EzClear manages the transaction between Customs/Broker and the recipient for ecommerce product entering into Canada Delivery Duty Unpaid electronically. Online retailers often ship to a multitude of countries, often it is too challenging to manage the duties and taxes for each county at check out so they ship internationally on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis. This means that a duties & taxes are collected in once the parcel arrives in country. EzClear is a online method of paying duties and taxes for parcels arriving into Canada.
The agency took time to seek me out when I aborted a call. Furthermore, patience was exercised in explaining the processes to me. In addition alternatives were presented as possible solutions. A refreshing experience of an interaction with a Customer Care Representative who is empowered.

I dealt with Maricel only and I had a pleasant experience. She was great from the start. She deserves 5/5. Heck 10/10. She explained exactly what I had to do when the merchant declared higher amounts then I had paid for my items. Ended up saving me a lot of money. I'm rating it 4 out of 5 stars. I found everything great and smooth. I just wish there was a pick up option, instead of them shipping through Canada post. It is extremely slow. If you guys can add that as an option, it's amazing.

I am a Canadian originally from western Europe. Apart from high-end stores my experience of customer engagement in Canada has NOT been pleasant. I can write a thesis on Canada Post and a few others. However, Maricel Mendoza has proved there are some islands of excellence. She is the best customer service representative I have dealt with in Canada. She courteously and efficaciously dealt with my inquires and kept me regularly updated until resolution. Five stars for you, Maricel!
The person that was helping me from Ezclear was Maricel and they were absolutely delightful!! Responded to my emails almost immediately ever single time , and helped me get my package to me when Canada Post stop processing my order and left it in their warehouse (which is 15 mins from my address/destination) for 3 days and 2 days longer than the estimated delivery.
I dealt with Maricela Mendoza on March 26th. I reached out to get several times and each time she responded promptly and with the information I needed. After communicating with her I felt at ease and assured my package was on its way and well cared for. I found Maricel very friendly, professional and informative. I was pleased to have the advantage of dealing with such a knowledgeable and customer oriented individual. Her level of care was unexpected yet very appreciated.

I hope you like "Surprise Mark Up Administration Fee" for a slower delivery system. It's exactly like UPS and FedEx. They will find a way to get money from you. You'll end up paying 50% of the cost of the items, no matter what. Any other company I dealt with use Canada Post. And you pay the exact price for tax and duties. It's always pennies with Canada Post. I went on EZClear Inc.'s website, and it seems like Chain Reaction Cycle's name was mentioned once or twice in their reviews, but a lot of the comments refer to "bike parts". As if they're the only company supplying them their easy lifestyle, or at least, one of the major company using their services. They are, in any other form, offering a middle man service to a completely useless process nobody even asked for, or needed at all. I looked it up, and there's a way for me to pay the taxes directly with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and avoid "Administration Fees", but it's a long and fastidious process that is literally more expensive for me then to pay EZClear Inc. I understand completely the principle of taxes and normal charges for items that I'm more then willing to pay for. But, you understand this company as no other sole purpose then to generate money from people who got caught in the process for no other reason then their ignorance, like me. Is there a way to avoid this company? If no, I'll just won't buy the item. Next time, I'll make sure I'll use either USPS or Canada Post. They never try to exploit people.
