Oct 01,2023I am very pleased that I signed up for this driver training day as I wish to enter a season of racing. Paul and his colleagues helped us through a day of driver techniques to enable us to drive both on the road and on track with confidence. The technical information explained why we should use these techniques and how our vehicles will react in such a way. I have been to many track days and test drives with car manufacturers over the years and no one has ever explained the technical side of why we should drive in such a way. I have gained more experience in one day than in the last thirty years. Big thanks to Paul for helping me move on to a lifelong dream in racing.

Sep 20,2023Excellent training day with Paul who patiently explained and then gave me techniques to understand and correct understeer and oversteer in both 4WD and RWD vehicles. Left foot braking to scrub off unwanted understeer? Had no idea previous and I was encouraged to push and use the technique. Amazing! Being one-to-one the day had a structure yet there was total flexibility in how we approached that structure. This tells one that CAT really know and apply their skills in the real world. CAT is not the cheapest provider but the quality and the fact you are training at Millbrook Proving Ground and you spend most of your time practising in the vehicle, not staring at a classroom whiteboard means you absolutely get what you pay for. Only downside is I'll have to save for a while to return. In a nutshell: extreme high quality training from a friendly and positive team, at a unique facility.

Sep 17,2023Fantastic day. Very well organised. You get out what you put in!! The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and experienced to teach at all levels. There was no pressure to drive outside of your comfort zone. I enjoyed every second. Thoroughly recommended.

Not only about the tuition to improve my driving but also the background knowledge that is so important to make you understand the principles better. My expectations were totally exceeded. This is a brilliant day out, I learnt so much about driving my 911 and it was great to put it into practice at Milbrook. Thanks so much to Colin, Steve, Jo and Lynne for all their support before, during and after the day.

Sep 11,2023This was an absolutely outstanding experience, and I feel very fortunate to get the day as a gift for my birthday. The day got off to a great start - Steve (my instructor) was approachable and friendly, but most importantly was really knowledgeable about my specific car. We had a great chat about its strengths and what it could do. Once we got out and about - well, what a place, with a real variety of different areas to try and test new skills on. Everything was really well explained and demonstrated by Steve, and he was constantly reassuring about what he felt I could do. He really encouraged me to push myself further, but always with the caveat to stop if I started to feel uncomfortable. With this approach, I was able to experience driving in a way I never had before and understand both what the car could do, and what I could do. The skills I learnt I now use every day, and has most definitely made me a much better driver. I can't recommend CAT Training enough - great location, real enthusiasts and huge knowledge makes it far and away the best training I've had in a car. Looking forward to when I can book on for my next day!

Sep 08,2023I returned to CAT for my second time in recent months. It is difficult to describe just how beneficial this training really is, it should be a must do for every driver, of every ability. I feel that Colin has improved all aspects of my driving, I am more confident, controlled and safer than ever before (Bit quicker now too, I think!). I am very much looking forward to the next one. Sep 08,2023I attended the Cat 3 Road course and received instruction from Paul and Steve. Both instructors were extremely skilled and had an easy manner which allowed them to both explain complex technical concepts and then coach them effectively. The basic content of the course was tailored exactly to my specific aims and goals and overall completely exceeded my expectations in every respect. I learnt an incredible amount about car control and handling and came away armed with a toolkit of skills to continue development myself in my own time. I genuinely cannot recommend the CAT team highly enough; as well as achieving exactly what I wanted from a technical perspective in a comfortable and friendly environment, it was also a heck of a lot of fun. It also really added to the experience that I was able to use my own car and explore its limits in a controlled environment (e.g. turning off all traction and stability controls, having beforehand experienced and recognised their intervention when turned on in whole or in part, learning about lift-off and power oversteer and experiencing the same at a wide range of speeds, high-speed runs at 130mph including lane changes, trail braking etc. etc.) - if you are wavering about using the CAT cars vs. your own I would recommend the latter because of the confidence it will impart when using the same on the road/track in future and the instructors are very good at ensuring you don't have any mishaps ! Might be sensible to budget for a new set of rear tyres though... ;-)

Very pleasant team and the instructors Steve and Paul were clearly highly knowledgeable and proficient with the right balance of making the day technically challenging yet a pleasure to take part.

Training was tailored to driver needs and provided an improved understanding of the car's response and performance and how the driver can make the most of this in all circumstances. Any driver would benefit from this training but performance car drivers in particular

Sep 04,2023A very professionally run and organised day of tuition with a perfect mix of technical explanation and practical exercises. The instructors were friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. I came away with a much better understanding of how my car handles at the limit and how to safely extract more performance from it. I could not recommend CAT Driver Training highly enough.
