Aug 31,2023Everything was well organized. All wen to plan. No hanging around for buses. Luis, our guide for the 16 days was exceptional. All the other guides were on the ball and knew what they were talking about. All the accomodation was 1st class. Have nothing but praise for the whole trip

Jul 22,2023We have toured around the Paradors every other year since 2011 (COVID excepted). Each itinerary has been booked by Andrea Sosa-Martin in a friendly, efficient and cost effective way. Our changes to itineraries have been accomodated with a pleasant and efficient response. I cannot recommend more highly.

Jul 16,2023Loved the group tour Journey through the Baltic States. It was a great introduction to the 3 Baltic countries, particularly the capital cities. I extended the stay in Tallinn before the group tour started and was glad that I had extra time to enjoy this beautiful city. The tour was well-paced and included interesting places to visit. The local guides were knowledgeable and very informative - particularly the guides that escorted us from Tallinn to Riga and through Latvia and Lithuania. The hotels were very good standard with spacious rooms for single travellers. The final itinerary document could have done with some proof reading. Some descriptions of an individual day were different to the overview description, and two afternoon optional tours were never mentioned or offered by the local guides. There seemed to be a problem in the accuracy of information provided to the local tour company and on to the local tour guides - a lunch that was stated on the itinerary as being included was not included and we had to pay for the meal. The local guide was excellent and got this sorted out so that we ended up with the correct number of included meals. There were comments within the group that Cox and Kings doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be - my experience supports this view. The tour was excellent but some of the supporting information and logistics could have been better.

The paperwork was very informative following my booking and shoul stand me in good stead for my holiday in September 2024

Jun 22,2023This was a well organised and structured trip. It was also helpful that Cox & King organised taxis to and from Gatwick for a reasonable additional fee. The location of the two hotels made for shorter comfortable journey times in relation to visits in the West and East of Crete as well as a good route through the middle to the South and back North with visits to historic and other sites when moving to Heraklion. The archaeological sites and museums were fascinating, helped in no small way by our tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and did an excellent job in linking the myths and legends of the Greek gods to our visits.

Jun 22,2023Our guide was good at getting bus to the right places and having the bus available but his English was not good enough and his presentations were a bit of a ramble. Cox and Kings need to vet their guides more carefully.

Jun 22,2023This was our first group tour and we were very glad we chose to travel with Cox & Kings. The tour was very well organised tour, with a great guide who was very informative. Hotels and transport used on the tour were very good, with free water being available on the bus at all times, which we thought was a nice touch. We also had a couple of lunches at local restaurants included which was nice, and helped us to get to know our fellow travellers better. The use of headsets that our guide could talk through was also useful as we didn't need to cluster around her at sites, we could spread out a little and stop to take photos, without losing her commentary. The tour was well paced - having read the itinerary beforehand we were a little worried that we wouldn't have time to look around the sites visited properly, and that we would be rushed form pillar to post, but actually the itinerary had been put together very well and we had ample time at each place. The one thing we thought was badly handled was the allocation of seats for the flight out. A block of seats had been booked and we had been allocated randomly amongst them so most people were separated from their partners etc. We managed to sort this out amongst our selves to a degree once on the plane, but it caused a bit of disruption and could easily have been avoided by allocating people seats with whoever they had booked with. Interesting that we didn't have the same issue on the flight back. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would definitely book with Cox & Kings again.

Jun 21,2023Puglia tour stressful and exhausting. Full day itinerary (8-6), no downtime, jumping from one place to another to ensure boxes on itinerary are ticked. While it was good to have a base in one location, on some days we spent ~1.5-2 hours one way on the bus in order to reach destination. Tour guide charming and knowledgeable, but far too detailed in explanation with 45 mins non-stop talk on the bus en route to, followed by full blown history lecture at each of the sites. Hotel chosen, especially the first one where we stayed for 5 nights - Casale del Murgese - was 3 star at best, with basic amenities, dirty shower, poor service (restaurant closes to guests if there is a wedding) and remote location, which requires you to seek alternative food options. The hotel did not even offer complimentary shuttle but rather €10pp for return trip to Savelletri, the nearest beach town with restaurants. Travel info pack provided by head office could be more comprehensive - e.g. had to ask how I would convene with other travellers at destination - and tour pricey, particularly given mediocre accommodation. Also inconsistent service offering - early bookers received complimentary return car service to and from airport. This was my first tour with Cox & Kings, and it may well just have been this particular itinerary, but based on my overall experience, I wouldn't rush to choosing them again when planning another holiday in the future.

Jun 10,2023I organised our Jordan travel with Ovidiu David who was helpful and contactable at all times. The itinerary was mine, however he made suggestions which were helpful. Your representative met us before immigration and we were whisked through speedily as he had completed our visa on arrival. Our driver was waiting outside, he was helpful and friendly. Our 12 day trip went smoothly and without a hitch. I would definately use Cox and Kings again

Jun 09,2023We thoroughly enjoyed this Classical Turkey tour and accommodations. But few constructive criticism/suggestions. 1. All hotels are very good. At Istanbul hotel Levini may be in a right place but at a wrong situation. To reach the hotel entrance guests need to walk uphill with luggage. We found it difficult particularly those who are elderly like us above 70 yrs. Best Hotel according to us is at Kusadasi Lavista Boutique Hotel. 2. This Turkey Tour according to tour programme is a Classic tour to see Historical Ancient (Roman, Byzantine Ottoman) empire ruins. However, visit to Gallipoli takes about 4 hours drive to see a modern memorial building. Not exciting and somehow does not fit in this tour. 3. Excellent Guide Selcuk.

Marianela in HQ gave very good advice, tried to understand our needs and planned an excellent itinerary for us. All the local guides were also very helpful, knowledgeable and hospitable. We were well taken care of and had a wonderful experience.

Sep 18,2023Well it was nothing short of fantastic - the boat was excellent - small with 32 cabins. the food was possibly the best I have tasted on a cruise and the staff were so incredibly helpful - I would strongly recommend this cruise
