We found this place in great proximity to the railway station and the town itself. The room we stayed in was true to the online advertisement. The beds were very comfortable. The owners are very lovely people who serve delicious breakfast every morning. I would highly recommend staying in this guest house for a relaxing break.
We really enjoyed the holiday we had here. The Apartment had a wow factor as soon as we walked in. We'ed been to hexham a number of times before (staying elswhare) but this time we took our daughter (mid 20's) with us. It was an ideal location for an easy walk into Hexham for meals and pub visits. The train Station (Newcastle, Gateshead, Carlisle) 10-15mins walk and an M&S two minutes walk away for your shoppling needs. There was plenty of parking space at the apartment for when we did want to use the car to visit Hadrians Wall, Alnwick, Lindesfarne, Cragside etc. We will have to go back again because you always run out of time - too many places to visit - not enough time to see them all. See if you can get a guide/helpoer to take you round Hexham Abbey - We had a friend show us round and the history is amazing. The Owners are friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Loved it.
We spent four days at Ferndale House. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome by Christine and Andy. The food was great (large portions), the room overlooking the garden was perfect (modern and very clean). The beautiful area of Wye Valley and Forest of Dean on the doorstep. We shall be returning again. Very highly recommended.
We had a lovely overnight stay in a well-appointed, clean bedroom. Breakfast was delicious and the owner very friendly and helpful.
Stayed for two nights with my husband , everyone was very helpful and friendly , room was excellent., can not praise it enough
the hosts were very friendly, breakfast was really good, great location
Chosen for convenience the maisonette was very close to what we had to do. Cost though not really a factor was low. The old addage of 'you get what you pay for' applies here - the whole place was very 'tired'. A lick of paint and a kitchen makover would have made the experience more pleasant. Not a pleasant stay - we were happy to leave it behind us. The booking and administration of the accommodation was first class. Just the actual property let the whole experience down. We wouldn't book a similar deal again.
Superb (room was a little small) but it was clean, bed comfortable and breakfast was just fine in splendid sorroundings - all in all "just what we wanted in Lincoln" and so close to the cathedral etc.
Rooms were very clean, tidy.Parking was nil.Breakfast was a fiasco,Queing seemed to go out of the window, however, the staff did manage to find us room when i asked for an alternate place to eat.
Nice clean room with view of the sea, good breakfast. The bathroom needs to be updated. Only a bath, no shower. No door to the bathroom which myself and partner did not like at all! Lots of stairs to our room. expensive to park in hastings.
We received a warm and friendly welcome on our arrival. The room my sister and I shared was very nice, spacious with good facilities and information not only on the B&B, but on areas of interest in the surrounding area. We were given good advice and clear directions (photocopied) on where to go for a very enjoyable evening meal. We would certainly go back again and hopefully for more than the one night we had available so that we may enjoy a beautiful and peaceful holiday. Perhaps the only criticism is that the signage from the main road could be much clearer especially when navigator and driver are in their seventies and eyesight is not the sharp!
The website for the Long Range does not do justice to the quality of accommodation. It is a very peaceful location with great views from the 1st floor and a lovely mature garden with tables and chairs to sit in. My room was clean and comfortable and my sister had the room below me overlooking the garden with a door to a patio to sit out on. There is also a conservatory and bar area as well as a comfortable lounge. We had a warm welcome and there was a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely stay again!
The Alhambra hotel is within good walking distance to the centre of York. Breakfast was good, however we found the waiting staff very unprofessional talking to each other across the breakfast room whilst serving customers, shame as they were lovely. Perhaps some training would be advantageous. The condition of the rooms are not perfect but for what we paid we thought it was value for money.
food very good, treated well on arrival, views excellent, staff very good, rooms clean but could do with updated, maintenance on balcony could be updated, privacy partition between rooms on balcony is required, carpets need to be lifted and floor boards screwed down to stop creaking, which is an unacceptable noise.but we enjoyed the break and would still recomend the hotel mainly for the food and lovely staff. jimmy brown.
The site was fine - I booked 3 hotels, but I could NOT get the page to line up to print - on any if them -- basically only half was there. Copying '& pastiing took ages due to text boxes - one if them dropped the name if the hotel! Plus the big black lines use a lot if ink
Location brilliant otherwise, Generally good with nice room and good shower but initial welcome was poor and breakfast disappointing.
Although a little way into town this guesthouse is on a frequent bus route and does have parking. Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet and the breakfast room overlooked a peaceful courtyard garden. I was however upset to find it's £10 cheaper if you book direct with the owners rather than via Toprooms.
THE MAIN THING WAS, DESPITE 'THE MANOR' LOOKING CLEAN & TIDY YOU WERE MADE TO FEEL VERY WELCOME & COMFORTABLE.
If you are not looking for a top quality place to stay, but a comfortable, family run place of residence for a few nights, then I fully recommend this location. The staff could not do enough to help and breakfast was to order. My family and I felt most welcome and all at an affordable price. I was however a little disappointed with my room, as I had booked for the family room with a view of the sea and had been given a room at the back of the property with a shared bathroom. With a young son, sharing the bathroom is not always the best option, as midnight toilet runs can be a little awkward. Apart from that though, I recommend this accommodation.
