Nov 05,2018Very sad to have to spend my time talking about the negatve aspects of a local business but my experience leaves me with no other option. I am sure the owners and people working there will 1 for 1 come back with an answer and reason to each of my issues as they have done on all their bad reviews but that's how it goes. My vehicle brokw down and I was recovered and after dropping it off at the garage was told they would be in touch. They called me and said it was the starter motor and while i was at it to get the timing belt and water pump donw, this all come to £1080 (which I have now found out is somewhat an over inflated price compared to what other similar sized garage have quoted). Sadly I had to hand over my hard earned cash to this lot as the work had already been done. I am keen to know if the starter motor really needed changing, maybe it was just jammed or something else, I'll never know?! But hey, they have bills to pay right? I told them to look at a little noise coming from the engine, it was very faint, little knocking, they told me it was a new clutch and fly wheel that I needed, to the sum of £1300! I know a little on cars and this to me seemed overpriced! I had the work done by RCS in Halifax for £600... Using genuine LUK parts... Go figure? What is weird is when I arrived at RCS the noise coming from the flywheel was now extremely loud, I don't know if 5star had tampered with this so I was forced to get the work done by them... I have asked why they were £700 more expensive but they could nto give me an answer other than the fact they have to pay for their letterheads and stationary somehow. As soon as I got the van back from 5star, to take to RCS (to save myself £700), the glow plugs started to flash, this was while i was doing 60mph. A little worried I had to pull over and call a friend. He advised I should call 5 star asap. They said there's absolutey no way that they could have made an error as their work is top notch and the toold they use would not allow them to make mistakes. When I tried to start my van again I couldn't! To get to the punch line, I now had a cam / crank corelation which I only found out by taking it to a VW specialist a few days later (to my own expense) after they plugged it in. Turns out the timing belt had been put on wrong and was out of time, so I could only start my van when it was cold, not warm. I went straight to 5 star after the VW specialist and asked them to plug their computer in, the owner seen the same fault code and just said we are all human, fair enough but I am no longer trusting you with my van. I asked for a small refund to put towards getting their poor work fixed by a reputable VW specialist and he refused saying they will do it, there was no way I was leavig my van with them now, for the simple reason I did not trust it in their hands. I am suspicious about the timing being done wrong and the flywheel which suddenly was worse after arriving to RCS a few hours afte pickig it up. There is no way it can go from a very light knocking to almost coming off like that. Had the owner just worked with me and refunded just any small part for me to get it fixed I might have given them 2 or 3 stars for showing good will but this total lack of customer commitment has left a very sour taste in my mouth. I gave him the chance to make it up by asking for any sort of refund but it was denied. Sad to say I will not be going back to One Star Autocentre again. I wish you all the luck.

Nov 03,2018Once again the team at Five star auto centre excelled in their brilliance. I had booked my v.w caravele camper van in for a service and MOT. My vehicle had a oil leak form the the transmission they had it repaired as it was a specialist job. Reading the reviews how the are able to cater for DSG gear boxes I knew I was in the right hands. They also have replaced my timing belt and water pump as is was in need of replacement. I can honestly say there are genuine people and their prices are very competitive. Can not fault their services my vehicle drives like new. I will see you next year for my service and MOT thank you

Oct 25,2018Refreshing experience I have used Five star Auto centre for the last couple of years for my MOT. My vehicle was due a service and MOT this year round. I was offered a complementary courtesy car as my vehicle was in for routine maintenance. I must say they have not yet failed to offer me a 5 star service. I can not recommend them enough as do truly go the extra mile. Keep you informed through out he process, whilst you car is in for repair. Prices are very competitive. The wash and vac is just a added bonus. Thank you for your services. 💫

Oct 24,2018Broke down was recovered in by RAC patrol officer. Top level of service was fixed the following day. Can not fault their services would not hesitate to recommend this garrage to family and friends. Thank you for getting my car sorted and back on the road.

Oct 19,2018Called in twice now and been really impressed with the service. As a female first time car owner I was a little aprehensive about choosing a garage to go to, the ratings for this place really stood put. Called at 3.30 today to have my battery replaced I was seen and home all on about an hour and a half. Previously five star took my car and throughly looked over it with no charge taken even though we couldn't figure it out at that time. Very friendly and welcomomg staff, will definitely be back.

Oct 19,2018I needed an MOT and service for my Fiesta and this company was recommended to me. The quality of the services provided was a very easy and pleasant experience, and will certainly be using 5 star autocentre again (the car wash and valet was an unexpected but welcome touch!)

Oct 19,2018Booked my wife’s car in for a reapair. I was recovered in by RAC as there were an approved garrage. They had me back on road same day. Can not fault the service. I would definitely be coming back for a MOT next month.

Oct 10,2018The staff at Five Star Autocentre are just lovely to deal with polite and very informative especially when it comes to car safety. My car went in for MOT this week and due to the new MOT legislation failed on both Dangerous and Major items. Five Star was able to provide a reasonable price and had the work done in speedy time, they also provided me a courtesy car while the work was being done. The payment assist feature is a godsend when your car is a requirement but yet can't afford to pay it all off in one go. I can't fault Five Star for the work carried out on the car, it brakes better it drives in a straight line better, in a nutshell, its a job well done.

Sep 20,2018Absolutely fantastic and a breath of fresh air. I was extremely nervous about finding a new garage, this garage is awesome. From Natalie on reception to the guys working in the garage. And then there is the manager, he gave me a lift home and picked me up again when my car was ready. I was blown away. They now have me for the foreseeable future.

Jul 18,2018Took my car here for its MOT after seeing recommendations online and I am not disappointed. Unfortunately for me it failed and had a £300 Bill but the work carried out was superb. Even had the decency to valet and wash my car which I was not expecting. Very accommodating when waiting for a lift home after leaving my car there, staff very friendly and highly professional. They couldn't do enough for you. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.

Jul 17,2018I had my car booked in for a full service, and new timing belt. On day of collection I turned up and the kind young lady politely said my car was not ready due to a missing bolt which was due in the morning but never turned up until after 4pm. I was abit let dwn that nobody informed me of this, I was asked to come back after 4 which I did. The kind lady did thn offer me a lift home for the trouble which I thought was a nice touch 😊. On returning to collect my car all the wrk had been done and was even cleaned inside which again was a nice touch. All the staff r very polite and even tho there was tht little lack of communication earlier I wil still go back, look forward to returning just hope it's not as big a bill next time lol

Jun 14,2018Took my car for mot failed due to a rubber missing on brake pedal advisory said also brake balance needed looking at even though the car has covered less than 1000miles since a silver service supposedly performed by five star. Bought rubber for pedal went back day after was told needed to book a re test by a very very rude guy would never go or reccomend again perhaps they were hungry

May 23,2018Took my car here for its MOT. Never used these guys before and was a bit anxious but found them online and read their great reviews on Trustpilot website. I’m glad I chose this garage now as the whole process from start to finish was excellent with no hiccups. Car passed with only the one tyre to replace but was easily sorted out in a few hours. To top of off my car was washed and vaced which I wasn’t expecting. Will be coming back soon again
