Global interest in British design and manufacturing has never been higher and Samuel Groves is building on this golden opportunity by continuing to invest in manufacturing equipment to produce the very best cook and bakeware at their manufacturing site in Birmingham.
Few suppliers of hospitality products go back as far as Samuel Groves. This venerable Birmingham-based manufacturer of kitchen equipment started in 1817. The big take-off into hospitality supply came during the Second World War when Samuel Groves won a major government contract to produce aluminium trays, with many other items for the Ministry of Works and the War Office being added soon after. This helped reinforce the foundations of the modern business, which gained a major boost from the introduction of the Mermaid brand at the beginning of the 1950s.
Samuel Groves encompasses all facets of manufacturing including Metal Cutting, Presswork, Metal Spinning, Welding, Fabrication and Injection Moulding. In addition, we are able to design and manufacture our own tooling in house.
Even though the market and indeed cooking practices have evolved over the years, Samuel Groves quality and processes have improved. We remain traditional manufacturers and every product we are proud to say is still hand-finished. We have been a manufacturer in Birmingham for close to 200 years, some of the skills that will be used in the factory today will have been used all throughout those 200 years.
Every range produced at our factory, we believe is the best you can buy, whether that’s our robust stainless steel 3-ply cookware, or timeless Mermaid anodised bakeware.
I have purchased a number of items from Samuel Groves and happy to say they have been of an excellent (unbeatable) quality. Their communication/delivery service is also to be commended. In the future I intend to buy more items from them as they are my first to go shop producing traditionally made products rarely found in the UK. Well-done
Classic pan, superbly made in Birmingham. Costs more than the ones in Argos, but will last forever, and quite reasonable compared to Le Creuset etc.
Only used once as packed away for house move , pans are very well made attractive and will complement your kitchen. Cook evenly and clean up well. I have a cast stove and induction hob probably best not to shuffle pan on glass covered hobs as it should be obvious cast pans will mark them. Very happy with purchase as I was getting fed up with so called professional pans warping and not making contact with the hob, these seem they will last a lifetime providing you wash correctly and season occasionally.
Superb quality and build. Wish I'd have made the change years ago. And thankfully no more Teflon ingestion!
Great service and fantastic products that will last a life time.
Really good quality product and service
Great cast iron saucepans you won't be disappointed. 😃
Over the last 6 months I have invested in a number of items from Samuel Groves. The result is always the same, fast delivery, and great products that perform as described. Really happy with the quality and look forward to a lifetime of using these excellent pans etc.
Great service;English manufactured-what could be better?
Not used yet, but the pan looks and feels amazing. Fast delivery
Wonderful chefs pan. Top quality and great that it is made in England! This my second purchase from Samuel Groves and it certainly won't be my last. Superb packaging!
Items arrived quickly, very well packaged, easy to recycle.
FANTASTIC CHEFS PANS, A PLEASURE TO USE.
Great service from Samuel Groves. Prompt service, notification of delivery times, and let me know when the pan would be dispatched. The packaging was fantastic - no chance of damage on the way here. And a great quality product, made in Britain! I don't think I've ever owned a pan of this quality.
Excellent oven tray, strong, non stick, easy to clean. Very satisfied with easy to order website, swift delivery.
I bought a cast iron pan as a gift. It was delivered very promptly. It was beautifully packaged and I had frying pan envy. I loved that it was made in the UK and with recycled material.
Excellent quality, well made, stylish and made in England which is a huge plus.
I was looking for a new frying pan after the handle left our 30 year old John Lewis pan. I wanted a British made item, which is a bit hard to find. JL’s pans are made in China as are most others. Thankfully I found Samuel Groves and acquired a great piece of kitchenware. It cooks perfectly and is really comfortable to use thanks to the high handle. Well worth paying a bit extra for.
Devivery costs to France far too expensive.
