Magic Mike London trip 20th November 2021 A massively disorganised trip, we didn't receive information regarding pick up times until 2 days before the trip. The drivers had to double back on themselves to pick up passengers causing the travel time to London to be much longer than it needed to be. 6 hours to London! When we got on the bus, it was shameful of the company to make the bus drivers inform everyone that the hotel was in fact not the hilton but the International Britania. We weren't all booked onto the same show and some had seats and some had standing tickets despite the same price being paid. We were due to be dropped off at the hotel at 2 and then picked up at 3 to be dropped off in London even if our show time wasn't until 10pm. And there was only one pickup organised at 11:45pm. Some had to make their own way in and we were over 30 minutes away from Central London. It took us over an hour to get into London due to traffic. An absolute shambles and I would not use or recommend this company. Let's hope you give us compensation because it was not the holiday we booked!
Went to London last sat not a good experience will definitely never use this company again.Could have been a much better break if there was even a touch of organisation 🚌 was good driver good but he had no way of keeping informed with the company shambles. seven hours to get there .Things went well until we reached Mega services where a feeder bus should have been waiting that was nine o’clock no bus and driver didn’t know how to get in touch we’ll cut a long story short ended up phoning my daughter who came to pick us up at half past ten quite how they manage to keep a business going is a miracle 🥺
Went away to Oxford and Windsor a few weekends ago, we were told to meet outside Aberdare library at 7:50am, coach didn't turn up until gone 9am. No one rang and told us there would be a wait, when I rang the phone number I got put through to a gentleman who said there were 10 people missing from another pick up point, that's why it was late. he said not to worry as there was only 1 pick up point after us. Absolute LIES, there were 5 pick up points after us. We didn't even get to oxford until 2pm. We then were told by driver that he'd been told from travel with matthew that we should spend £15 in the bar each and to keep our receipts and matthew would refund us. We didn't even want to spend £15 in the bar, and one of my friends don't even drink and the coffee machine wasn't working. Arrived back home and rang travel with matthew on the Monday to be told that the woman dealing with the issues was busy and she would ring me back in 2 minutes, no one ever rang back. Rang Tuesday to speak to someone again and was told the lady who was dealing with it is wasn't in! and she would ring me back tomorrow but I told them not to ring as I was on nights and I would be sleeping during the day. I have since emailed, facebook messaged and even tried to ring all day today and I have not got through to one person. the hotel was nice and the coach driver was amazing from another company, can't remember the name. but customer services at travel with matthew has been appalling. 1 week later and still nothing from anyone.
Firstly I wish I could give a zero star, absolutely appalling company to travel with. How can it possibly be a 12.5 hour round trip to London and back. Total breakdown in communication between the company and drivers of the coaches they hire. They are a complete disgrace to the travel industry. No apologies given just a bs excuse for bad experiences. I for 1 wont book with them again and will continue to spread the word on how bad they are.
We had booked the Birmingham Christmas markets for the 20th November. I received a phone call around 2 weeks before saying the hotel was being changed. I googled the new hotel that was offered Ibis Styles Oldbury and it had good reviews so stated I was happy to still continue the trip. I was told I would receive itinerary 7-10 days before. I had nothing a week before so I emailed and sent a Facebook message and finally got a reply. 2 days before we were due to travel I received the itinerary in the post and it was now saying a different hotel which was now in Coventry - a different one that was originally advertised but I thought maybe it was an error as the reviews were awful. Itinerary stated coach was picking us up at 540am. Phonecall at 520 asking where I was as the coach was waiting for us and had us down as 515. Very different to my paperwork. Literally had to run from my house to the pick up point to find it wasn't a coach and was a mini bus and we were the only people being collected. We then travelled to swansea, port Talbot and merthyr to pick up more people. We were told we were going to Brywnmar to get the coach but the coach was already at Merthyr waiting for us. Luckily the driver had common sense and checked. We had already been on the mini bus for over 3 hours picking people up which isn't great with no toilet break as I am almost 8 months pregnant Finally now on the coach we drove to Birmingham to have a day at the xmas markets. We got picked up at 5 and were told the included dinner was at 8pm. Got to the hotel and were told it was now at 7. After checking in at gone 630 we had little time to get changed. The included dinner was disgusting. The hotel was 1*. The reviews were awful. It stunk of smoke and cannabis. The hairdryer was broken and the rooms were disgusting. The breakfast in the morning was OK. The hotel was like something from the film 'The shinning'. We checked out and then had another day at the xmas markets before returning home. Luckily for us the driver was fantastic and made things a whole lot better. I will not be using this company again. Funnily enough the option to review on Facebook has been removed. Do not use this company. Looking at previous reviews there is a pattern of disorganisation and peoples complaints are never responded to
Simply an incredibly awful company. My wife and 10 of her friends booked a night away in Liverpool for this coming Saturday (20th November) they booked this trip in may and paid in full in September. 3 days before they were due to go, they had a phone call off the travel agents to say that TWM has cancelled the trip, but they could offer a night out in Manchester!!!! And then spend a day in Liverpool before heading home. In what world would they think this is acceptable!! Disappointing as this is, they accepted that they wouldn't be going. A few hours later, the travel agent contacted my wife to say that TWM has now decided that they were going to run the trip after all. Right, trip back on, only for the travel agent to contact my wife again a few hours later to say that TWM has decided to cancel the trip again. I'm dumbfounded. Brewery and a night out comes to mind!!! Looking back at reviews in the last 12 months, it's clear that Matthew isn't in charge, it must be Basil Fawlty.
