Well ive always wanted a barbour coat I like the style and wanted a good coat for all weather situations for when I walk my dog .so I decided to make a purchase .the coat was a classic design and it cost me about £280 .. Read all the size recommendations and as I'm a generally a large I went for the XL .. when it arrived in its well presented box it does feel tight around my wrists . Evertime I took it off it turn the sleeves inside out . The body of the coat fit well but the sleeves was too tight ... I did contact Barbour they just replied with a Sharp response saying sleeves are all a standard size ... I decided to keep it and get it adjusted professionally so now it fits better around the sleeves and it don't look like I'm wrestling a mongoose when ever I take it off ... but it doesn't stop there for the coats inner sleeve material is like a rubber material so even just after half an hour of gentle walking in a morning my arms become wet . I might as well wrap my arms in clingfilm just a poor choice of material they use ... To summize if I could roll back the clock I definitely would of scrolled past barbour clothing. An expensive lesson I've learned . I could of brought a better coat from another manufacturer for a fraction of the price . So over rated its unreal . Thanks Steven Robinson
I bought a pair of Barbour Farsley Chelsea Boots in December 2020. I used them for doing very little walking, probably just to the local shop and back on occasion. In July 2021 the sole of both boots had fallen off, the adhesive separating from the leather top. These boots show stitching around the soles, but the soles are not stitched, its for show only. So, the conclusion is, they look nice, they are comfortable, but don't try and use them as footwear as they will fall apart. Not fit for purpose and not what I would expect from a Barbour branded product. I have requested a refund from Barbour, but sadly they just pass the buck onto the retailer without accepting the fact that they have made an unfit for use product. I shall go to court under the sale of goods act to resolve the matter if required.
Bought my wife a pair of Bede Barbour Wellingtons at the end of December 2020, and after only a few months both boots have a split around the ankle area and also both of the seams have opened. At £65 a pair this doesn’t seem value for money.
Bought a Barbour coat which lasted a couple of months before the fabrics started to wear away.....sent it back and now the customer service and communication is basically non existent. This will be the last Barbour product I ever buy. You expect better from a so called quality company.
Seems to be a common theme in these reviews- Barbour jackets are just not as durable as they used to be. Bought a Barbour International jacket and in the first year I noticed a small hole develop in the sleeve - I thought this was unusual as I had been so careful, I’d even sent the jacket back to Barbour for re-waxing. Second year a hole appeared in the other sleeve, and like the first it appears to be just from poor quality material. I sent the jacket to Barbour hoping they could repair, but they just returned the jacket saying they only do very basic repairs and as this was a padded jacket there was nothing they could do. I called them and the customer service told me almost all jackets now made overseas and no longer designed for repair….. Like most people in these reviews I will never buy Barbour again.. They are eroding a loyal customer base, and sad to see the demise of a fine British company as they sacrifice quality for short term profit.
I bought a Barbour Beadnell jacket from Country Attire UK. They are registered Barbour retailers. I haven´t used it much due to condensation. Today, I was walking the dog, it was not raining, under the jacket I wore a thin lambswool sweater. When I got home, and took the jacket off, I felt the damp on my body, and it was even drops of water on the lining of the arms and shoulder area. The sweater was so wet, I had to hang it up to dry. Really disappointing, as I love the jacket. I am thinking of sending it to a seamstress to change the lining to the same fabric as the body. It is useless the way it is. I hope Barbour could advise me what to do. Can something be done other than changing the lining. (I live in Norway)
Will never buy another Barbour product again. Spent a lot of money on a jacket only for it to get hole in it very quickly, sent off for a repair - they have just put a massive patch over it in a different colour to the jacket. Looks absolutely ridiculous, terrible, terrible customer service. Will advise everyone to avoid
Absolutely terrible terrible quality My wife brought me a pair of this company’s short Wellington boots thinking they would be of good quality but after not even 8 months of light wear they are completely split on both boots making them un wearable. I would like to attach pictures as I have done on the Barbour Twitter page. I have a cheap pair from Asda I have had for close to 6 years not a issue. So much for a name of quality when Asda’s own out perform a high end brand like Barbour. Don’t waste your money
My wife bought me a pair of barbour slippers for Christmas. £65. I was really pleased with them, very comfortable good fit etc. However, after 4 months of normal wear, they gave come apart at the seams. A £5 pair from asda last longer. Awful.
