Jul 23,2024Your website is confusing and far from easy to use. I ended up with a side panel rather than a garden gate. So not a very pleasant or customer friendly service. Since taking receipt we will have to make various adaptions and hope for the best that it will work. We have had various discussions with John the fitter you recommended to see if the panel can be adapted with cross brackets to allow it to be used as a gate as intended.

Jul 13,2024Ordered a bow topped Gate. Everything was sized perfectly as per order. Gate, trim and posts sized exactly as ordered, well finished and protected for delivery. All promised dates on build and delivery met. However the gate hardware created a few problems on both the hinge side and latch. Purchased the adjustable gudgen and pin hinges which required both the coachbolts and the adjustable hinge pin bolts to be cut down to size as they overlapped. They cut with hacksaw but you need a vice and a way of holding while cutting to size. The latch too had to be adapted as the gate design only allows it to be fitted in one position on the gate which with a seven inch latch as supplied meant there was no room for either the latch guide and the latch had to be cut down from it seven inch length. The hardware did not have all the relevant sizes visible at purchase so the sizing problems could not have been anticipated. That said I fortunately has the toolset and skills required to adapt and work around the issue. As this was my first gate fitting, I made a novice error in not realising the bottom of the post must be at least 2 inches lower than the bottom of the gate due to the position of the bottom rail and the hinge pin plate size. So had to raise the gate higher than I had planned. Very happy with quality of gate and a little more guidance on the hardware sizing at purchase point utilising experiences of fitters who would have seen these problems would have seen me give five stars. However gate is up and looking good.

Jul 04,2024Beautifully made Gates. Am really happy with the workmanship and quality of the gates. John Pickin, the installer recommended by Wortley Brothers, ensured that all the correct Ironmongery was ordered at the same time as the gates, which made it all very easy to sort. He then installed the gates plus the oak posts (I bought the oak posts from another company as Wortley Brothers do not manufacture oak posts) and I am truly delighted with his workmanship. I can highly recommend Wortley Brothers Gates and John Pickin as an installer.

The items were delivered untreated and required a gentle wipe down before coating with the finish of our choice. Overall very satisfied with the products ordered.
