Very disappointed. Can’t get through on phone after hours long wait to cancel my late dads phone. Emailed customer service from lively website and they said they aren’t affiliated with the phone and can’t do it either. It is near impossible to cancel the service. I even waited on line for 3 hours and the next day entered my phone number to keep my place in line and get a call back. NOTHING HAPPENED.
Purchased this phone for an emergency phone/backup phone. Lively uses a carrier that is very respected in the industry, and very reliable. We really like the simplicity of the phone, everything works as it should. Very easy to use. Highly recommend this phone.
Companies like this are essentially emergency call centers. Well, call them. Call Customer Service. Now imagine they are responsible for getting help to a loved one. I found them rude and incompetent. The ironic thing was I was trying to set up automatic payment. Imagine how they are to people not trying to give them money. This is not a company I trust to competently get help to my father if he needs it. I don't care about the price. I care about the service. Call them and make your own choice.
I bought the Lively Flip phone to replace a Jitterbug smartphone for my technologically-challenged mother who has dementia. She was never able to learn to navigate the Jitterbug's features. The Lively Flip is incredibly easy to use -- I programmed all her friends into the phone, drew a picture of the keypad, and wrote detailed instructions for her to make phone calls -- and she's actually able to do it! The best thing about the Lively Flip is that if all else fails, my mom can just shut the phone and reopen it to get back to the main menu. I also like that she doesn't accidentally bump the emergency call button on the Lively Flip like she did all the time on the Jitterbug. Sound quality is good, and I locked the volume controls so she can't accidentally turn the volume down/off. I highly recommend the Lively Flip phone for seniors who have dementia.
I purchased this flip phone for my cousin who has never used any computer technology. And her memory is poor so it's difficult to teach her a new device. This phone is very easy to use just for phone calls and she is getting it right away. I set everything up and put in her contacts. It was extremely easy for me to do. She has just started using it.
i bought this for my mother who lives miles from the city so i wasnt sure if she would have service but she does have service. when i called to set this up the associate was very helpful, then when sent a test to see how it was answed i was very impressed,
My husband ,76 y/o, has vision impairment now. He had difficulty seeing the screen on his old flip phone. I saw this on an ad & went to BestBuy to check it out. The phone is perfect for him. He is NOT technologically adept so I was concerned but after 2 wks of “wife training “ he has mastered it & is now texting & searching on Google! That’s a huge step for him. He feels relieved to have the Urgent call button also. He was able to keep his former sprint phn # so that was a plus. The customer service # is available at all times & they are always pleasant & understanding of our older generation learning these phones. Not like the younger pups who can sometimes be condescending to us Silver folks! I usually ask them if they speak to their grandparents like that??!! This phone is user friendly & I am thinking of getting one for myself soon. I like that there is no contract at our Sr ages too. I definitely recommend this phone esp if you are 65+.
I like knowing if I take a fall or some other health issue I just press that little red button and I'm talking to a real, friendly person.I recommend Lively!.Thank You Lively.
Don't use this company. If you're looking for a simple safe phone for a child or loved one Pinwheel and Gabb wireless are %100 better. I got my son the jitterbug and on top of the bill always being $10 more due to "taxes" , they sent me the wrong phone initially then charged me the shipping for the replacement. I had to call twice to get the credit and both times was told the last person hadn't logged the credit. I had to ask 3 times for a new battery because the phone kept losing charge. Then my son was without reliable service for 3 weeks. I called twice to troubleshoot and both times was told it was due to "Verizon's towers being down".( Checked the map and they weren't,but I was not offered a replacement) When I called to cancel their service I was told no they do not pro rate. I'd also have to pay for the current month. When I asked the supervisor to tell me the difference in minute usage from the previous month when the phone was working vs this month she refused to say the difference out loud! Stating "It did not matter,I still used the service". This company is extremely predatory. Marketed toward older people who will be taken for a ride without realizing it. The BBB rating is less than 2 stars with almost 200 complaints in the last month. SERIOUSLY! GO CHECK!!
Tried to set up basic flip phone service for my 89 year old mother via rep, but Rene kept trying to upsell me. After I repeatedly told her I wanted the cheapest service just to try the phone for 30 days, she continued to argue that I needed more expensive plan. Finally hung up and set it up Online. Voicemail is an add on. Not impressed. All the extra features end up making the service expensive. Ring tones not very loud and very limited. Can't answer simply by opening phone. Within 10 days couldn't call the phone because "all circuits are busy." She needed me to reboot the phone, but I live in a different county from my mom, and she is unable to handle tech. Since they couldn't resolve the problem without someone physically rebooting and setting things up, I told Greatcall to cancel the service. Major headaches in 10 days likely means there will be constant technical issues down the road. I need a very simple plan and service that my mother can use. I found Greatcall reps rude and argumentative. Really weren't interest in my needs, just wanted to sell the product. Their promotions led me to believe I could have a simple service for $15/month, but that won't happen. With activation fees, taxes, and other "fees" they are not a good deal at all.
