Mar 23,2017The collection was slightly late from the airport, but the guy explained that he had been helping out a driver who had an accident. To say sorry, he offered us the compressive insurance for free. The car was spotless and excellent condition. Can't fault the service and would use them next time we need a vehicle.

Even though our flights were delayed by several hours (for both flying into and out of Iceland), they were there to pick us up from the airport and to send us to the airport. The car worked well throughout the trip. There was a record snowfall before we arrived but the snow tyres held well. The GPS included was also really helpful. At their price, and with all that they provide, extremely great value-for-money. Recommended!!

Dec 02,2016Thanks to Fair Car for a wonderful car rental experience! I reserved via Holiday Auto and had an amazing rate. The customer service person who helped us was so awesome and helpful. I was so tired, nervous, and anxious when we arrived, as I was not expecting such wintery conditions in late November. He was so patient, helpful, and encouraging and pointed us toward the national road conditions and weather site and checked out the multi-day weather forecast for us. Although the office is off-site from the airport, both rides were very efficient and speedy. And when I accidentally dropped my travel wallet, they kindly mailed it to me. Thanks to Fair Car for making our trip to Iceland such a great one! : - )

Dec 01,2016I would recommend hiring from FairCar. We hired an economy car for 6 days at a very reasonable price, collection from the airport was quick and easy and the car was exactly what we expected. After returning the car and flying home I realised that I had left my sunglasses in the car. I got in touch with the guys at FairCar and they kindly posted my sunglasses back to me. Brilliant service, would book with them again.

Nov 16,2016Super easy website, pick-up from the arrivals at the airport and chauffeured straight to the car rental pick-up. Lots of useful extras available such as free GPS and zero waiver damage for very reasonable fee. Unfortunately the car battery was flat after our first use of the car so we called their accident breakdown line. Our call was picked up within 5mins and a mechanic sent directly to us, taking him about 40mins to arrive. The competent mechanic identified the issue and jump started a car so we could get home. The following day a new car battery was installed at 10am and we had no remaining issues arose with the car. We also reached a refund agreement given the disruption to our planned trip. This is a family run company with friendly service and cheaper than international company rentals.

Nov 06,2016The friendly Faircar guy was waiting for us at arrival and drove us to their office. There our car for the week a VW Caddy diesel already waiting to get rolling. After the paperwork, btw. great service in getting the Zero weaver insurance right at the office, we took off. A small week later we brought the car back and were driven to our hotel. Perfect service, perfect car by Faircar.

Nov 02,2016Easy to book. Contact with a person directly from the company regarding questions we had, was done in a very pleasant and timely manner; we were impressed! Pick up and drop off friendly and easy, so we could enjoy more time exploring the Island. Campervan was well equipt and met all our needs. This is the best way to go if you want a true and very enjoyable Icelandic experience! Can't say enough! We had such a great time, wish we had stayed longer!

Nov 01,2016I rented a car at FairCar Iceland - Car Rental in Iceland for 3 days. The car was an old car and had already many scratches all over. I delivered the car back on the day and time I should. During my rental period I did not have any accidents or something else which would cause any damage to the car. They got the car and the keys but did not provide me any documents although I asked for it. After I got back home and 2 weeks passed, the rental car company FairCar e-mailed me claiming that there were additional scratches on the car caused by me. They even sent some pictures showing the scratches. I replied that I did not cause any scratches or similar things and added that claiming such an issue after 2 weeks is not legal and logical. In spite of my refusal of causing such scratches, they charged my credit card for USD 1.166,87. The scratch on the pictures they sent was so small that it would not cost that much. I asked the company for the new pictures of the car after the repair. However the company resists sending them, which makes me think that probably there are no such scratches and no related repairs. I CANNOT and DO NOT RECOMMEND FairCar Iceland - Car Rental in Iceland to anybody as their attitude toward and treatment of the customers CANNOT BE TRUSTED. I would never use this company for future car rentals. Better stay away from this company to avoid future losses.

Nov 01,2016very helpful & polite staff. My rental was rescheduled (my fault) but they were very helpful & fixed me up with another car ( had to pay the difference). The car itself was not the best but was adequate. I would recommend getting a 4 wheel drive next time.

Nov 01,2016The car was good, pick-up (after we called from the airport) was fast and everybody we dealt with was friendly. When the rate was discussed (booked via internet) we were told we needed paper proof if insurance, otherwise we would have to buy insurance (CDW) from them, or they were going to put a block of $2300.00 on our credit card. We opted for the block, because we had no choice. They seemed to be unaware that it is very common in the States to use a credit card which offers free insurance for car rental. That was too bad. Other than that: they were great!

Unfortunately we were quite delayed in making our way to the front of the airport (bags were not delivered until long after deplaning) and our pickup person had departed. After some calls to the office we were quickly picked up and assigned our car by a very helpful attendant. The car included a GPS which was good since ours didn't work in Iceland and was very necessary because of the difficulty with spelling in Icelandic. The car, while older, preformed admirably and took us comfortably on several long trips and around the city. Our return of the car was smooth. We were carried by separate vehicle from the rental site to the airport quickly and comfortably. The attendant even refused any gratuity for her services, on a cold and rainy day. I would recommend Fair Car any time and use them again myself when I have the choice.

Sep 27,2016Great friendly staff. Car was perfect and in good condition. We tough it was great that they don’t have a office at the airport, but they pick you up and drive you to there office that is a few minutes away, so you don’t have to stand in line at the airport but arrange everything in much more calm environment.

The only aspect we thougt that was strange, was that they didn't want to check the car together when we brought the car back. They check the car after you left. But we turned in the car in a good condition and we didn't hear anything from FairCar, so everything was alright!

Apr 26,2017i rent the car with full coverage insurance on 30/3/2017. the car was quite old with about 200k km mileage. the car skidded on the 1/4/2017 and caused damaged to both front tyres with some scratches. i called the company to send a new car but i have to pay new rent for the new car that will coat me 300++ euros and 900euros for the cost to send the car from the office to me. I have rented car from other well-known rental company, when we involved in accident or the car broke down, they will replace the car 1:1. What Fair Car did to me was ridiculous and unacceptable. today already 26/4/2017 and the case is not resolved yet as i didn't receive any update regarding the cost of repair as they emailed me that cdw maximum excess is limit to 2900 euros only. and they seems dont like to reply an email.
