May 19,2020Ash is a business man rather than a teacher! His focus is his brand and business and not what is best for the children. Don’t get me wrong, Ash knows his stuff with regards to Maths, English, verbal and non verbal reasoning. He is also very good with communicating with parents. He prepares work down to the T and there is the odd mock test that he takes his time to create. The down side for me, is for the amount we pay for the lessons and for the extra costs that get thrown our way I’d expect more personalised attention. The class sizes are larger than public school classes and he is the only teacher, no assistant helping to ensure that each child gets looked at. He doesn’t provide feedback on what your child is struggling with after marking mock test. Rather it’s generalised to the whole class. The whole structure is generalised to the majority and let’s not forget the class sizes are really big. And now with the whole COVID 19 the class sizes have doubled, So don’t expect any attention on your child individually. I definitely feel like if your child is smarter than the others or more confident then they will get more attention from Ash in class time. A lot of the work is to be done at home with parents, as Ash wizzes through information in classes. If your child doesn’t speak up and misses something or doesn’t fully understand then they are at a loss. His attitude towards you when you question something is, “if you don’t like it you can leave as he has several people waiting for a space”. He is constantly promoting how many kids he got in to grammar school but there is no actually proof. Plus he only really accepts smarter kids into his class and smarter kids will produce better results. It’s not so easy to bring a child who is struggling, to where they need to be in order to pass the 11 plus. Don’t get me wrong this class set up may work for some children. If your child is confident, strives in bigger groups and well knowledgeable then they will do well in Ace 11+. But if your child is like my son who is a bit more shy and reserved and doesn’t like to draw attention to himself, but still needs extra attention when learning some methodologies and concepts then ACE is definitely not for your. Your better off spending half the money you spend on ACE on a 1-1 tutor.

May 17,2020Ash is a very good teacher with discipline, focus, and dedication. He keeps us up to date with all the necessary information. He employs the students with adequate skills to do well in 11+ exam. His success in achieving grammar school admissions over the past years reflects the fact, how well he is doing. Update on my previous review: My son has passed QE Boys, Kent, Bexley, Medway, Wilsons stage 1, St Olaves stage 1. Achieved very good score of 397/423 in Kent exam. Thanks to Ash for his excellent coaching. His tips really helped my son to solve tricky questions in a reasonable time. I would certainly recommend Ash if you are looking for a good tutor to teach your son or daughter for 11+ exams. Update on 2nd March 2021: I am very happy that my son got place in Skinners Grammar School. Thanks to Ash for his dedicated efforts for the past two years. He was very quick to switch to online classes during the pandemic and kept the learning curve of the students on track in preparation for the 11+ exams. Thanks once again to Ash for making our 11+ Journey memorable and successful.

May 17,2020My son absolutely looks forward to Ash's online lessons. Ash is very organised and keeps me on my toes too in terms of GL exam papers to be administered and reviewed before the study session. I have not come across a tutor who goes through the most relevant and upto date exam paper in a indepth manner. My son absolutely loves the vocabulary session during the lessons.

May 16,2020In my honest opinion, there are positives as well as scope for improvement. Positives: On the positive side, the tutor is really organised & systematic, communicates a lot with parents and I have seen him to be quite responsive to messages. When the in-person classes were happening, he managed the whole process of dropping & picking up children really well. Areas which require improvement: I understand he is running a business there should be a balance with the interests of children. Ash prioritises his business over the interests of the children. E.g. he refuses to share marked answer sheets from his exams because he wants to protect his intellectual property. It is important for parents to see what questions our children are getting wrong so we can work on those areas. But we do not get this from Ash. And because it is a class setting he does not work with the children on their individual problem areas either. Also, I have seen other tutors doing much more teaching, giving techniques for solving different types of problems. This not something that Ash does much.

May 15,2020I think Ash is the best tutor one can get for the 11plus journey. We are in the final phase of the journey (2020 test) and I really appreciate his knowledge and know-how on all things 11plus. My boy had ups and lows in this journey, and the latter really helped us understand where he got to improve. He invests a lot on the course materials and they are of great quality. Special thanks to him for switching effiently to online classes during covid lockdown phase.

May 15,2020Ash is instrumental in teaching to 11+ students. I have been sending my child from last two years and his discipline, education style and teaching technique is very special. This kind of expertise only comes when have passion about it. In brief if your child want to learn in discipline for 11+ technique and "fun + strict" balance way then yes Ash and ACE 11+ is right place. As long as you follow the instruction journey will be easy.
