When I first got great call it seemed to work I got it for my mother my mother ended up going into a nursing home and no longer needed the device I canceled the device four months ago I turned the device off and stopped charging it and put it in my bottom drawer 4 months ago the device now is about 600 mi to a thousand miles away from my mother and I still keep getting monthly reports telling me all the swell things my mother is doing around town and how she did this and that all a lie the device is turned off as I said I called the company for five times asked them why am I getting false reports on my mother's activities when I am no longer a customer and the device is turned off and the battery in it is dead I checked they told me oh we can't really stop the erroneous reports of your mother's activities so just delete the app from your phone and it won't bother you any longer a company that knows they're sending out false reports knows I am no longer a customer after four phone calls reminding them of that and the best they can do is tell me to delete the app so I won't continue getting false reports God forbid your mother or father or loved one falls and needs this service and it doesn't work and they're only answer is oh we have no control over the app just delete it from your phone not acceptable in life and death situations if the company cannot even control sending out false reports for 4 months after a person stops paying how can they in any way control or be counted on to save the life of a loved one if this device is needed stay away from this device I cannot recommend it and this is a life and death type of a thing stay away

Constantly dropped calls, service goes in and out sitting in the same place; doesn't happen to someone with the same service provider in the same room. Texts go missing. Archaic technology, similar to original Sprint technology in 1996. I would not trust my loved ones life with a phone that is not reliable. One customer service rep lied to me when I wanted to change my minute plan (yes...the charge by blocks) and said I could not get 500 texts for $3 a month with anything less than the 2500 minutes a month plan. The next month, I dropped down to the 1000 phone minutes a month and low and behold, kept the text plan. They have a niche market and marketing plan. There are alternatives out there though...you just gave to look.

One star because you can’t give a ZERO. over-priced plans, terrible service. Do not purchase this phone. It shouldn’t even be an option.

My mother and I have been dealing with everyone from increasing phone bills to quality of devices and very rude and inexperienced customer service. I strongly believe this company preys on the elderly and the more I read the reviews, the more sick I feel. Disgusting

Just beware, the price goes up just a few cents a month. Not enough that you would waste your time to call and complain, but it's consistent. The bill I get for my father's phone started out at $21.72 in June of 2020. Now here we are in November and the bill is now up to $22.73. I will be canceling if this continues. It's not the amount of money, it's the principle.

This is a great flip phone for the price. We currently have the basic package but as grandpa ages, it's nice to know we can upgrade and add more services. He was able to transfer his cell phone number to this phone. He likes that the numbers are big and he can just sit it inside the charging station safely.

I would give them 0 starts if possible. I called to cancel my deceased father's account and they would not back date the cancellation to the date of his death. They would not reimburse me for the weeks between his death and my call to cancel. They expect you to call the day your loved one dies in order to not be charged for phone service a dead person can't use.

I have to share an amazing experience with a customer service representative by the name of Sharon in Nevada. My mom called in due to an increase in her bill almost triple. I recently moved in with my parents due to my mom becoming ill. While ill I noticed my mom learned how to log onto Facebook at almost 80 years of age and reconnect with some old friends. Since I noticed her logging in on her phone daily, I decided to upgrade her router not realizing she used her wifi from the home router. Well she got an enormous bill and didn't understand how. I called customer service, spoke to Sharon who was nothing but amazing. The ending outcome was she assisted with the problem, saved a customer and is gaining another customer when I switch my dad over. Thank you Sharon for displaying nothing but professionalism

I was helping my mom upgrade and spend sometime deciding what products were best for her and needed to ponder a few hours then called back to wait on for a rep for 1 hr and 20 min and then hung up. Today I called back with exactly what my mom wanted and with offers we had been given. I am feeling sorry for the reps as the discounted info that the reps I spoke to yesterday ( I shared names) were not documented so I didn't get them and I had to go over the fact that GREAT CALL add said 50% off but reps said that was only for existing customers. I asked where it indicated that anywhere and was told they couldn't find it. It took me 46 min to order 2 products that I knew what I wanted. I can't imagine what this would have been for my mom ordering these items. Very disappointed in the misleading pricing on the products and activation/shipping and length of time it took for the rep to enter the items and how this would have affected my mom if she had had to deal with this. Time to upgrade the ordering system.

Three different customer service people were so breathtakingly rude they left me speechless, and two of them actually hung up on me! I'm sure they are used to dealing with confused seniors, which I am not--I was helping my mom. We were never able to transfer her old phone # over after being told four different things, and then the brand new phone just completely died after two weeks. One agent told me they could send us a "refurbished phone." I was like, um, we're done here!!! Several of the customer service people were very kind and helpful, but overall, I think this company is crap.

