I would just like to say a big thank you to Nick, Kingsley and the Team at ShipMyCar. In such difficult times they have really made what could’ve been a protracted process very simple and seamless. A 1968 classic mustang that was shipped in September from the USA will shortly be ready for transportation to me in the NE of England. The team were always incredibly proactive in responding to any emails and general queries, and their online portal was regularly updated to enable me to track the journey from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend them enough. Thank you.
Got a quote for 2 vehicles imported to the uk from south africa .. Quote states collection of 2 vehicles in Bloemfontein to Johannesburg depot (south africa) Loading of 2 vehicles into container Johannesburg ... transport 2 vehicles from Johannesburg to durban ( which is the shipping port ) ..etc etc ..paid the quote .. Ship my car contacted the seller of the vehicles in south africa to arrange collection..everything was running like clockwork up until recieving a phone call at 4:55pm on a friday afternoon telling me they had only quoted me for 1 vehicle.. Even though its all in black and white on the quote stating 2 vehicles on every step at every destination ...they then tried to charge me a lot more money and when i questioned it they had nothing other to say apart from we cant do it for what we quoted you ..the quote is only for 1 vehicle ( even though it says 2 vehicles every step of the way ) .. Absolute joke of a company stay clear !!
Used SMC to bring my F150 into the UK. I cannot recommend these people enough, good communications, regular email updates. Phone calls answered, very professional service. Only issue I had was with States side due to Maersk ship not being on time and my container was shifted to the next available vessel. NOT SMC fault. Nick and the team were absolutely brilliant. Highly recommended
The team at ShipMyCar were nothing short of brilliant. For a first time importer from the US to the UK, the process was laid out with full transparency and I got regular updates along the way. This really helped manage any anxiety about what might be happening and when. And this was certainly helped by the website which captured all the necessary information i needed. Furthermore the personal interaction was highly responsive whenever I had a query. I literally handed over the keys to my Mustang in the US and picked them up again in Milton Keynes with the car fully ready for me to drive away on the UK roads.

I had some issues while shipping my car but the way shipmycar dealt with them was outstanding. You can tell that customer satisfaction is their number 1 priority and it was a huge relief dealing with such a professional and honest company. From the moment I enquired about importing a vehicle their communication was incredible and always recieved an almost instant response. I would not have any hesitation recommending them and will certainly be using them again if I import any more cars. I seriously can't rate these guys highly enough.

A friend of mine recommended ShipMyCar after he shipped a car from Abu Dhabi to the UK. I got in touch and the response was brilliant. I had a quote in a day and had the car booked in a few days once the details had been sorted. My car arrived in the UK at the end of March 2020 straight into lockdown. After storing my car for 3 months ShipMyCar finally asked if they could impose a storage charge as the DVLA were effectively not working and the registration could not be done. The proposed rate was extremely reasonable and I agreed as this was an unprecendented situation with ShipMyCar cleasrly suffering but still keeping up a great level of customer service. I collected my car from their Milton Keynes office at the end of Spetember two days after the registration was finally issued by the DVLA. I have nothing but praise for the team at ShipMyCar, their pricing is very competitive and their service is absolutely fantastic.
Last year I purchased a car from Japan and after many hours searching the internet for a company to handle the who thing for me, when the car arrived in the uk. I chose SMC and to be honest they made it so easy and painless. They collected it from Southampton, did all the DVLA paperwork, M.O.T etc. The portal was very easy to use and the directors are very helpful. I would definitely recommend SMC!
Overall an excellent service! They shipped a classic car over from the US and dealt with the shipping, import, customs clearance, conversions, MOT, DVLA registration and gave it a service and clean. The whole process took longer than expected but I can't fault the end result and they were always very polite and helpful whenever I rang with questions or an update on what was happening during the process.
Shipped my car from California using CFR RINKENS they collected car and sorted out all paperwork for customs on USA side. Great price and used a great container system of racking inside to secure cars while being shipped and Shipmycar did the UK side, collecting container from docks unloading car and delivering to my house from their workshop great service. Only fault I found is I thought they had completed the Nova side of the import as on the bill there was a Nova reference number but when I sent my papers to DVLA they sent it back as Nova hadn't been completed ... had to do it online myself then they sent me an email and reference number to say all VAT and Customs had been cleared and that the DVLA would get confirmation within 48 hours so I can send my paperwork back for registration....... I think you should tell all customers to do an online Nova to save time with their paperwork being rejected as I didn't know you had to do this..... would definitely use shipmycar again and use their registration and MOT test service if I couldn't do the work myself. Thanks for great updates with the portal system but as I said the Nova side needs sorting thanks Nigel Tunbridge wells
Shipmycar arranged all logistics and paperwork for my Japanese import from Bristol port to their warehouse in Milton Keynes. All DVLA processes, changes and adaptations such as IVA and MOT were done and I got my car a few days ago in great condition. Very professional. The online updates they use are very easy to understand and serve as a reminder of which processes have been done or need to be done. I would use them again in future for yet another import and am grateful for all they did for me. I even got my car delivered right to my doorstep in Swindon after all work had been done and all the DVLA registrations were complete.
After searching the web I came across a few companies to transfer our car from Australia to the UK. After a few quotations I settled on SMC due to savings of over £350 compared to the others. SMC provided an online portal that gave good communication as we progressed the transfer to the UK. Documentation was straight forward and easy to understand. After many months of goverment compliance etc we now have our car, it did take 6 months from start to finish but no delays from SMC. They valeted the car inside and out and she looked great. Communication with the team has been really great, any question I had was answered quickly and answered conclusively. The portal system is great for seeing the progress with your car and makes it clear anything that might be outstanding. Picking the car up and meeting some of the team and facilities was really good and their garage is very impressive. My car hadn't been driven on the road for over 4 months but driving it home was absolutely hassle free and testament to the detailed job ShipMyCar team did. A great company to deal with and would highly recommend them to anybody importing a car in to the UK.
ShipMyCar dealt with the move of my landrover Defender from South Africa to Uk. The journey, clearance and tests took a while ( not Shipmy car fault!) and throughout the team kept me posted. ShipMyCar did everything they said they would, were informative and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending them! Great folks!
ShipMyCar are a very professional well run company. I used them to ship 2 cars and whilst there were challenges to be overcome with both vehicles, ShipMyCar handled them very well, and kept me informed of progress either by e-mail, or through their very informative client portal
Order placed and paid for an Arizona car import on 4 May 2018, and car received end of July, making the entire process 3 months. During this time, there was poor communication, while initially the title was "lost". I had to waste my time chasing FedEx and a copy of the title, then two weeks later it turned out misplaced by CFR - something they should have chased all along. Once the car arrived the repairs were estimated at about £2000 and was told it's a "restoration" job. Mind you, anything above changing a wheel bearing is probably a restoration for them. It took 3 months to get the mechanicals sorted. And they broke the electricals. These took another 5 months to get sorted because the technician left the company and no one else was qualified to work on electricals. I am actually not sure if this shop actually is qualified to repair cars at all. Perhaps the only licence they have is to import them. At no point they told me they will repair the car themselves. And the rates are not cheap either at £65/hr. So 11 months later I had a repaired car, after paying way more than originally estimated, imported by a shop unable to repair cars. No, the car was not "restored", not for £2500 for sure. Just the usual mechanicals, one welding, and one relay fixed. To leave 2 stars is being overly positive.
