We visited some interesting places but our driver/tour guide was a great driver and a nice guy but was poor in giving us information and looking after us.
Great itinerary, amazing tour guides, excellent choice of hotels, value for money. Pre holiday communications, etc a little disappointing, needed to be chased on occasions but appreciate that last few years difficult for the travel industry
Vasu was excellent organising our recent trip to India. All Cox and Kings local staff, driver and assistant and all guides were exceptional and went way beyond our expectations.
Quickly established a good rapport with tour organiser Vasu Bhardwaj - knowledgeable, flexible, quick to respond and discuss different ideas. Once under way in Gujarat, our guide was happy to make small diversions to show us extra sights which added to the experience. Stayed in a good mix of heritage, rural and modern hotels. Some long drives, but we had a very good driver.
Grand Tour of S. America - November 2022 I have rated this tour as 3* due to a couple of specific aspects of this tour which I have detailed constructively & privately to your Customer Relations Team. My main concern was lack of safety equipment (not even life jackets) on a boat used & use of a specific hotel with dodgy wiring & leaving passports unattended at reception. I would appreciate a response in order to improve these aspects of the tour.
I did Panama & Costa Rica tour which was my first with Cox & Kings. They were well organised, they catered really well with solo travellers and with my difficult dietary requirements. I loved the itinerary too. I will definitely book with them again.
Our second tour with Cox and Kings. Great tour of S America. Minor glitches but overall well organised. I would recommend.
This is the second time that we booked an holiday with Cox & Kings. Excellent customer service. A huge thank you to Ovidiu who went extra mile to book an holiday for us when the booking was already closed for the date we wanted. He promptly arranged everything that we requested. Also he was very kind, friendly and super efficient with sense of humour. Thank you all.
I booked the Grand Tour of South America 12 months prior to going, the booking process was initially very smooth and Josh the agent was very accommodating with regards to arranging my own flights etc. He left the company and then communication became a bit slow. Had a couple of issues on the trip which were all resolved to my satisfaction locally. I would definitely recommend the trip and would book with them again.
Our tour to Jordon was booked through Cox and Kings. The tour itinerary was well-planned, and the guide Mr SaberAltwal was very knowledgeable and took good care of the group. But there were several disappointments in the bookings made by Cox and Kings. 1. We had booked two rooms, one double and one single (the single for our daughter with extra supplement). At every hotel when we arrived the reservation was mixed up with our daughter in the double room and one of us booked in the single room. Despite our requests, the two rooms allocated were far apart sometimes on different floors or different wings of the hotel. Local representatives at each stop were not helpful in sorting out the reservation and after a tiring day, we had to hang around at the hotel reception for hours for reallocation of the rooms. 2. The flight booking Arrival time in Amman was far too late in the night reaching the hotel by midnight and we had only a few hours of sleep before setting off on the scheduled visit on Day 1. 3. The Airfare paid by Cox and King’s for our flights was for a class that does not earn Avios or Tier Points with One World Partners. The flights were booked in a deeply discounted Economy class. This is regrettable 4. Most in the group were disappointed that the hotel booking at the final stop for two nights was not half board but just bed and breakfast Our experience on this Jordan tour indicated that Cox and Kings were not looking into the details as they should do but were after making huge profits, cutting corners. The high costs of the holiday did not meet our expectations.
Terrific Guides and very interesting itinerary
This was a very well-organised trip with a small group of interesting (!) people. Our guide was superb and everything went very smoothly. We covered an amazing amount of ground from the desert to the glaciers (Splendours of Chile) and were very happy with every aspect of the trip. The drivers were brilliant, everything happened on time and most of all we had a lot of fun.
I had a fantastic trip on the splendours of Jordan tour. We travelled through Amman, Jerash, Madaba, shoback, Petra, Wadi Rum & the Dead Sea. Our tour guide Ahmad was exceptional from the start and is a talented guide with a plethora of knowledge. There were plenty of comfort stops on long journeys and he always made sure the group was safe and happy. He genuinely cared for everyone and wanted us to have a good time. He has exceptional patience and was happy to go above and beyond (even if he was due his time off!) He is a credit in representing Cox & Kings and I don’t think the experience would have been the same with someone else! Our driver (can’t remember his name unfortunately) was a skilled driver and I always felt safe despite some long journeys and at times challenging conditions. He was extremely patient with all stops (there were plenty) and took additional stop requests. All in all I wouldn’t change a thing other than I’d have liked longer at the Dead Sea! Thank you Jordan representatives and Cox & Kings
Excellent tour with first class guide Babur and lecturer Diana Driscoll who is extremely knowledgable about all of Central Asia and made our Silk Road experience very special
Overall, it was a good trip, well run and with only a couple of hiccups which were part and parcel of the country we were travelling in. The party was larger than advertised originally, which slows everything down The 2 hours trip in Wadi Rum was a scant hour, very much following other groups, which was rather disappointing.
Great trip. Lovely hotels and good size group. A few hiccups on BA outward flight ( beyond your control) and transfer from Jordan to Israel could have been a bit smoother but overall loved it and would certainly recommend to friends.
Very helpful staff and speedy response to phone calls and enquiries by email. Flexible holiday arrangements organised efficiently and for a competitive price.
Hotels and lodges were good. Really enjoyed the zip wire experience. Guide was helpful at the beginning but less towards the end. It was very disappointing that he did not have a tripod with telescope like the other guides. He wasn't very good at spotting either. Guide in Tortugeuro was excellent. On the last day, we were taken to the airport far too early and had to wait a couple of hours before check-in opened. It would have been nicer to hang around the hotel. The Airbus A330-200 flight from Madrid to Panama City was dreadful. Seats were cramped for a long flight and cabin crew offhand. One took up the toilet for ages throwing the coffee grouts away. When I used it the seat was covered in coffee.
Whilst the travel documents were a little late arriving everything on the tour worked like clock work even the additional part of the tour we added with transport arriving on time on each occasion. The tour was well balanced in terms of time and certainly the two days allocated for Petra are essential to do it justice, any less would have been rushed. Our guide Hakkim was very knowledgeable and had clearly been guiding for many years and his experience was very beneficial. All the hotels were of an excellent standard and we were pleased to receive an upgrade at the Movenpick Dead Sea but unfortunately on our last night there was a private group of well over a hundred people having a private dinner with entertainment in the amphitheatre to which our upgraded room was very close and the loud noise of the band /disco etc went on until midnight which is not what you want the night before a flight home. Clearly several guests complained but nothing was done to reduce the noise levels by the hotel management. Finally the service from UTA was exceptional at Amman airport on the way home where a UTA rep was able to avoid the hour long wait to check in which was much appreciated.

Dec 29,2022Just before Christmas 2022, I spent a few hours looking at sites for a group holiday in Vietnam. I ended up deciding to go for one advertised by Cox and King. When I phoned up to book, I was told that the information on their site was wrong, that although it said clearly that there was no single supplement, in fact there was, pushing the price up by £750. I called off. Then I decided to swallow that and so called again to book, this time I was told that the advertised extension was maybe not available and they would look into it. Weeks later, I was told that it is available, but at a vastly higher price than advertised. If they can’t manage the relatively simple task of keeping their web site accurate, god only knows what a mess they will make of arranging a group of people travelling around Vietnam. Paul Tracey
