Jul 07,2022Exceptionally well-designed and engineered smart shade system. Attractive and functional units adaptable to a variety of window configurations and shapes. Just completed purchasing and installing 40 SmartWings shades on every window and wood-framed glass door in my three-story home. Every unit fit spaces perfectly, connected and responded to remotes (one for each floor) and synchronized with Apple HomeKit in less than a minute after wake-up and pairing each unit. Preset range of movement was set perfectly for every unit prior to shipping. Expansive fabric selection for translucent and blackout shades made integration with existing decor simple and easy. Selecting and configuring individual units to best fit octagonal and trapezoidal window shapes was an interesting challenge, made much easier with focused attention and knowledgeable customization support by SmartWings Customer Support Rep. Delivery of bulk order took a scant few days, and units arrived on my doorstep unscathed, exceptionally well-packaged and protected. Mounting hardware, remotes, solar panels and manuals included, with spares! Typically took longer to unpack units than it did to install, connect, and functionally check them after mounting. Installation of all 40 units required just under two days, working alone, using conventional tools, including installation of solar panels and integration and verification of functionality through remotes, HomeKit and Siri. Delighted to discover HomeKit version of system works through Apple Watch, as well as iPad, iPhone and iMac. Translucent fabrics have an elegant appearance when viewed from outside with shades closed … vast improvement over conventional blinds. Matching fabric facades on front of each unit allow units to blend in seamlessly with each room’s color scheme. Closing shades on windows exposed to direct sunlight significantly lowers daytime temperature inside my house, an unexpected but much appreciated benefit of low transmissibility fabric. Blackout fabric shades were used in only one room where 24-hour daylight makes sleeping more challenging during summer. SmartWings wide selection of blackout fabrics and custom-fitted shades provide a welcome respite. Key to success on this project was absolutely best in class customer service by dedicated CSR who worked with me through every step, managing custom ordering, providing unique design ideas, facilitating invoicing and payment, and handling expedited delivery tracking and management. Best customer service I have ever encountered for any product, ever. Well done to SmartWings design and engineering teams, logistics (packaging and delivery) and web site implementation management. Impressive work, across the board!

May 21,2022Excellent Product. SmartWings is a great company who knows what they are doing in the Smart Shade industry. Shipping took 3 weeks. Packaging was outstanding the product compared to other shades I have tested was superior. Simple to pair with HomeKit and very effective in setting limits, nice remote, and great features. The motor is very quiet for a automatic shade. Much quieter then anticipating. The blackout shades are excellent as are the light filtering. Lots of different options to choose from. I was skeptical about purchasing this product but am a real believer now. I am sharing with other HomeKit and SmartHome communities as these are THE shades to buy for your smarthome. I cannot speak to Alexa/non-homekit versions but assume they are seamless.

May 20,2022The installation instructions could use some improvement. We had additional brackets which were not in the instructions. Some of the instructions seem out of order. And there are instructions that seem relevant to narrow shades, when we bought very wide shades. Once past the installation though, the shades are fantastic.

May 20,2022When the ordering process started, I had no intention of buying custom blinds. Their support contact was super-prompt and did a great job working with me. I even sent pictures with measurements and they sent back an image with the blinds mocked up on the picture. They helped me dial in the exact dimensions to work for my house. I think we had something like 30 emails back and forth before I actually bought, just to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. And best of all, the estimate was like 1/3 of the cost of other blinds. The quality is on point, blinds work great, easy to install. So far, GREAT! I just hung them yesterday.
