cancelled room 24 hours before but NO REFUND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brandraw House Cumbria - Sounded good, but very dissapointing, someone did not do their homework, by reviewing this establishment, not been updated since the 70's , turquoise en-suite, big cracks in hand basin, no mention being a house of god, big pictures of Jesus hanging everywhere, no mention of being run by Dutch mormans. Very dissapointing
Definitely an ideal location for visitors to Bannockburn, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. There's a licensed restaurant within walking distance and Hillhead Farms has easy access to major highways. Good value!
We booked this as a convenient stop on return from a break in the West Country. The overall value was excellent due to the bargain price on offer and we were aware that there would be a Friday night gig at the time. The only problem with that was due to the event only sandwiches were offered for an evening meal and as a result we had to find a local restaurant. If we had been told that at the time of booking I doubt that we would have gone there.
The breakfasts were lovely and the staff we met were pleasant. The room was clean. However we booked a family room which said it had a double and two singles and when we arrived it had one z-bed as the single and no other bed available so one of us slept on the quilts and pillows on the floor. A single bed turned up for the second night. The room was over the bar and there was a party until 1pm in the morning with the clearing up noise ceasing by 2pm. The noise from the extractor fans were loud all night and the curtain rail fell on top of me when I drew the curtains in the morning. A man was sent to fix in within half hour of reporting it. So not the best place for our first ever visit to Scotland!
This is a great site that specialises in independent hotels and guest houses only and you only have to pay for the first night on booking, you can pay the rest when you get there, which is great when booking well in advance. Some sites entice you with offerings of a discount or nectar points, but then they make you pay for the full amount upfront. Toprooms don't use these devious means of obtaining your money. Also it is good that they promote independent business, where the service is much more friendly and personal than corporate hotels and these businesses need a boost as they are often struggling to survive and they need all the help they can get. Well done Toprooms.
would highly recomend using toprooms.com. simple to book anywhere you like and to find all available rooms with very good prices. have used more than once and will continue too.
It has been a while now since I used the site.
Lovely old pub with big log fire.. Great evening meal and scrummy breakfast. Very friendly. Comfy room.
From the initial welcome and throughout the 3 days ,our stay here was a pleasure as our hosts provided an excellent experience. Welcoming coffee and cake on arrival, good parking area, excellent breakfasts with homemade superior granola , preserves and American style breakfast on request. Bedroom was tastefully furnished , very clean, comfy bed and the bathroom was provided with shower/hair gels. Good sized shower. Very pleasant garden to relax in. Highly recommended.
Shelford lodge served us well and met all our expectations. Plenty of parking and amenities to make our stay pleasant. Would stay again!
great welcome, lovely room which was spotless. breakfast was excellent. Will use again when in the area. 10/10
The New Road Guest House was an great place to stay while in Chippenham, plenty of parking at the rear to accommodate many guests, private rear side-entrance and spacious, but cozy and beautifully maintained rooms with everything you'd need during your stay. Our Hosts and breakfast reflected the accommodation perfectly, a friendly and personable couple with tons of Travel\Life experience to share if easily provoked into a discussion at the breakfast table or any other time. If in Chippenham again, I would stay here without a second thought!
Welcomed warmly by Jill Habgood who has taken great effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Really appreciated the fresh fruits in the room.
We stayed at Stone Villa, Chester on the recommendation of a friend and we weren't disappointed. Wonderful hosts, excellent bedroom and bathroom, very roomy and immaculately clean. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and not hurried. All in all a great 2 nights. Very close to Chester centre and the amazing zoo. Do give Stone Villa a go........you won't be disappointed. The web site is very informative too. Beryl and Ridley Amos Newcastle upon Tyne
I was really pleased with the standard of the accommodation in what was an elegant 19th century house, complete with back stairs for the servants ! Being on foot I needed close proximity to the city centre and was thrilled to be able to text on a photo taken from my window of Bath Abbey seen from my bedroom window, The staff were friendly and helpful and a great help to a lone traveller.!
Very comfortable room. Attentive staff. Good breakfast, especially the bacon.
I canceled with in plenty of notice and lost my deposit
I needed to find a place to put up 4 cyclist for 1 night in Devon. I put off the task for a few days because I thought it may prove difficult. The web site was easy to use and I quickly found the right place, the descriptions were clear and the booking was made I will use you again
