Jul 20,2021Since we purchased our garage door from the Garage Door Centre in August 2018 at a cost of £2835 we have experienced a number of quality issues relating to the fixed glazed window panels in the hinged dòors. These are made of perspex and in 2020 an unsightly crack appeared in one of the windows. We subsequently complained under warranty and the aftercare service we received was very good albeit we had to wait several months for a replacement and refit, this being understandably due to COVID restrictions. Annoyingly the window that was replaced developed a similar crack in April of this year. Obviously we submitted a second complaint and a similar process of exchange emails and photographic evidence pursued. It is now approaching 4 months, despite numerous phone calls being made to the Company to rectify the fault, we have the same response that the supplier who manufactures the doors have a serious supply and delay issue due to COVID. What is so annoying and unprofessional is that we have received no call backs except on one oçassion when the Company representative has stated he will come back to us, no written messages of apology and no written updates as to when the replacement will be available. One question I have is that if there are such delays in the supply and manufacturing process what delays are new customers experiencing when they order a new door. Please be warned!

Apr 09,2021Excellent service from David and the team from beginning to end. I am delighted with my newly installed sectional double garage door. An excellent product which perfectly matches the description. The door arrived when promised and the installation was carried out with meticulous attention to detail, including overcoming challenges posed by the installation of new soffit boards installed after the measurements were taken at the time of my order. If I had another garage, I would definitely ask David and the team to install a new door!

Mar 18,2021I have never written a negative review prior to this - in fact I am shocked at having to write this. More-so given the fact that I clearly stated I wanted an amicable resolution to an error made on the part of the company. I paid over £3500 for 2 garage doors but the wrong colour doors fitted, and now being emailed by various staff/director that I am likely to face further charges to rectify the mistakes. I asked if I could go to the showroom to check the colour, as we wanted dark brown. I was not allowed the opportunity and COVID was the excuse. Anyhow a photo of a dark brown door came on the estimate and I agreed that this is the correct colour. This I have sent back to the company as a screenshot clearly showing it is dark brown. What I have fitted is 2 very black doors. The rest of the street all have dark brown garage doors and we wanted to replace our old broken ones for new ones but in keeping with the street ie. dark brown. Despite having the image clearly sent back to him, the staff member firstly was rude on the phone when I first called to explain their error, and secondly all of a sudden has samples that he could send out. Why not offer this in the beginning?! Email follows with his comments that further costs will have to be incurred? Absolutely disgraceful. I had already used the company a few years ago but am extremely shocked at where they are now. Another important point, they want the full amount of money before fitting, which I have paid. The error was only noticed once the fitters had removed my old garage doors and so no choice but to get the doors on - not to mention it was pouring with rain on fitting day. I will be seeking resolution to this as I clearly have an image of what I agreed to - with the exact description and it shows it to be dark brown in colour! I will be looking to speak to the company directors, who the very understanding fitters have said are good people and will not leave a customer with the wrong doors when I clearly have proof of the colour I agreed to in photographic form. The fitters even agreed that the image on my estimate is dark brown and nothing like what has been fitted. I await a response from someone more senior than this particular staff member.

Jan 20,2021I was absolutely delighted with my new garage door and the quality is stunning. From the first sales enquiry to the hand over of the final product I felt stress free, fully informed and confident with this company. The two chaps that came to fit my new doors were prompt, courteous, clean and tidy and carried out the installation to a high standard. The fully explained the workings, maintenance schedule and warranties which even an untechnical type like me could understand. They took all the old door and mess away and left my garage tidier than when they arrived. Don't be frightened about the slightly higher costs as these are well made doors made using high quality materials and components. Also there are many features that cheaper doors do not have. A courtesy light, stopping the door in any position so air can be let in, great solid design, manual function if there is no power and the ability to add other functions like alarms, cameras and other equipment later on. I would definitely recommend The Garage Door Centre in Wellingborough to anyone looking for a sleek and great looking addition to their property.

Nov 06,2020David and the team have been nothing short of outstanding. We had a fairly complicated situation, which resulted in a fixed panel being required as well as an up and over door. David spent a huge amount of time, genuinely keen to ensure that the end result, including floor tiles, measurements, and overall fit was 100% correct. Countless visits, phone calls to the supplier; and whilst there were issues (beyond his companies control) remained courteous, polite, and professional throughout. Having had 2 houses renovated and dealt with 100's of trades, David is one of the very few that I have literally zero hesitation recommending to anyone. I couldn't be happier with the service and professionalism and I have a high bar. Thankyou David for everything.

Oct 30,2020When we purchased and had our door installed all was great and went very well. The same certainly cannot be said when we had an issue with the door not operating correctly. David charged us £78 to come out and look at the door. He 'diagnosed' the fault to be that the motor had failed. Funny really because I have never known a motor to work in one direction and not the other!. He quoted a massive £570 for a replacement motor. This was ordered and installed, guess what it didn't fix the problem! He then wanted another £545 for control unit as this was now deemed to be the problem. I found the same control unit available on the web for £240 and asked David due to the issues we had faced if he would discount the control unit. He became very rude and effectively told me to 'sort my own door issue out'. At this point I asked him to remove the new motor and refund the money. Being honest the team at the Garage Door Center have been very polite, supportive and professional, its a real shame their boss is so small minded and rude. He discredits his own company. I would never do business with this man again.

The complete lack of communication, responsibility for mistakes or even empathy for the fact they he completely misquoted our order genuinely blew my mind. If you are looking to support a business in the current Covid world, i strongly suggest looking elsewhere.
