When I signed up as a client for Guardian I was in a desperate state financially... Their third party sales team, Better Debt Solutions, sold me a wonderful fantasy about how easy this would all be. I was told this group "works with all the major banks", and "have a strong repour with the banks, enabling them to quickly resolve your problems". A year and a half into what was originally supposed to be a 4 and a half year program, my credit is shot and financially I am circling the drain. My credit before working with them was just under 700, I was recently able to bring it back up to around 550. I have been sued three times now, by banks wanting their money, and they have only settled one of those cases. They have only managed to make 3 settlements, and only finished paying 1, of the 11 accounts that were entrusted to them. During the last 20 months they have asked me to contribute more funds to the program on several occasions, despite me letting them know that it was impossible, several times before, because i am already financially over taxed. They even recently told me that that they will need to extend my contract... When I checked out the bank account, they force you to use, roughly 60% of my money went to the litigation group, and only about 40% went to actually paying my debt... When I complain their operators have a script all ready, but theyare basically useless and clueless half the time. The people that answer the phone are basically there for PR, to say "I understand your frustration", "we appreciete your point of view", and other BS to get you to calm down despite the fact that their bosses are bending you over... They use to contact me monthly with a courtesy call to keep me informed on their progress. I haven't had a call like that in over 6 months. In the last year and a half they sat on their thumbs while watching my debt fatten up, so that their 30% would be worth that much more. It figure that the truly unscrupulous criminals are the lawyers in this country, especially the ones in this group. If any "debt resolution" group refers you to this company, hang up the phone.

Just got my first settlement and it was for half of what was owed. Nothing has gone to collections yet. I saw the negative reviews on here and was about to drop out but I think them settling an account I never even made a single payment on for 50% without getting sent to collections is probably worth their commission. I was honestly shocked they could get that great of a deal after the account has only been in default for like 2 months. Optimistic for the rest of them.

I appreciate that they call once a month to keep me up to speed on my accounts and they've been very responsive to all my needs.
I felt pressured at the initial sign up but after that the staff was helpful and patient. So far things have progressed as I was told. I have a hard time answering the monthly check in calls. They seem to come when I am not available.

My account was settled two months after default. Their account rep was able to stop all the others from calling me while they are being settled.

Would be rated at a 5, however I have been just a little tense because negotiations with creditors have been slow in progressing. However on the other hand I appreciate the continued support provided to resolve credit issues.
6 months in to the program, I found out today they haven't even contacted some of my creditors. I verified with at least two of them so far and these are two were the biggest accounts I needed help with and why I decided to go with them in the first place. When I called Guardian, I was told all the unsettled accounts are in the process of negotiation but no one can provide any status of when or if the contact was even made. So far, they have settled two of my cards, one for 70% and the other for 50% of total debt. After their 27% fee, I am not saving much. I don't have faith in this program anymore, it isn't worth ruining your credit score for about 10% savings. I am in a bigger financial mess now than when I started with them since my credit is now ruined. I do not recommend this process and this company to my family and friends.

This Process Still Remains Very Easy! Every phone call is explained thoroughly with every question you may have answered. There are no hidden surprises or fees. I wish I had contacted Guardian a long time ago had I known the ease of everything being handled behind the scenes with you just making your payment.