What a farce of a business! TWM cancelled my first trip for Friends Festive scheduled for November stating the reason was that a large group booking cancelled, so everyone gets cancelled despite booking early on in the year, great customer service that right! And they strike again! three days before a trip to Liverpool they contact my wonderfully hard working travel agent to say that the hotel has double booked, despite booking this in march to leave in November and would we like to got to Manchester instead, with a day trip to Liverpool on the day of departure! I am lost for words to think that they would even consider this acceptable. Oh and Leanne from Treorchy branch really values your custom by placing you on hold and before this spurts out OMG verbally when I asked for an explanation, that's if you don't mind waiting over 40 minutes for someone to answer your telephone call. So my summing up of this fiasco in food terms, if you go to a restaurant and order a vegetarian pizza be grateful when a meat feast arrives. Travel with Matthew are one of the worst travel agents that I have ever had the misfortune to have booked with and I advise you consider very carefully before proceeding.
Our final day with this travel firm was diabolical. We were left stranded in the rain waiting for a taxi to take us home which did not arrive. This added to a two-hour delay from an en-route shopping trip, has resulted in health problems. No apology has been offered by the company for the delay in Exeter or the non-arrival of our taxi home.
Just back from weekend to Paignton at Palace hotel . Could not fault hotel amazing food nice rooms spotlessly clean . Staff amazing . Bar prices bit high but as expected in hotel . Coach new and clean but not being able to use toilet but a damper on travel . Travelled from Aberdare pick up 7.15am far too early other trips been on pick up between 8/9am stopped at Exeter on way back should have left there at 1pm but didn’t leave till 3pm ! They need to improve on their coach transport arrangements but other than that couldn’t fault hotel
Booked Stratford and Sunday lunch today waited at the bus stop for an hour phoned emergency number to ask where is the bus to busy with other customers so gave up and came home still waiting for explanation heard today from Matthew had full Refund couldn't have been more apologetic problems will be addressed
my first and only bus trip with travel with matthew. never again. took 9 hours to get from abertillery to Blackpool. got picked up at 5 in abertillery then went to pontlottyn, merthyr, a few other valleys, the pontypridd and Cardiff. 3 hours after getting on the coach in abertillery we were in cardiff totally ridiculous. no logic at all. wasn't much fun with a fed up child. I did complain at the time but no apology
Came back from Glasgow last week with twm great trip Rob the driver was great the hotel was in the middle of nowhere I'm sure twm will look at this for further trips the courtyard by marriot the hotel was great and the feeder driver coming back Mark was such a lovely guy I been with matthew on 4 trips this year and will be booking a few more for 2022
We have just returned from the sail rail and Yorkshire Dales 4 day excellent trip. Lovely bus Gavin was an excellent driver, especially down some streets!! His wife Lee who accompanied him was brilliant in organising all aspects and for looking after everyone on the coach. Thanks to you both for making our trip more enjoyable. We were only 20 on the trip and everyone talked about a reunion on the trip home with Gavin and Lee. I don't know how the hotel would have coped with a full coach as it seems the lack of hospitality staff everywhere is now a huge problem but that's not Matthews fault. I doubt very much if the company made any money on this trip, probably lost, but certainly all 20 of us were really glad you did not cancel it. Thanks for a really enjoyable trip. 1st time travelled with TWM but certainly wont be the last.
Recently returned from my first trip with TWM, travelled to Yorkshire, Lakes and steam. Excellent trip, our driver Gavin and courier Lee made the experience first class. Lovely Modern coach and excellent itinerary and good value for money. Great selection of tours, trips, holidays to choose from. We will book again, great website to view and book.
Went on 4day trip to sail and rail the Yorkshire dales on the 13 September to the 16 September the trip was fantastic our coach driver Gavin and his wife Lee was brilliant they went above and beyond taking care everybody on the coach and on all of the excursions all off us would like thank Gavin and Lee once again for making our holiday special I will book holiday again with travel with Matthew.
Travelled with this company for the first time and all I can say is thank you for a lovely experience. Gavin and Lee really made the trip. Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. So thoughtful and considerate of the whole coach needs. You are both stars. The only reason for the four stars was down to lack of communication of trip details which was more a admin issue. Will definitely book again.
Booked a trip to London for 3 days going on 20th August, this was then cancelled on 16th August due to an issue with the hotel. After making a complaint about this & breach of data protection which nothing had been done regarding I’m still waiting for my refund due to the fact the cheque I was sent “BOUNCED”. Customer service with the company appalling.
Recently travelled to Peppa Pig World with my grandchildren via Travel with Matthew, and I could not recommend them enough. Our experience was stress free and the children had a great time. The coach driver was fabulous and our booking experience was good start to finish. Thank you Travel with Matthew From the Rosemary Family
Recently travelled to Llandudno and had the best experience of my life. There were 17 of us on a group booking and we all had a ball. great hotel, great food, great service, and everything about it run smoothly.

Nov 27,2021We booked a holiday in February going to 3 Countries in December. We received a phone call on 2nd November cancelling the trip due to lack of passengers and was told I would be refunded in 14 days. I rang after 16 days, spent over 30 minutes trying to get through to be told that the refund policy is 14 working days! Still no refund - rang again to be told the person dealing with refunds is off sick until the following week and I'll get my refund either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday! The person on the phone didn't really care. The refund due is over £900. I would not recommend this company and will not be booking with them again and if I don't get my refund next week will be speaking to the TV programme XRAY
