Opened a 3 year fixed deposit account with no issues. First transfer of funds went through straight away and was shown on my JN bank UK account. 2 further deposits made the following day (17 Nov) but neither transaction is shown on my account as of yet (20 Nov). Eventually contacted customer services after holding for 90mins and being told every minute that my estimated wait time was 2 mins!! Customer services said there was a technical issue and all deposits would be shown by 17:00 tomorrow. A standard email to all customers explaining the situation would have been sensible way to inform customers
I opened 1 year fixed rate savings, made deposit but nothing showing in my account. Checked with my bank that sent it and they confirmed it's gone . Sent messages to JN but no reply. Tried calling but after 1 hour and 5 mins gave up even though kept getting the your wait time is 2 mins..what a joke. Get more staff ,answer the phone!! Do you realise how absolutely annoying this is?? My advice go elsewhere and save your sanity.
Hard to get through on the phone - waited over an hour so far and getting repeated messages for the last 50 minutes that the waiting time is 2 minutes, so no clear indication of how long you need to wait. Other banks seem to have got better at customer help by phone. Transfer of funds to new account also not smooth. Not happy so far and worried for the safety of my savings with a bank that can't provide decent customer contact
Just opened my first savings account with JN Bank via their website, process was very simple and straightforward and account was opened immediately.
I opened a 1 year (5.9%) fixed rate savings account and transferred in a couple of deposits, which showed on my balance pretty immediately. On Friday 17 November I made another transfer that did not show in the account. I had also made a subsequent transfer today (20 Nov, before I knew the 17 Nov money was missing – I have never had an issue like this with a transfer so did not expect it this time), today's money reached the account immediately. Confirming with my sending bank that all was in order their side, I then called JN Bank as soon as their phone lines opened at 2pm on 20 November. Finally spoke to someone at 2.30pm. The person I spoke to was initially a bit dismissive but I asked that she looked into it. She took details and then said she couldn’t see it and would send a request to another team to see if they could see the money and that I would get a response within 2 working days. As she could not transfer me to that team, I asked to speak to a supervisor as I was concerned as to where my money had gone. I was put on hold again, then told no manager was available but we could request a call back – turnaround time, another 2 days. 1 hour 10mins after first calling, I gave up. My sending bank have raised an investigation and I will email JN Bank customer service instead in the hope of getting some resolution (hopefully within 2 days!) Overall, this is the first time I’ve used JN Bank – not a comforting first experience. I'm really hoping for a swift resolution. UPDATE 21-11-23: I received a message from JN Bank yesterday evening (so 7 hours response time rather than 2 days, thankfully) telling me that they updated their systems over the weekend and this had led to delays but that they had now processed the funds and that interest would be credited from the date of payment being sent. When I checked my bank I’m pleased to say that the money is now showing in my account. So, after a worrying time all was resolved and hopefully they’ll be no further issues. I've changed my rating to 3 stars - better than my rating yesterday but still not the smooth process it should have been.
yes i agree that the application process was fast and straightforward. Logging in using sms code and password is good. however i sent a couple of messages, automatic acknowledgement was received via email but no response for my queries yet. hopefully soon in order for me to transfer money to my newly opened account.
Opened an 1 year fixed deposit account with 5.90% rate, the process was smooth and quick. I funded the first deposit on the same day and the balance was almost immediately shown on my JN bank UK account. But when I transferred the second deposit to JN bank UK on 17 Nov, such transaction was not reflected on my account. I have double checked that the money has been transferred from my HSBC account. I tried log in to check the account balance on 18 & 19 Nov, but the balance also doesn't shows the money transfer. I emailed to customer services on 17 Nov but no response up to now 20 Nov. Such problem and uncertainty was never experienced in other bank or building society.
Tried to take out a fixed savings with them signed up for it had no email off them and they didn't bother to respond to my emails or a return phone call.. Waste of time
Wow, easy to understand process but secure. Very clear documentation and an immediate application result. Service par excellence!
I was not sure whether or not to invest in this bank for my wife. The high rate was tempting, so I took out an account. However there were no responses to my wifes messages and when we transferred a small 'trial amount' to the new account it did not show up. So quite worried and have now asked to exercise our right to cancel. Still waiting to hear back. This may of course just be due to poor service standards and understaffed, but when it comes to investing money it is all about Trust. Worrying....so have decided to invest elsewhere.in spite of the response from JN BANK they still have NOT responded to any of my messages sent and have NOT refunded my money- just terrible
Very easy to open account for my savings
Use Google Chrome to open an account, Safari may give you the Oops error message on trying to submit the application. No problem with Google Chrome.
Tried to open a 3 year fixed rate account at 5.9% yesterday and had problems with SMS message, didn’t get chance to telephone with my problem so tried today. Interest rate had dropped overnight to 5.5% !!! Spent an hour waiting to get to speak to an operator. Problem dealt with but don’t find JN website as straightforward as other companies such as Atom and Ford bank .
I tried to open my account a couple of days ago. I could not make a deposit as it said pending application which should be sorted by the end of the next working day. I phoned next day and after waiting selected call back option. Have still not been contacted. I sent an email had no response. If this is the level of customer service I can expect I will choose another provider. So cannot recommend.
Interest rates are very competitive and the application form was very easy to complete compared to some other financial institutions. I liked the straight forward approach.
We recently opened a 2yr fixed savings account and promptly transferred the balance we have chosen to add but so far it has taken 4 working days to arrive. We have done this with plenty of other banks and have never experienced this sort of delay.
easy to open this account
Application today fine BUT I made numerous attempts yesterday none of which were accepted. I have also waited over 30minutes for an advisor to answer my call.
Very quick and easy to open

Nov 21,2023Opened a new Savings account online on 18th November which was very straightforward. Tried to find out today (20th) why the funds I had transferred to JN on 18th were not showing in my new account. It took 70 minutes listening to their recorded messages that my call was important to them (!) before a team member told me that they were having "technical difficulties" loading incoming funds. Either they are unexpectedly busy, or there is something very wrong with their administration? Beware!
