I need to post this somewhere to warn others: I have always loved shopping at Homemakers Furniture and have purchased many items there. Last summer I purchase two custom-covered Flexsteel brand chairs, figuring they would be a great investment. Of course, Homemakers clerks were more than happy to write up my order. When the chairs arrived, the brushed suede fabric on both was damaged. One chair had a small hole in the fabric and numerous "bruises," and the other had permanent streaks or scratches. I've had this type of fabric before, and it's very clear what marks can just be brushed out, and which ones are permanent damage. I immediately took photos and sent them to customer service, figuring Homemakers' "excellent" service would extend to this situation. No dice. From the start, there was never an apology, just resistance. They agreed to replace ONE of the chairs but have provided no updates on when it might arrive. Note that when the chair came out of the truck, they were wrapped in a thin plastic that was stapled with giant staples to the actual underside of the chair. It took me half an hour just to remove them. But the thin plastic clearly did not protect the chairs in the truck. I'm very upset with Homemakers and their EXTREMELY disappointing customer service. Buyer beware! I will post this story wherever I can.

The website showed the item would be available by August 21, 2024. I ordered and never received any further notification that the item was being processed or shipped. They charged my card and when August 21 arrived and I never received any shipping notification (other than a charge on my credit card) I contacted the company and cancelled the order. Now it is September 5 and they have not credited my card !!!! I am PISSED... the order was almost $500.00... DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

I really love the service and selection at Homemakers. Any time I can buy anything from someone other than the bald headed billionair Jeff Bezos it's a great day. Even though this store's owner Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway they still follow those original Iowa values from the original owners, the Merschman family.

I had a great shopping experience at the Homemakers website. The selection is fabulous and the webiste is very professionally laid out. I'm also impressed with Homemakers wide range of quality furniture and was surprised that they deliver to my location which is 2.5 hrs away from Urbandale. Thanks everyone...

I shopped in store last night. I think it was Marissa (?) who helped me. She went above and beyond to track me down as I was leaving the store to give me more important information. It made my online purchase much easier
