Barbour is a family-owned British heritage brand, established in 1894 in the North East of England. They are renowned for their practical and stylish, outerwear, clothing, accessories and footwear. Forever synonymous with the British countryside, Barbour’s collections span from the best practical country clothing to fashion-forward lifestyle collections. To this day Barbour’s ranges continue to be inspired by the company’s archives which date back to 1910 and each season classic designs are re-interpreted into modern, contemporary silhouettes.
Purchased the Redhead boots, worn approx 10 times and the heel has completely come away. No response from Barbour online contact.
3 pairs of Barbour Chelsea boots bough and all split within the year even a new pair! Nice shoe unfortunately bad quality sole glue. Split when travelling and really put me in a bad position.
I normally don't bother with this sort of thing but i am so angry about the quality of expensive £65 (yes!) slippers given to me as a gift by my wife in mid November. By mid Feb with normal wear they have split and eroded like a £5 pair from the market. I can provide pics if anyone wants to see.
I purchased a Barbour coat from John Lewis. Claimed should have been £235. Within a couple of weeks 2 buttons fallen off and others on the way. I emailed both John Lewis and Barbour and neither offered a solution in fact rather patronising. 35 years ago I purchased a Barbour wax coat and hammered it for years - totally different quality to today’s experience
I sent a drywall jacket back to be relaxed and to have the lining corrected as it had fallen below the back and the cuffs. Obviously a design fault as I had only worn the jacket a few times. I paid in advance and then had to chase for it to be returned. I was then returned with a torn sleeve lining. Obviously their quality control is lacking. I was told they would repair it and send a prepaid postage label. I have emailed twice and phoned twice and I am still waiting for the label. What an abysmal after sales service. I will wait another day and then get the coat repaired elsewhere and do a chargeback with my bank to get the repair fee back. I have over several Barbour coats but would think twice before buying another.
I have just purchased a Barbour gilet in the sale from John Lewis. I can only say that I was disappointed in the quality. To own a Barbour product once felt like something really special but even at sale price I felt that the gilet was not worth keeping because it was shapeless and unremarkable. I suspect that this is because many Barbour products are now being manufactured overseas. The prices remain high because of the Barbour name, but the quality doesn’t seem to be there any more. I’m very disappointed.
Having seen me have to replace my low cost wellies annually, My partner bought me a pair of Barbour Wellingtons last Christmas, explaining that you get what you pay for and the Barbour wellies should last for years. However, Within a month, and me not having worn them very often the insoles started to disintegrate and became painful to wear. Some home, Blue Peter style, repairs using a rubber car mat solved the discomfort and I started using them again.....unfortunately my partner was proved wrong. It is less than one year since she bought me the more expensive Barbour wellies and these now leak too!!!! ......Back to the Dunlop's for me.
Underwhelmed by Barbour Customer Service Department. I recently purchased a lightweight hooded jacket. However the material is too lightweight for the pocket poppers, so within a week the popper had turned itself inside out and looks really unsightly (an extra square of fabric showing). I was hoping for some help / replacement jacket from Barbour but I have simply been ignored :(
I sent a Barbour Beauford through Orvis to the newly moved factory in NC in November to be repaired for some small tears. What I ended up with was in excess of $220 cost and two complete panels replaced instead of the small patches which they have done to my jackets in the past. Overkill in order to make money. I will not use this service again.
Prompt delivery and great product. Customer Service very helpful with advice on sizing.
Sent my 30 year old Northumbria jacket back to Barbour to be rewaxed. What a fantastic job they did. It now looks almost new. I have reproofed it myself in the past, but I could never achieve the same quality finish. A bargain at only £35.
The wax jacket for life!
Fantastic repair service! The workmanship is excellent and the patches are almost invisible. The whole process, from initially seeking a quote to the delivery of the repaired jacket by DPD, went smoothly with no problems. Well done Barbour!
What an utterly useless website! At a time when shops are closed, their main site seems to suggest that they have no jackets at all: "We can't find products matching the selection" is the result from the page: barbourcomukmensall-jackets. Do you want to sell your products or not? I have a screenshot, if you're interested!
Sent my Barbour Sapper jacket for rewaxing on New Year’s Eve and received it back today the 6th of Jan. Was kept updated when it was received to when the job was completed(the same day!) And the return postage was tracked and emails sent by the courier to advise delivery time to within an hour!! Excellent service!
One of the women ( glasses, redish hair) At the Edinburgh shop less than helpful. Very bad customer service. Not the experience you want to have when you are paying that kind of money. I bought a back pack at the shop, I had to order it online from the shop and payed There too. She said it would come packed as a gift, so She sent it from the warehouse to my place. The product arrived in a black plastic bag for transport. I toke it to the shop hoping they would wrap it for me, And she was the most unpolite. Handed me a box whith bad manners, and made an expression of discontent when I asked as well for a bag, so that I didnt have to carry the box in my hands. Then I asked very politely if I could have it done there, since I payed for the product at the shop anyway, and she rolled her eyes and handed it to the young guy, who thank god was super lovely. There was just couple o clients browsing at the shop, so she wasn’texactly busy. I wont go back to that shop.
Very poor quality. I am a big fan of Barbour clothes. Most of the clothes in my wardrobe is from Barbour. Unfortunately from the 2-3 years the quality has dropped drastically and the materials which clothes are made off are not good. A few years ago Barbour brand mean good design and quality. The clothes were worth the money. Now the Barbour brand is no longer luxurios it does ordinary brand like many others- very dissapointed. I return most of the clothes to store now.
Sent my wax jacket to Barbour for repair and once again received a first class result kept me updated from start to finish thanks again barbour for a 5 star job

Feb 20,2021I purchased my husband's wellies 14 months ago. He has hardly worn them due to covid. Yesterday we went for a walk in the fields and they're letting water in. He has worn them on less than 10 occasions. Why has their quality dropped like this? I am fuming. I just purchased a pair of Barbour wellies and I wish I hadn't. Never buying Barbour wellies again. I can't even get my money back or a replacement as Barbour only have a 12 month guarantee. These wellies would have failed within the 12 months had they been worn through the summer.
