Egypt was fabulous! We loved every day of the trip from the start to the end. Very well organised tour packed with historical visits. Your agent Khalid at airport looked after us from the start all the way to obtain visa and also last day of the trip. The tour guides, drivers all amazing! The best part of the trip was 4 day tour on the boat fabulous experience with crew excellent food and service so much fun that we were so sad to leave the boat.... A big thank you to Cox and kings and their staff who worked hard to creat this tour and special thanks to Ovidiu who went extra mile to put us at the date that was already closed for this tour and made sure everything went smoothly for us. I highly recommend this tour so much to see learn and have fun at the same time.
Phone call was answered promptly. I was booking following an e mail from Cox & Kings. Emily Pearn was a pleasant girl to deal with, & was happy to have her direct number if I needed to speak to her again.
Local guides absolutely brilliant, couldn’t do enough for us. Coach very comfortable and on the whole hotels were good. Some of our rooms were quite a distance from reception which wasn’t good for the less able. Getting to and back from the airports was an absolute nightmare, mainly due to train strikes, however I wish i had been given the option to travel from my local airport as this was not mentioned when booking and other people had managed to do this, something to remember. Fabulous experience though
Good experience and I can travel from my local airport with a door to door transfer
The organisation of a very complex travel across the length of Argentina/Chile covering Patagonia was brilliant. Additionally the Tour Manager Sandra was outstanding in ensuring that things worked like clockwork adapting to the needs of the 15 people who were on this trip. The local guides were also well chosen and were passionate about the areas that they covered..... The only one critique and that is no reflection of the Tour, were the extremely inflated prices of Meals at two of the Remote Hotels were local dinning was not possible and at one of the National parks.
Th trip was well organised by Ewa and we understood the limitations of travelling in Cuba so were well prepared. The hotels were fine - very different! Transport and tour was interesting to say the least. Our first guide (Felix) was excellent - very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The guide for Santa Clara was not so good - she even managed to forget to leave her bag in the taxi, so was unable to show us around the Che museum! I had not appreciated how long the driving would be or how bad the roads are (potholes) but that didn't really matter. The drivers were always very friendly and one spoke perfect English. The country feels very safe and we didn't feel too conspicuous as tourists even though we never met a single Bristih person on the whole trip. The food in Cuba is very bland, even in the all inclusive hotel, but friends had flagged this with us. The flights and transfers were easy to negociate - Paris is a very nice airport so clean and tidy.
Showing us the best of the six countries we visited and the overall tour experience. We were fortunate to be with a group of well travelled people who were used to some of the less convenient aspects of such a tour without complaint. A few hiccups regarding the change in itinerary at Panama resulted in less time in Costa Rica. A couple of the internal flights left some of our group on standby. Improved communication from cox and kings would have made the difference between feeling a little unsure of flight details and knowing things had been properly organised.
The best aspect of our recent tour of India was definitely our guide. His organisational abilities and his enthusiasm for making sure everything ran smoothly, even to the extent of intervening to get better service in hotels was outstanding. Never patronising always friendly, kind personable and patient. Packed itinerary was executed in a way which did not feel rushed at all.
I was asked to put in £2000 deposit for a Superior private trip to Peru which I paid and I regret that. As the situation in Peru has come to light, I raised concerns with the agent I have been speaking to. Cox and Kings made no attempt to communicate with me about the issues themselves. In contrast, asked me to pay up the rest of the money towards the holiday despite my raising safety concerns around the trip. Clearly, Cox & Kings must be having financial challenges as they not only charged me a significant deposit compared to what I have paid in the past with Virgin Holidays or British Airways holidays but also encouraged me to pay the rest of the money while there are safety issues at the destination. I think this is appalling behavior and I am not told I have lost all my deposit. I am told I will get a partial refund if I choose another holiday with Cox & Kings. I am not going to book another holiday with the company after this treatment as they clearly care more about the money than their customer's safety. I have instead booked a similar holiday with British Airways as they are a great company when it comes to customer service. First and last experience with Cox & Kings. Really disappointing.
I have been dealing with Shameem Chohan @Cox and Kings and she has been fantastic in her assistance. She is extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and always helpful in advising me on the pro's and con's of various options. Highly recommended.
I have just returned from the most amazing holiday touring Kerala with Cox and Kings. The guide and the driver were wonderful. There were 6 of us in the group and we all got on so well. We had the most amazing experiences, especially seeing a tiger swim in front of the boat we were on; going on an amazing 3 hour safari and seeing a tiger, a leopard, many deer, and elephant, a small herd of bison and finally 2 wild dogs. What an experience! The hotels were all lovely and so different! The views were fantastic and the people were lovely. When I finally left India, the Cox and Kings representative came to my hotel at midnight to go with me with the driver and he came in to the airport to wait with me whilst I checked in my case. I don't know what he said or did, but my return flight was upgraded from Economy to Premium Economy, which was lovely. Well done to Cox and Kings - your team in Kerala are amazing.
Lily, our travel consultant was most helpful with answering all of my questions. She worked rapidly with the agents in India to come back with the answers needed. I am very pleased with the itinerary we put together. We are looking forward to our special tailor made trip, encompassing two tours with some added extras. Thank you
Excellent from start to finish. The person who first made my booking was most helpful as there were a number of special things that I needed like scuba diving over and above the normal holiday The people meeting me in the ground in Ecuador were also very helpful and kind and the experience in the lodges outstanding.
