Tour to Jordan booked on the phone with Shameem Chohan who was very friendly and knowledgeable, answering all my queries about the tour. The usual desert experience camp was fully booked but Shameem quickly found an alternative. All the documents and tour information were received by e-mail within a couple of days. A very good booking experience. Thank you
Very well organised, we didn't have to worry about anything, just to be ready at a certain time. The guides were excellent, very knowledgeable and also because they were local, they could tell us about what it's like to live in Israel as well as about what we where visiting.
Everything was great - particularly the wonderful Dimitri our Tour Guide he was so knowledgable and really kept everyone interested even when it drizzled with rain on our first very long day at Jerash. I think the arrival time of the flight to Jerash is too late for a very early start and long day - felt so shattered for 2 days!
We went with Cox and Kings to Egypt - stayed on one of the Sanctuary boats (the Adventurer). The staff were incredible, so helpful and lovely to be around. The service was excellent, the trips were well organised, ran like clockwork. We saw 14 different sites in 5 days which was really full on but it was the only way to do it. The food was delicious and no one as far as I know in our group was ill with stomach problems. Highly recommend this trip to anyone.
Excellent boat with superb staff . A good itinerary albeit some very early mornings .Hotel in Cairo very good - Hilton in Luxor extremely disappointing restaurant. Main guide very knowledgeable and keen to inform- but less might have been more Superb Museum in Luxor . Tipping an issue except on the boat .
This tour Splendours of South America was well organised and led by different guides in each country. Two guides, Fabien and Leonardo really stood out for their knowledge and kindness in Chile and Rio respectively. The hotels were all well chosen and comfortable, some more luxurious than others and the scenery was especially great in Chile. The flight to Rio was a bit problematic as it stopped at São Paulo and we only had 40 minutes to exit the plane and rush to get the connection, rather stressful and gave us a very late arrival at the Rio hotel, around 1.30am! Despite some inconveniences it was a wonderful trip and gave us a taste of Chile, Argentina and Brazil which we will never forget.
Parts of this trip to Sri Lanka matched the high standards that I have experienced with Cox & Kings in the past. There were, however, some areas that were rather disappointing. Forest Rock Garden Resort was under-staffed, poor facilities and not well organised, the atmosphere was disappointing and not at all enjoyable . The Blackpool in Nuwara Eliya was in a beautiful area but isolated and lacked atmosphere. The Horton Plains trek was not appropriate for the fitness level of some of the group and at times quite dangerous. I would not have travelled if I had known the group was only four people.
Very disappointed with the response to our concerns about a holiday in Peru. Many countries are advising travellers not to go to Peru due to the ongoing and unpredictable violence and disruption. Cox and Kings showed very little interest in our concerns, told us we could not move the holiday to next year as we requested. We were offered a trip in September but we are unable to go then. We were told to wait until 30 days before our holiday when they wiml review the situation. If we did this and were still worried and cancelled we would have lost the entire cost of the holiday. They are very inflexible in terms of customer care. We were also told that if we went to Peru there would be no refund if part of the trip was cancelled due to unrest, they could not tell us how many key elements would have to cancelled before any refund was given. We had hoped that as the situation in Peru is in our view an exceptional change in circumstances they would have not charged the full deposit when we cancelled, Cox and Kings approach is to charge the full deposit whatever the circumstances because they can under the contract. Losing £1500 deposit was our only option as they would not allow a change of destination. A bit of flexibility on their behalf would have kept our goodwill, but there was none. We will not use them again. it is not a luxury holiday if you are facing so much uncertanty.
Very easy to talk to the appropriate adviser. We booked our South Caucasus Tour with Bianca. She was very helpful and efficient in assisting us with our booking.
The holiday was thoroughly enjoyable with excellent accommodation, very good food and the bonus of seeing 2 tigers during our game drives. I would particularly like to recommend the manager and staff at Reni Pani lodge, Satpura where the service was first class. However I cannot be as enthusiastic about customer relations before the holiday where poor communication resulted in unnecessary waits, for instance as to the viability of the tour. The final documents did not arrive, as promised, 14 days before departure and I had to phone to request them a week before departure. We were not updated as to the luggage allowance and although we’d all been told that our accommodation at Satpura would be In luxury tents, there were not enough for all of us which made for difficult decisions within the group. We believe that because of late booking at Kanha we were restricted to one area for our safaris. I was disappointed in the poor service where there seemed to be a lack of organisation and commitment to clients.
We had a wonderful trip to India, Cox and Kings arranged our trip, all worked well with everything as described in the itinerary. The hotels were excellent with a good variety of food, as described. We were escorted throughout by a knowledgeable, friendly and helpful guide. Drinking water was provided in the hotels and on buses. All travel was well arranged, with a variety of modes enabling us to see different aspects of India. It was a very busy schedule but as described in the itinerary, allowing us the opportunity to enjoy many different amazing experiences. I would highly recommend Cox and Kings and hope to book further holidays with them.
The tour guide Prem was excellent and I’ll definitely recommend this trip to friends. India is amazing!
Overall the holiday itself was excellent. The aim of seeing a tiger was achieved as well as viewing a wide variety of wildlife. The accommodation at the 3 National Parks visited was very good and the staff went out of their way to ensure that our experience was a memorable one. However Cox & Kings customer service, inaccurate information and poor communication left a lot to be desired. This requires great improvement to rate 5*s. Would hesitate to travel with the Company again or recommend them to other people at this point in time.
The trip was well organised and most enjoyable. One thing for Cox & Kings not allowing us to have free drinking water and soft drinks for all the days of our visit in hotels was really a downside when all of us had paid well for the trip. It was so unnecessary and smacked of "stingeness" when Cox & Kings has a good reputation. Some of the hotels selected had faults in our rooms. I had an electrically dangerous bed side light in one hotel Other members had no telephone working etc. Overall an excellent vist to Jordan
The activities were very varied. I particularly enjoyed the visit to a spice farm and to the botanical gardens. For the most part, the hotels were of an excellent standard and the variety and quality of food was very good. Generally, the pace of the tour was good. However, the Horton Plains trek was far more strenuous and exhausting than expected. This should not have been included in a general tour but is better suited to a dedicated walking tour. I have drawn this to the attention of Cox & Kings and they are reviewing this.
After very long waits on the telephone with other companies I very much appreciated that my call was answered promptly on every occasion
Everything was first class from start to finish. Tips on visa application process, ground arrival and transfers, hotels, all guides in key destinations were simply magnificent, cannot recommend higher
what should have been wonderful was somewhat spoiled by a poor guide and lack of the leisure time which was promised in the itinerary. The day of arrival was badly organised. We were not given time to settle into the hotel, shower, or get food and drink. By the time we arrived at the restaurant on the day of arrival we had been without food for 13 hours, and in some cases without any sleep for 24 hours. The Heritage Hotels had very uncomfortable beds and in two cases very tired decor in the rooms.
What a great holiday! The locations were amazing and the tour guide Tayron really knew his stuff!! Cox and Kings picked just the right mix of tradition wood cabins in the rainforest to an amazing hotel in Manuel Antonio.

Apr 29,2023A truly amazing trip. Mohammed was an absolutely fantastic guide. But he could have warned us of the likely temperatures the next day..... as on occasion we wore the wrong type of clothing ... !! We covered a huge amount travelling and have a much better understanding of the country. Only real difficulty was in Rabat when we were split into two groups and our hotel/Riad although really it was really beautiful, our room was almost too small.
