Barbour Bought a pair of ladies short ankle boots priced at around £120. They have an exposed seam at the back which rubs on the back of my foot like mad. It's literally the outer leather but it's not covered. You have to wear very thick socks to comfortably walk in these shoes. I thought that the seam would be covered with an inner lining in the shoe. I contacted customer services who seem to think that the design of the shoe is acceptable - well this is fine as I won't be buying from you again. I feel like I wasted a lot of money. I had only tried them on around the house and was hoping to return them but they didn't seem interested so fair enough, I know where to take my money next time

Was not happy with initial repair, email the customer services correspondent who upon seeing images of the repair requested the jacket back at the factory. At the factory the team gave a replacement sleeve free of charge due to the problems. Above and beyond.

Using the Barbour website to order is less than helpful. Not as user-friendly as the Orvis site. I ordered a women's jacket, vest, hood, and scarf for my wife. It's in transit now, but got an email today stating the hood does not fit the jacket I selected. Why oh why didn't they hold the order and notify me BEFORE it shipped? Also, they do not offer an option to order over the phone, where you can ask questions while placing your order. It feels like they are making it difficult to order. Maybe Filson has a more user-friendly site and call in order option?

I have lots of items from Barbour that have served me well. However my less than 1 year old wellies have perished and split. Come on Barbour you can do better than this.

And to use a good polish on them even though boots had been protected before use. Expensive boots to be getting watermarks so thanks for nothing got a pair boots that can’t be worn as got ugly water mark on !! Won’t be buying again

I have just purchased a Barbour Bristol. First outing it rained and all the waxed ran off. Second outing was cold and dry but arms were wet through as it doesn’t breath, this appears to be a common complaint. How can you get it so wrong.

I have had my Barbour Border jacket now for over 20 years and apart from the odd wax, done by myself, it is still going strong. But recently I purchased an international waxed jacket and the quality is not up to the standards you expect from Barbour! The jacket outer starts to go mildew when left (dry) for a long period (its with my border and westmorland and I've had a problem with those) also the diamond stitching on the quilted lining has started to come undone! I found out that the international Jackets (as well as a lot of other pieces they make) are now made abroad...I now know why the quality is left wanting. The Trad thornproofs like the border, Beaufort and Bedale are still made in the UK and are still made to British quality standards. Just goes to show that when a company cuts costs by having products made abroad the standard of manufacture goes with it. Come on Barbour bring the work back to Britain were it belongs, and stop thinking about big profit margins, you know it makes sense?

It's refreshing when you have to phone an organisation, that the call is answered by a switched on individual who was friendly and helpful.

Absolutely great products! I own two shirts and two jackets, one of which waxed, and the quality is top notch as expected. I am a size 8 and both shirt fit perfectly and true to size. For the jackets I always order a size up for layering when it get cold. The waxed jacket has seen me through a hike under heavy rain and other one, the Mayapple Overshirt, is just so warm and cosy I never wanna take it off. Love this brand, 10/10! Will definitely buy a lot more :)

Ordered a coat online, delivered within 2 days. Wasn't quite happy with the fit, though the quality was great. I decided to send it back for a return - sent on the Monday, money refunded on the Wednesday. Cannot fault the returns policy and speed in which the money was refunded. Great service, thank you.

I have come to the conclusion Barbour is a vastly over-rated brand. Clever marketing but short on quality. I own a number of Barbour items, some of which are very good but their shirts are generally less good and I have had one from the Sam Heughan range that is like putting on a shirt made of tissue paper. Twice it has ripped with very little force. This is a shirt that has had very little wear and one I had to get replaced because it split with ease - the same identical flaw. Clearly the cotton it is made from is either a bad batch or is the cheapest of cheap. No other shirt I own has ever had this problem. I could have bought 3 for the price of this 1. Of the two other Barbour shirts I own, one is decent, the other is OK. It certainly does not justify the price tag. My wax jacket is ten years old and was ripped in several places (from wearing a rucksack). Again I have much more durable kit for a lot less. Sorry Barbour. I like the idea and the look but for the prices you charge the quality is very bad.

I purchased a pair of barbour wellies, which were worn for 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour in the evening to walk the dog and they split within a year of purchase. The retailer replaced them with another pair which have now gone on the soul. When I buy wellington boots, I expect them to last for at least two years; especially as they only get used for the wet season, and to have had two pairs within two years they are not good value for money.

I’m very impressed with the repairs to my old jacket which I’ve worn for years. The workmanship is excellent and the patches are almost invisible. Also the whole process, from initially seeking a quote to the delivery of the repaired jacket by DPD, went smoothly with no problems. Well done Barbour!

I had issues with footwear and tried to return them to where I purchased them from with no luck. I then contacted customer services I was dealt with by Natalie, she provided 100% customer care, she kept me up to date and resolved the matter in a very short time. I will continue to buy from barbour as there product quality is great, and if you do have an issue speak to customer services you will be dealt with as you would expect from a quality company.

Always an excellent experience. The friendly, knowledgeable staff are always willing to help with sizing. Always well merchandised and laid out like a store of its size should be.

Visited the Gloucester Barbour store today looking for a quilted lightweight jacket and received excellent Customer Service from the Assistant Jessica. Nothing was too much trouble and I left after purchasing a beautiful grey coat feeling that I had truly had a very enjoyable experience. In these days of stressful shopping, such service is rare and very welcome
