Jun 04,2021Very poor communication throughout our experience with the agency. We placed an offer on a house that was for sale, initially the agent was fine to borderline pushy trying to get an unconditional offer. Once offer finialised and signed we received an automated email saying "congratulations on your purchase" no phone call to advise the acceptance of the offer. Later that day recieved a "when's the building inspection scheduled" email (no congratulations or the vendor has accepted your offer) The building and pest inspection revealed a number of structural issues and asbestos. Our conveyencer contacted the agency to advise the report was in breach of the contract conditions, we did not hear anything from the agent. Later that day I initiated contact to request a refund of the deposit, to be cc'ed into the agents internal emails to arrange this. Believing once we recieved the funds this was the end of our unpleasant experience. A week after this we received another email congratulating us on our "purchase" and requesting our legal representative details from someone else in the agency. We had to go back to them to advise this was not the case, another unpleasant and unnecessarily stressful experience.

Jun 03,2021Our experience with Jellis Craig, Hawthorn was near perfect. Their staff (specifically David Banks and Simon Lord) were extremely knowledgeable about all the processes, end-to-end. They were always clear in their communications and in our opinion honest, to a fault. They set our expectations and had a great knowledge of the myriad regulations. They were friendly, personable, professional and available at all hours. The JC office and Team are well regarded (which was reassuring throughout the campaign). We has a great sale result - sure timing played a part, and we as vendors contributed - but all of the above factors contributed immensely. Recommend highly
