We stayed at the Paignton Court for 6 days in June for the first time but having holidayed in the Torbay area many times in the past. Picked this Hotel due to online reviews and knowing the location well. The Hotel was always clean and tidy with great breakfast and service from the friendly owners. A big plus was the accessible car park, the only drawback was traffic noise from the busy main road so we had to sleep with the window closed not being used to it. However we enjoyed our stay and the Hotel is well worth the money, would return in the future.

Really handy flat on Sauchiehall St. Follow the instructions to the office up the street, then everything is straight forward. Limited time parking opposite & round the corner. Lift or stairs upto flat. Opening windows onto quiet court. Basic cooking equipment & adequate bathroom. Good comfy sleep with no neighbour or street noise. Top real ale pub just over the road, great breakfast cafes & restaurant options. Kelvin Park a stones throw away, very handy for parents visiting student offspring! Any quirks soon sorted out by the folk up the road in the lettings office

we arrived earlier than the recommended time but were greeted cordially and shown our room after being given a parking permit to put in the car. the room was given a complete change(not the sheets) each day. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly .

Thoroughly enjoyed two days in the New Forest back of beyond. Food and service very good and the room was comfortable. Weather was good enough to enjoy long walks around hotel plus eating and drinking in the extensive gardens. Will go again!!

I have never in my whole life experienced a worse hotel, the receptions customer service was atrocious, there were ants in one of the rooms I stayed in and Tony who owns the Hill House Hotel was so rude, arrogant and obnoxious it was unbelievable. WORST HOTEL EVER!

Excellent standard of accomodation in an interesteing building. Great views but be prepared for a very steep drive or walk to get to the guest house itself. Superb brekfasts.

The Tennyson House Hotel has a very misleading webpage it say's that all their rooms have been recently refurbished But our Double on-suit room was very disappointing. In the corner of the room was a boxed in area that housed shower sink & toilet the sliding door didn't have a runner on the bottom so was running on the carpet and had done so for a very long time the carpet was worn with a nasty tear the door didn't fit properly there was no bin in the bathroom which I think is a must. And there was someone walking around the hotel in their pyjamas which I though was the owners wife but was told that was not the case she was a guest who was using one of the bathroom facilities! Although having said that she walked through the reception area & straight through to the kitchen? I wouldn't stay here again we only stayed one night it wasn't very comfortable. Regards April & Richard

Very good location, easy to find. It was on the main road but you wouldn't have realised. The room was comfortable although a little on the small side. Very good en suite. Breakfast was very good; good choice and variety. Excellent service from the hosts, very welcoming.