If I could give a lower review I would. DANIELLEin customer service is the rudest person I have ever come across. My 84 yr old hearing impaired mother called to change her plan. Watching my mother struggle to understand and explain what she needed my mother asked DANNIELLE to talk to me. As I put phone to my ear I heard the rude comment and sound of disgust from DANIELLE. I explained why I was talking for my mother and DANNIELLE refused to discuss the acct with me. THE WORST. I handed the phone back to my mother where DANIELLE continued to be short, disgusted with life and rude.

According to the Greatcall sales person I spoke with the Smart phone from GC is compatible with hearing aids. Well, this is not the case. At least not with the hearing aids my mother in law is wearing. Evidently, the android software needs to use at least version 10. The smart phone from GC is version 7. Now you can see why they are cheap. Outdated technology.

GreatCalls was one of the flip phones on the list recommended to my mom by the New Orleans Lighthouse for the Blind. After researching each phone we decided on the Jitterbug Flip because it advertised a voice dial function. After receiving the phone this function did not work. I spoke with many different CSA regarding this problem they advised me to perform all these processes which did not correct the problem. I was lucky enough to reach an honest customer service agent who advised me the voice dial had a software issue and the company was aware of it, she offered to refund our money after I explained to her the primary reason we purchase the phone was my mom is 88 years of age and blind and she needed the voice dial, I also explained this to the CSA who sold us the phone. I called again and asked for a prepaid return mailing label, however this CSA was extremely rude after much discussion she finally relented and sent the label. Once the phone was received on there end I check my mom’s credit card they did not give us a full reimbursement. I called again explained everything however the CSA was extremely rude, she advise me this was the restocking fee and the front end shipping fee which is not going to be reimbursed. I explained to her we should not be responsible for these fee’s since there product was faulty. She keep me on hold for about 15 minutes while she discuss this with her supervisor. She advised me her supervisor would only reimburse the front end shipping fee. I called my mom’s credit card company they obtained a full refund for us. Customer Service is the worst except for the one honest person who assisted us. They will not survive if they cannot acknowledge responsibility for their faulty products and the lack of respect they have for the customers. If I could have give them zero Stars I would have.

Buyer beware, besides being expensive, they store all of your sensitive information for good, you cannot remove it. I had my identity stolen through GreatCall.

Greatcall cares only about their bottom line. I called in July 2020 to cancel my mother's service (I am POA) and was told it was done. Got her CC bill in August to find she was still active with Greatcall. Called again to cancel and was told it was done and charges would be reversed. They were at that time (but not for when I originally cancelled) but come Sept she was charged AGAIN! Called AGAIN and told it was done but got another bill with another charge! The incompetence is so very Trump-like. I asked if they would like to continue to rob my mother, who on a good day knows her first and last name, of $50 per month for a service that was cancelled in JULY! I am the POA and speak for her and have CLEARLY cancelled this service, TWICE! I was called rude (and I was because I was highly frustrated for their incompetence) but when I turned the tables and told them they were being rude and disrespectful for taking money for my mother who needs this money for a skilled nursing facility they HOPEFULLY finally reversed the charges. We'll see what the next month brings. Horrible company. DO NOT do business with them!

LIVELY FLIP LIE! After spending a total of over 5 hours with two "customer service" agents, it was determined (and agreed upon by them) that the new Lively Flip phone CAN NOT make voice calls or send texts through Alexa as advertised and written on the front of the box itself! You can hook to Alexa, but when you ask it to make a call or ask it to call one of your contacts using the Lively service (as instructed), Alexa will say, "Calling with Alexa is not supported on this device. Use the Alexa app instead." This is not possible, as the Lively Flip does not have the ability to download apps! Total scam. I asked one of the Customer Service agents why GreatCall would advertise a feature that was not available and he responded, "most of our users are not very tech savvy and will like not go through the complicated process to fully set up the Alexa,"??? I find it really sad that a company would cheat seniors by grossly misleading them and their caregivers in this manner. FYI...GreatCall has NO TECH SUPPORT department. You can only call customer service. The second agent I dealt with admitted to me that he was merely given the same manual that comes with the product and that he was "winging it" to try and solve the problem, no differently than I could do myself. He had never received any training on the product, had no troubleshooting info beyond the manual and had never physically seen, held or used the phone. This is disgusting and should be looked into by the FTC. If anyone from GreatCall sees this, feel free to email me a response and perhaps convince me that not one, but two of your own customer service "professionals" was wrong in their assessment of your advertising deception at rnscrubs @ gmail.

This is my very first GreatCall Smart2 mobile phone. Here are the Pros and Cons: Pros: Very informative and educational. Cons: The keyboard is too small and is difficult to use. I have a tendency to hit the wrong keys and the functions are so sensitive to touch while navigating. I can get frustrating at times. I'm switching to another mobile phone.

I was on a call this morning with CSR this morning. I believe his name is Rob. He was excellent. He went over all the details of my call, I had received a replacement phone and needed help with setting it up. He never lost his patience know matter how many questions I asked.
