Ordered the Kilburn knobs for our wardrobe and they are lovely. Unfortunately one had been damaged in the post. The customer service from Dan was excellent. Fast responses and replacement received within 2 working days. Would definitely purchase from Corston again.
Received unsolicited email "Introducing New Push Plates & Pull Handles" I have sent 3 emails stating - 'Under GDPR regulations, please advise which 'public database' shows our contact email.' No response - I have no connection or interest whatsoever in Push Plates & Pull Handles!
For a company who sell high end switches and sockets, they have NOT got it right! Have had to go back and forth with them a few times - my issue is still not resolved. Whilst Clare has tried to help, ultimately the company has failed, despite me asking them repeatedly to prioritise my order as Ive got an electrician waiting and several other works going on at home! - I ordered my switches and one arrived damaged/bent and also without backboxes - I enquired about this, to which Clare took 2/3 days to provide an answer for me - there was no urgency - she provided a replacement which arrived the next week - I then placed another order, an extremely large one, and asked for them to ring me on Friday to complete this (as they were providing free delivery), however I did not get a phonecall and they did not answer when I rang them as their colleague left the office early on Friday afternoon - I then had to ring them again to place the order after the bank holiday, which led to further delays - because we did the order on the phone when I got the invoice I noted 2 items were wrong - I sent Clare 2 emails asking for this to be corrected before it was sent. She assured me it will. - Order arrives today and the order is wrong even though I emailed her - PLUS the correct items are faulty (toggles on switches are all different shades of brass, not correct coated) - I now have to return these and wait another week for the correct/undamaged items! 2 + weeks overall for Corston to get things right?! Overall a terrible experience - if they get the items right the items are beautiful but for the hassle they have given me, I am not happy and would NOT recommend them. I do not need this stress whilst renovating an entire house!

Sep 06,2022I purchased c£5k of antique brass plates for the first phase of a full-refurbishment house project. Corston were chosen as the supplier for all sockets and switches. Once installed and within the space of several weeks, about half of the faceplates began tarnishing to extreme levels (this is caused in part by the rear of the plates having no protective coating applied, allowing reaction with the wall materials, in this case, lime plaster). Initially after contacting Corston, they said to apply Brasso (at my cost, which I did, but which ruins the antique coating). A second product was the recommended (at my cost, which also did not solve the problem). Finally, the defective faceplates were sent back to be replaced. After nearly 3 weeks (and several chasers) I was told that it must be damp in my walls (I have now had a surveyor out to confirm and there is absolutely NO evidence of damp). Despite the warranty clearly stating it covers defects, Corston point blankly stated "the best we can do is you pay half the new cost for us to refurbish them". For a company that presents themselves as a premium product, this is clearly unacceptable. Although these are designed as a “living product” it does not remotely explain or exclude this occurrence. I have begrudgingly paid this amount to ensure the return (and not leave me with exposed sockets). They were returned in as new condition, but one of the plates was missed out. This has now been sent separately. In addition, some of the toggle switches, despite being used only a handful of times, are already suffering from faulty actions. We will no longer use them to supplier the remainder of the house refurbishment, which given the quantum, seems very short-sighted given this could have been quite easily and quickly resolved. I would urge caution – although the product does look great, the after service and communication has been incredibly poor, and I have little confidence in their desire to solve issues which are likely to occur in the future. I would also like to point out that over multiple orders, there were several small niggles (faceplates sent without the required screws etc) and no spares at all provided even for a very large order - all required chasing and led to installation delays by the electricians.