Absolutely terrible! I was all ready to use this for my mom because they have a nice and easy to use smart phone for seniors. I was lied to about the service cost and when I went to set up the phone I found out the service was double of what I was quoted. I spoke to three different agents by the time I cancelled the order set up and waited to receive the shipping label to send back the device. After 24 hours I called again and another agent couldn’t even find my order. After about 15 minutes of waiting for him to find it, he tells me someone dropped the ball but he was able to find the order eventually and will email my shipping label. Still no label!!! Absolutely the worst bumbling fools to deal with! How can this happen?! I can’t imagine how a confused senior can possibly cut through their 💩. I would love to keep the phone but you cannot take this phone to any carrier. The phone is great! The company is a bunch of shady liars! Still no return label!😡 Update I got my label in the mail and they said once they got the phone return, I would be refunded. I returned the phone with a copy of my order/account number inside the package. They got their phone July 8 th and I NEVER got my money back. I will call today and again ask for my money. Terrible business/customer service. If they can’t handle a simple cancellation and return, how can you trust them with your business? Beware seniors! I called Lively/Great Call and gave them my information once again. The customer service agent took my information and escalated my claim and I was in fact FINALLY refunded promptly within 3 days. This does not change how I feel about this company, however in the end with diligence I was refunded my entire purchase price. I do not recommend this company since there was so much confusion in cost and costumer service isn’t alway on the same page although they ARE kind.
this smart phone is easy to use. easy to handle. its a fun phone to have its worth the money it will save your life. i truly love it
Buying this Jitterbug flip phone and service was a big mistake. There is a $10 monthly "regulatory" fee on top of their charges, and I feel I was deliberately mislead. It is a very, very limited phone. The couple of times I used the customer service, both speakers were coughing and sneezing into the phone. The reception range is much more limited than my smart phone. If you can avoid getting this phone and service, do so.
One issue to look out for.....My 87 yr old mother bought the phone and optioned out of the text feature. She does not text or get texts. Since activating the phone she has received unsolicited texts from telemarketers. This is followed by a Great Call Invoice with 10 cents a text. I called to complain and was told there is nothing that can be done. Then they suggested we add the text package so it would limit the dollars billed from unwanted texts. How stupid is that? They then said we could respond to unwanted texts the word STOP. BTW....they get another 10 cents for every stop we send. I was then given the option to cancel their service. Not nice to seniors!
I love my jitterbug phone. It was easy to set up and use. A smart phone for dummies. 💕😘💕😘 It.
Scammers. My mom got one of their phones, didn't work right, took her six months to get a refund. Then she thoughts they were all done, until six months after that they're sending her a bill for eleven bucks and threatening her. Garbage company.
After 3 hrs & 3 different people, my neighbor who is post surgical, can call 911. 3 hrs of being told he will not have a phone for the next 3 days. 1st person said his bill was over due, it is & has been current. 2nd person said there was a cell tower down in our area. Having spoken to the 3rd person, I found out the towers are working just fine. If you care for an older person, please, please don’t use this company because they do not care if the elderly have the ability to call 911.
thought jitterbug phones were for seniors well you have to be an engineer to get this phone hooked up spent over an hour and still cant figure it out iam 75 and for seniors all the hookup crap should be in the phone already iam trying to hook up alexa what the hell we older folks just need a phone to plug in and use it
I've had my second jitterbug smart phone 2 for a little over three weeks. The first phone I received was defective, could not be set-up and was returned. The second phone worked ok for two weeks, but, for the last week, it has only received voice signals occasionally. Today, worked with the third customer service representative for over 100 minutes trying to resolve the issue. She functioned as a go between with tech support. Finally, she relayed a fifteen digit "ticket number" to me that she received from tech support. She didn't know if tech support would contact me, or if I was to call customer service back tomorrow. Tech support didn't tell her and she didn't ask. She would not give me a phone number for tech support. One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. If possible, I'd give great call Zero stars.

Dec 25,2021Worst of the worst! Phones constantly break and customer service is terrible. Keep you on phone for hours with no resolution. Promise replacement phones for defective ones but they never arrive. Worst company I’ve EVER dealt with! Stay away!!!