Yea I ordered online this quilted jacket in xxxl the biggest size and I look like quasimodo in it. Look like an extra in a hunchback of notre dame film or egore in frabkenstein Me shoulders are hunched forward and I'm gonna burst through it like the incredible hulk it's a green jacket too. What a laugh spent a fortune on a royal approved brand and it's crap where they making these things China or Indonesia where blokes are tiny compared to Great British blokes. Get a grip barbour make your stuff in the UK again and get with British blokes sizes. Bigger is better if you're gonna survive as a brand in the UK and oh one crap inside tiny pocket only big enough for a pack of chewing gum let alone a phone or wallet or keys. Get more pockets tailored in n'all
Have now had two pairs of Bede boots in the less than twelve months. The seam split on the first pair and were replaced by the shop in October. The second pair the sole has split but have now lost receipt. It would definitely be money back as they are of such a dreadful quality will be buying another make. Barbour please find better manufacturers as you are losing your fans.
Where to begin! This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The jacket was sent for re-waxing by special delivery and was signed for. However, after 3 weeks of hearing nothing back I contacted Barbour who said they hadn’t received it, even though it was signed for by them! Then I phoned and managed to speak to someone else who said they have it and are working on it. Another 5 weeks passed and then I received an email informing me that they are not going to re-wax it and are sending it back. No reason given. Truly appalling. Don’t bother sending anything to them. By the way, on the website the re-wax is supposed to take about a week to 10 days, not 8 weeks!
Absolutely brilliant service. Was a problem with the zip on partners coat so I emailed barbour and explained. They sent a prepaid bag, so I sent it off then 7 days later recieved the coat back. They had fitted a new zip & re-waxed too for free. The zip was a manufacturer problem so that was fixed free of charge too. I cant believe how fast the service was. Highly reccomend the repair & pre-tax service
Nice looking boots but at a high price, poor quality however. The soles and welt became unglued shortly after I started to use them, unfortunately some time after I bought them from John Lewis as I was keeping them for best. I’ve used a stronger adhesive to repair them but only wear them for when I walk the dog when it’s dry. I shan’t be buying anymore Barbour boots. A great shame as for as long as I can remember Barbour stood for good quality items that lasted. Unfortunately from my experience it appears not to be so now.
Only had my Wilton wellies 6 months and they are leaking.. poor product quality for a pair of wellies which I paid more for due to the brand expecting them to be reliable and hard wearing. My previous Hunter Wellies I had for 5 years and never had any issues with them. Won’t be repurchasing another Barbour pair of shoes again.
I can deal with the very long arm length on the XXL. The Horrow is a great jacket but is badly let down by only one miniscule inside pocket, too small for a modern mobile phone. Why be so mean with the number and size of inside pockets? At least give clear information about the paucity of your inside pockets in the product description! Come on Barbour, wake up to the modern age!!
I recently bought the Barbour runnel jacket and the quality was shockingly poor (material felt really cheap, the zips were plastic). It wasn’t worth the price I paid for it so I returned it. Really disappointing and not what I would expect from the Barbour brand.
I’ve owned Barbour boots for years, but recently the quality of the soles has been less than poor. Previous boots have lasted me 3-4 years, yet I have gone through two pairs in the last 12 months with the same issue of sole coming away from the upper...really disappointing & won’t be buying Barbour again, which is a shame as I love the brand
Rewax and repair. Excellent service. Friendly team.

Jun 21,2021I just bought a pair of Barbour wellies and I am shocked that I returned home with wet socks. Both boots are clearly leaking at the bottom. I never had such problem with my previous wellies from the other well known brand. Barbour are leaking in my only second outing. I am angry and most disappointed.
