As a buyer, my experience of this company has been appallingly bad. Contact to secure the sale and for them, more importantly, their fee is great. The property deposit and their commission is payable immediately your bid is accepted on the day of the auction and once the funds clear don't expect to receive any response from them to questions or requests for information such as a home report, that wasn't available to download pre-purchase. Despite numerous calls and emails no one in this organisation has had the courtesy to get back to me. Rather short sighted of them to be honest as this has totally put me off buying or selling with them in the future.

During 2021 I have attempted to purchase from this auction site. The first property was a tenanted upper house, which our lawyer advised us not to proceed with as the contract with the auction house might not include tying in a new tenancy agreement with the sitting tenant. We found another property, an executor sale, ironically in a place I lived as a child. The property was a one bedroom ground floor flat with a starting bid of £8,000. FPA provided information on houses which had sold locally but most of these were 2 bedroom not one bedroom and they failed to list the most recent sale and most direct comparison. This was number 74 which sold in March 2021 for £30,000, the same value placed on this property. The Home Report gave a value of £30,000 but commented that there was damp work to be done and made an allowance of £3,000 for this i.e a valuation of £30,000 if the damp work cost £3,000 and was done. The Home Report by DM Hall dated 2nd July 2021 was very poor. It had major errors in it, i.e. stating that the house had gas central heating when it did not. There was a Category 3 rating on dampness rot and infestation and 13 category 2 ratings. The property required a new kitchen, bathroom, potentially rewiring, plus decorating throughout. There was also a major crack in the roughcast on the kitchen external wall and some of the glazing was single pane only. The property essentially required to be gutted, yet they valued it at exactly the same price as one which was in the same block and had a modern kitchen and bathroom and was fully modernised and in walk in condition. How could this be accurate? We registered for the auction and despite doing so in good time and constantly chasing FPA on the day we were unable to bid as our application was still pending. The Legal Pack was also very late in being available, we applied for it using their on line system and it was sent overnight being received on the morning of the auction. We also contacted them direct requesting the legal pack and were sent a copy of it late on the afternoon the day before the auction. We did go and view the property from the outside as no viewings were allowed by FPA. There was extensive damp staining on the front of the house, caused by the downpipe, the front door was in poor condition, the roughcast at the back was very poor and all in all it was even worse than the Home Report suggested. The Home Report commented that that were evidence of previous damp work being carried out and that any warranties should be provided with the Title Deeds. We contacted the vendors to ask if there were any damp warranties on the property as the Home Report advised checking this out. A damp report was commissioned on 14th July and advised that the total cost of repairs were £11,500 plus vat, not the maximum of £3,000 estimated by the surveyor. The Home Report was not amended to reflect this though there was time to do so. The Legal Pack when it was finally issued did NOT include the damp report. This was reported to both FPA and the lawyers handling the sale before the auction took place. Neither FPA or the lawyers ensured that this report was available before the auction began. The fees charged by FPA were £4,000 plus vat a total of £4,800 on a property valued at £30,000 (assuming a damp repair not exceeding £3K) with a starting bid of £8,000. This appears excessive. Bidding starting on the property on 30th July and was brisk, with it finally being knocked down at £32,000 with fees of £4,800 and damp repairs of £13,800, a gas connection charge of £806 plus the rest of the remedial work. It is hard to believe that the property would have sold for this had the information on the damp repairs been known by potential bidders. The information provided by FPA was incomplete, inaccurate, and at best misleading i.e. comparing previous sales mainly with 2 bedroom properties not one bedroom properties. We can only assume that the buyer was seduced by the prospect of it being worth £63.000 which was one of the comparisons quoted for a 2 bedroom property sold at the height of the market in 2008. A 10% deposit and fees are paid at the completion of the auction and are not refundable as far as we are aware under any circumstance. It will be interesting to see if this property is re-listed in future. While it is true that it is the duty of the buyer to beware and check, but this particular sale was full of misleading or downright incorrect information and the property should have been withdrawn from sale and a more accurate Home Report and Legal Pack provide. We did all we could to ensure that the correct information was provided but neither FPA, DM Hall or the lawyers took appropriate or timely action.

Not an ethical company. Will say they have no home report when they do but try not to release them as they are so bad. It's illegal to sell a home without one. As a seller they are ok as sellers get properties off loaded. Buyers beware!!!!!

The buyer paid a non-refundable deposit to the Future Property Auctions for my flat. The buyer did not proceed. My contract with the Future Property Auctions specifically says that the deposit is non-refundable and once paid it secures the property. At the time I had a private cash buyer who I had to turn down, thinking my flat is already sold. However 8 months later FPA are refusing to pay the deposit to me. I sold the flat for a lot less than the asking price because I was counting on getting this deposit as I was entitled to. They are also not responding to my solicitor’s emails and letters. Totally unacceptable. Future Property Auctions are running a scam.

Mixed experience with these guys. I bought from them before and it was a pleasure to do business with them. Conversely I have also been treated rudely and had the phone slammed down on me for asking some basic questions. They often don’t turn up at viewings that they have organised and don’t send information that has been promised. I get the feeling that it depends whom you deal with. The reviews describing them as cowboys is somewhat accurate but that’s the beauty of buying with them. You never know exactly what you are buying. Luckily it worked out for me.

Funds were cleared and confirmed complete by my solicitor but due to this companies incompetence I was kept waiting for my keys until the following day. Whole process was a nightmare and I only kept pursuing it as they already had my deposit otherwise would have bailed out. Notice it took them two years to reply and with a completely irrelevant answer. Enough said!

Don’t use this business. We were deliberately manipulated so they could get a quick commission from someone else. Offer made, offer accepted, they then called other bidders and took their deposit before we could send deposit funds. The business doesn’t serve the best interests of their customer. The property we had our offer accepted on was sold to another person so a commission could be quickly charged. The same property has been on and off the market so they must have charged multiple £2500 commissions on the same property. Unusual process, best use a normal agent who will be more professional. This relates to a property on Middle St in Berwick Upon Tweed.

Beware. Another auction this week.selling a new lot. Description of substantial plots. In reality a couple of play parks that the current owner has not maintained. Been locked up for nearly 3 years. The plots cannot be built on. They have to be playparks. Council planning enforcement issued non compliance notice before lockdown. Add these to the other local lots of 2 flower beds...

I was interested in buying 3 houses from this mob. When I showed interest, they sent the links out to submit offers individually and had upped the price by almost £5ok per property. They are rude, arrogant, dishonest and aggressive. Want you to pass your card details when you make an offer. AVOID!!

Would give it a minus star if I could. This outfit is the equivalent of a bucket shop. Liars, properties misdescribed, staff I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw them. AVOID at all cost. They will probably be closed down soon enough and hopefully those knowingly conning decent folk out of their hard earned will do a spell in the chokey. Puts the property profession into disrepute and like others have written, it seems they got a gang of pally pals who just buy and flip to the unsuspecting. Rinse and repeat. They will have their day soon enough, I guarantee it. Keep well clear of these scoundrels. Where are the regulators? Why no investigation into this company? AVOID AVOID AVOID Buyer beware if ever you heard the saying!!!

SCAM SCAM SCAM... waste time travelling to view for a set auction date. 60-70% of stock is “sold” prior to friends and colleagues. Don’t bother, read the other reviews all developers re flip the property’s back to future property’s so they make double the fee. Vendors don’t let your houses go under valued get a second opinion before selling to these bunch of clowns