It is hard to find a travel company organizing groups to see Patagonia on both Arginine and Chile sides, Cox & King does. We requested an extension to Marble Caves, a less developed tourist spot not offered by the itinerary, but was what we really wanted to visit. With the help of kind Marianela, a special trip prior to official itinerary was organized. This trip involved return flights, car hire and accommodation which were well organized making our trip to Marble Caves area smooth and enjoyable. The local guides were professional and friendly with all detailed matters. The places selected, especially glaciers and Iguazu falls, to visit were great. I would strongly recommend Cox & King which we used before for another trip to Jordan years ago.
It didn't get off to a great start: my flights had been linked with another couple who were on the same tour: I was unable to check in online - when I called the office I was told it was because I was on a group booking - I book travel for groups at work and everyone is able to check in individually. Also, seems odd as the couple I was linked with had booked in February and I booked in August. Arrival in Santiago was good, hotel in a good location. The second day - the tour of Santiago was brief, then we were taken to the SKY Tower; after going to the viewing deck we had a couple of hours of free time here before we went on to the vineyard: The Tower is above a shopping mall and the time would have been better spent on more time in the city, or taking us back to the hotel so we could organise something for ourselves. The trip to the Atacama Desert was very good, our departure from Santiago was delayed three hours during to tech problems with the plane, so it was a race to get to the Valley of the Moon in time for a walk and sunset, but it was fabulous, stupendous views. The optional tour to El Tatio geysers was fabulous, and returned in time for a couple of hours around the pool before a walk into San Pedro de Atacama which was a cute town. The salt flats and flamingos were great, the vista is unbelievable - Unfortunately the same could not be said for the visit to the Atacamena farm and the lunch. The lunch wasn't great, the staff looked utterly disinterested in us all and were mostly standing around chatting. The animals were in a pretty dire state, very skinny, and overcrowded in very smelly pens - would really suggest finding a different venue! Puerto Montt was a disappointment for me - the weather was atrocious (beyond anyones control!) which meant the activities were somewhat curtailed; we asked to be dropped back in town on the way back to the hotel so we could find somewhere to eat. Despite the guide telling us there were lots of restaurants, it was Sunday and everywhere was closing at 530p, so we had no option but to eat in the hotel, something I'm never keen to do on holiday - would rather be out locally. The bar only served sandwiches until 7p, so we had no option but to use the restaurant, which again didn't open until 7p, and unfortunately the restaurant managed to totally mess up my order - forgot to bring the starter, then left my main on a hot plate so the meat dried out! Puerto Natales was lovely, what we saw of it - it would have been nice to have longer here and have missed Puerto Montt (appreciate this may not have been possible due to the geography of the country and the distances) - we arrived, went for dinner and then left at 0830 the next morning but it looked like a nice place. Torres del Paine was amazing, hotel was fabulous, views were awesome. The boat trip to the glacier was fun. Our guide and driver worked on their afternoon off to show us things we hadn't been able to see the day before due to the Rangers strike. The sheep ranch we visited for lunch was lovely - very authentic experience and their sheep looked very well cared for. Punta Arenas - again, could have done with longer here, than arriving late afternoon and leaving late the next morning. What we saw was great - but would have been good to have had another day or two so could have maybe fitted in a trip on the straits, or out to see the penguins. If it was me putting together the itinerary I'd miss out the Lake District (too much like home!) and spend those days to have longer in Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas. Our guide, Valentina, was very good - very calm, knowledgeable and fun. I loved most of the places we visited - highlight for me was the Atacama Desert!
Ewa, the travel lady, was very informative and helpful, who could answer all my questions. I didn't feel at all rushed and I now trust that the holiday works out well, as this is my first time with Cox & King, but I am sure I won't be disappointed.
The Sri Lanka tour was subcontracted to another company and was excellent, but h Cox & Kings representative was extremely poor. He repeatedly denied the availability of business class seats, which others on our tour had, made no recommendations, put us in a dreadful hotel on Male with damp and a disgusting toilet and put us on an early morning flight to the Maldives necessitating a 2am start, whilst the restof the group were on a flight 4 hours later which was by no means full
My wife and I decided to have a trip to Argentina in December 2022 and decided to use Cox&Kings UK to organise it. From the very beginning I was impressed by how well organised and informed our advisor, Ewa, was. The trip itself was lovely and the agents on the ground were excellent. The choice of hotels and places to visit was great and everything flowed extremely smoothly. It was a great trip and I highly reccomend Cox&Kings which we will probably use again for our next trip. Well done :)
The holiday was well organised and managed, and no significant hiccups. My one dissatisfaction was that a few of the hotels were out of the area that we were visiting. For example in Charleston and Nashville. This meant that we couldn't just walk to a local restaurant, we had to find one that was out of town or get a taxi. In Nashville part of the group waited over 45 minutes for a taxi to arrive. Also a lot of the breakfasts provided in the hotels were not up to the standard< I would expect.

Feb 21,2023The guide, Allan, that we had in Costa Rica was exceptional. Best guide I’ve ever had. His knowledge was incredible. He was extremely helpful and looked after everyone superbly. The driver, Raoul, was also fabulous. The minibus was spotless every day. Some of the hotels and lodges we stayed in were very disappointing and I feel there were probably better comparable options available.
