Very well organised, meeting lots of friendly people. Perhaps too many on the trip, should be less.
Lake Garda 22nd-29th September 2024. Venice day trip, would work better if we went to Murano Island first, with guided tour of Venice later in the afternoon. The boat we were allocated from Murano to the port at the end of the day was awful. Unkempt, plastic seats had foam spilling out from dirty torn covers. on the edge of the seat seats a tears in The boatman was surly & very abrupt. After failing to successfully plug kettle, contacted reception & handyman came & slipped on adapter. Resort- View from my apartment was beautiful, it was clean & well maintained. Would expect kettles supplied in 4* resort to be checked they adapter Resort- View from my apartment was beautiful, it was clean & well maintained. But would expect kettles supplied by 4* resort to be fitted with correct plug/adapter. Resort- View from my apartment was beautiful, it was clean & well maintained. But some minor issues, one I would describe as not meeting safety standards I would expect from a 4* resort in Italy. I tried unsuccessfully to plug in kettle to make a drink in my room. I called reception & they sent their handyman who slipped on adapter & hurray could finally make a cup of tea. But some of the group persevered & found socket in the bathroom!!! Steep climb to my room, fairly fit but just turned 70 & bit unnerving when it was wet & slippery in places. Shortcut to the apartment up a steep incline with seat half way, but very poorly lit in the dark. There was a shuttle in a golf cart, but unfortunately one of the drivers drove so fast felt safer to walk. Buffet breakfast- plenty of choice Dinner-good selection of dishes to choose from. But maybe some of the starter portions could be a bit smaller. Jan our guide was excellent & very knowledgeable about the sites & areas she had visited many times over the years. A very passionate advocate for Lake Garda area.
I was told the room I had was a short walk from the main hotel. But it was not . A long walk up a hill , I told the staff at booking I had a back problem, every time I needed to go yo my room a long walk I paid more for this room .when it was no better than the ones in the Hotel your room is a part of your holiday experiences. Guide on Verona day not very good.
A great first holiday with One Traveller. Varied and interesting itinerary, good hotel and food, excellent travelling companions. Above all, our wonderful tour manager - Julie Connolly. I was made to feel welcome. I look forward to more OT tours in 2025.
Although the Hotel was 4star. The food was uninspired. Breakfast often cold when it should have been hot. The rooms were spacious and clean
One Traveller provided a comprehensive, well thought out itinerary with excellent guides, Alison & Irene. Their thoughtfulness, caring & sense of humour was 100 o/o. Hotels, transport, such diverse & interesting places we visited made our long journeys so worthwhile. My eyes were certainly opened to the beauty of Romania , the warmth of the people and the history.
The whole experience from beginning to end was expertly organised, well thought out, splendidly varied and sensitively led. Fellow-travellers were friendly and outgoing, and the Tour Manager was efficient, knowledgeable and empathic. Altogether a great experience.
I have been travelling solo with the One Traveller since January 2018. My first trip with this excellent company was to Northern India. On 19/10/24, when I travel to Puglia, it will be my 15th OT trip. Whilst travelling, OT look after their customers from the minute they meet them at the airport or pre-night hotel, to the minute they return back to the UK and have collected their suitcases. Excellent itineraries and generally good Tour Managers. My 2025 trips are already booked and I will be very much looking forward to these when the time comes.
My requirements were for a holiday in South Africa booked for April’25 but I wanted to arrange my own flights to & from Heathrow. Karon made all the arrangements for me very quickly & effortlessly & Shaneen answered all my additional questions about the holiday very efficiently.
Very enjoyable and well organised holiday. I thought the accommodation was excellent and Very much appreciated having a room to myself. I enjoyed all our trips out, but particularly enjoyed the visit to the caves at Postojna and also our day out in Piran followed by the visit to Lipica to see the Lippizaner horses.
There is a happy combination of positive things with regard to my One Traveller experience on the Croatian ship cruise from Split to Dubrovnik. One was the beauty of the islands, and the towns. Another was the history as revealed by the guides with the outstanding examples of heritage from centuries past to the present day. Yet another was the comfort of the ship. Binding this together was the excellence, expertise, charm and people skills of the Tour Manager, Serena.
As always, my booking has been dealt with efficiently and documentation received quickly and with most of my details entered for me.
Thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to Turkey with One Traveller. From Cappadocia to Istanbul, the trip was wonderful. Dario was the perfect tour manager, always helpful, efficient and fun. Murat, our local guide was extremely knowledgeable and a bit quirky, which was fun. Our excellent driver made travel very comfortable. A great mixture of history, wonderful scenery, excellent food and lots of laughs. Looking forward to my next One Traveller trip to Sri Lanka.
Great to meet so many pleasant people. We had a very caring helpful guide who looked out for us wonderfully.
Excellent Tour Manager who kept us informed as to what was happening each day always making sure everything was running smoothly and always with a smile on his face.
Full marks for location, hotel, leadership and organisation. Exciting and inspiring full programme of excursions. The fellow travellers quickly became a friendly cohesive team. Return flight was delayed alas. At 23.50 pm no available taxi and I felt abandoned.
Everything about my trip was wonderful.
The tour manager and guide were good, the hotel satisfactory and the excursions generally good. However some of the meals were very poor and need to be reviewed by the company
I felt totally looked after from booking to returning to UK, would definitely recommend
Jane
