The best B&B on my tour of Scotland and North of England. Friendly clean, modern and tidy and so many nice places in the village to eat even for a single traveller. Alnwick a amazing place to visit especially the castle.
Easy to use and understand, All booked done and finished in a flash.
Great location, great views over this working fishing harbour and very helpful staff especially Tori. My Australian in laws were blown away as they have never experienced anything like it before.
Ideal stopping place with several restaurants in the area. But beware, even on a Friday most stop serving at 9pm. We were on the way to a dog show with well-behaved dogs and the adjoining paddock was perfect for letting the dogs have a good run before setting off in the morning. Dogs were able to stay in the room by arrangement, which was much appreciated. Super breakfast. I really wish John and his team all the success in the world to bring the place up to standard.
We stayed at the Tudor Rose Guest House at the beginning of May. The room was very comfortable - a huge bathroom with natural light. We even had a bathrobe and slippers supplied! The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. The housekeeping was wonderful. Breakfast was delightful and imaginative - a little fruit compote to start followed by the full monty. The bread was lovely - the hostess adds her own secret ingredient to this - just ask her what it is; you'll be surprised. The house was so easy to locate just outside the village. The views were lovely too - we just hope that the developers don't move in and spoil it all. We would love to stay here again and to see a little more of this area of Kent. This Guest House is one we will readily recommend.
Nice area bt when shown our room were then told it was not en-suite and we had to walk down some stairs and across a hallway to our bathroom. Breakfast nothing to write home about.
A very cosy room in stunning surrounds, fantastic staff and a top class English breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome and an open bar in the lounge was the perfect place for a night cap after a day in the town. It is perfectly situated a stones throw from the river and beautiful town centre, everything is walkable distance and it's a very feel good place.
Location was perfect, breakfast was very good. A bit disappointed with a few things ...... threadbare towels, chipped mugs & lack of soap in bathroom, these are small low cost items which can be easily replaced.
Good stay at George, safe garage for car, good size bed and all facilities up to scratch. Perfect place for us to break long journey and to visit friends.
It was very affordable and the space was lovely, Its just the company never gave us a key code for the door, we had to ring for one on the day. Then the one they gave didn't work, we spent a good hour and a half outside before we could get in the people in the main building had no access meaning we were very reliant on phone communication. The guy who spoke to us on the phone was quite abrupt and rude and seemed incompetent. I would definitely recommend the place and for the price it would have been a definite 5, but the customer service was so bad and difficult to access (the number given to us with the email didn't work properly) that it has to be a 2 im afriad.
This website had guest houses where I actually needed it, rather than suggesting somewhere 5 miles away like others have! The website is easy to use, with some good pics. I like the fact that you can put a deposit down when you book it but don't have to pay the full amount til nearer the time.
You Advertised it as a 4 STAR HOTEL ! Its Not !!! Our room or Suite was Awful Like something out of the 60s. Old faded yellow decor, Old style great big TV with a small screen, ( the only other place I've seen these TVs is at the Rubbish Tip ) Old Maroon bathroom suite, that had seen better days, and the bathroom so small the door had to open outwards !!!. When you sat on the toilet you had to be careful not to hit your face on the sink. When I complained I was told many of the room were owned and let of by Time Share and as I had booked it through the internet ( Trustpilot ) I had no redress with the hotel It seem Hotel bookings are not covered by the distance selling act !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beware !!
room was disapointing wash basin was disapointing did not feel very welcome
A very stylish clean room, large bathroom, friendly staff. Good location in a small village, ideal base to explore local area
Hi had a lovley time, very fiendley and spotless, near to town centre, pubs nearby and i cannot recomend it enough.
Chose this Property as it had so many good reviews. It was clean and the owner very friendly and helpful. However, the room and in particular the shower were a big disapointment. If we had paid half I would still have felt overcharged. Maybe the rooms on lower floors are better but the top floor room was not worth the money.
I booked for 1 night only which was accepted most others want at least two nights. The room was well decorated and very clean. the host made me welcome and gave me an alternative breakfast as I was leaving early. I would have no hesitation in booking them again.
There are many reviews of this small charming hotel on the net and all without exception are full of praise for the hotel and owners. The hotel is situated just 2 mins walk from the town centre far enough away for the late night revelers not to be a problem and near enough to pop into the town if you are not the best or indeed not so interested in walking. The breakfast is excellent but then that goes for it all of the hotel in truth. Oh! You can get more facilities in much larger hotels but this is homely, clean, friendly and very welcoming hotel and that goes for the owners. With just 4 rooms you get the personal treatment others struggle to provide and all at a very good price for a hotel in the lakes. This is a 4 star rated hotel and it meets it in every way. As a small hotel it deserves 5 stars IMO as there is even off road parking which many small hotels can't provide esp so close to the town centre which if you know Keswick thats a real plus. Only downside is it is very popular so if you see the dates available you are wanting book it quick as they won't be there long.
I can't recommend this hotel enough. Everything about it is first class and top rate apart from the price, we have stayed with them twice now and told friends who have also booked. Have stayed in an other hotel near the harbour but value for money does not compare with the links. Looking forward to our next stay.

Jun 21,2013We had our Wedding meal and stayed for two nights in honeymoon suite. All our guests were so pleased with the facilities and rooms. We had a fantastic wedding meal no complaints what so ever. The waiting/bar staff were so helpful and i wont forget all the help and kindness we received from everyone at the Solway Lodge!! We'll be back!!!
