purchased a chest from Oka and it arrived last Friday - broken. The movers did not even unpack the item. They took photos, contacted Oka and the item went back on the truck. I spoke with Oka customer service twice that day to confirm that I wanted a credit. After several days, I saw no credit posted to my account. I attempted to contact customer service multiple times and a recording stated that no one was available. Similarly, when I contacted Oka’s stores a recording stated that no one was available and instructed me to leave my name and phone number. I learned today that the US company filed for bankruptcy. Oka apparently had no intention of issuing a credit, and I am owed $1,382.17. It appears that Oka knew they would be filing for Chapter 7 and decided to stiff their creditors - and their customers. I will be lucky to get anything by way of reimbursement in a Chapter 7 liquidation. I am merely an unsecured creditor. I expect that many of your US customers are in this same situation. You could have issued this credit days prior to your filing, but chose not to and just collapse it into your other debt. That is especially troubling. I will never again think of Oka as an honest and trustworthy company. I would also point out that you opened your US business after - not during - COVID. I don’t know what factors caused your US business to fail, but COVID was not one.

Just came back from visiting Sunninghill store today to collect a set of 5 Sakura paintings. Thank you so much to the staff for their help and patience ,especially as it was quite close to the closing time for this store. They never refund items returned unless you chase them which I am doing now after 10 days. I will never deal with them again. There must be a reason why they hang on to your money until the last minute. Reference your reply why has it taken over a week to reach your warehouse? That is unreasonable.

I've bought many pieces of furniture from Oka but was shocked at how poor their customer service is when problems arise. A dining table delivered in June last year has a manufacturing defect which I lived with for a few months (too busy to report it) but having now notified the problem in February (8 months after receipt) I discover they won't help. Very poor. Guildford store wash their hands of it and refer me to "customer service" who are equally unhelpful.
