Fantastic products, delivered exactly as stated and with clear instructions for storage, defrosting and use. It is not possible to reliably buy venison locally although I don’t know why as there are deer everywhere! I will certainly be ordering again soon

Apr 24,2023I have since ordered twice from Deer Box, and their service is impeccable. Everything is neatly and well packaged, dispatched quickly and vacuum sealed and labeled to the weight you ordered. Since they are vacuum sealed this means the meat can be stored for way over 3 months at a time in a freezer, but of course it never lasts that long in my freezer :) Currently I have ordered a few cuts of the Buitelaar Longhorn, Cote de boeuf (bone-in ribeye), Tamworth cuts of bacon, and some of the Topside Red deer venison (as of recently). The cote de boeuf is huge and sports an exceptional flavour profile (thanks to it being grass fed/finished which makes it high in a omega-3 fatty acids), a fairly large fat cap tied along side the rest of the meat which is succulent and juicy (once cooked in the oven or smoked, and then reverse seared) and a fair bit of intra-muscular fat throughout the main cut. I was taken aback and amazed when I first took a bite, a very exceptional flavour profile. The bacon was also very nice, very woody smoke to it which I personally found enjoyable. Quite a bit of fat to it also after being fried, it does shrink a a slight bit though. The Venison I have yet to try but will get to very shortly :) My only feedbacks would be, I would love to see more of the ingredients and nutritional information listed out. I personally follow a strict carnivore diet, so having a rough estimate of the protein to fat content and the sugars and carbohydrates listed would be super awesome, it doesn't need to be super accurate either, but just there as a general average guideline. Secondly would be the price. If you've got the money and can afford it then this won't matter to most but for me, trying to find cheap and affordable ways to achieve my way of eating can be tough. By no means is £35 per kilo bad, if anything it is very competitively priced to most places and outlets. But I have found a compromise that is slightly cheaper that I will be trying soon. I will return back to Deer box every now and then though, for when I am feeling like I need something adventurous for my palate
